Al-Qaeda fighters swell Taliban ranks

english.aljazeera.net

As the US commemorates the anniversary of the September 11 attacks in New York and Washington DC, Al Jazeera has gained exclusive access to a Taliban group in northern Afghanistan where foreign al-Qaeda fighters are bolstering their forces.

Sounds exactly like what happened to USSR, this is dejavu.

The thing is, foreign fighters are called Al-Qaeda lol.. That is so darn funny, I mean common, everyone who wants to kick Americans out of Afghanistan from around the globe is Al-Qaeda, are you kidding me?

Propaganda works in mysterious ways, now they are trying to legitimize the Afghan war, by claiming that Al-Qaeda and Taliban is one, and later on they will probably say they were one, when in reality these are not al-Qaeda forces, rather men who are sick of seeing oppression, aggression, and Western Bullyism.

The snipers that we were talking about in another thread, they must have been foreigners, and they are coming in numbers, just like at the time of USSR, when USSR lost control of provinces therefore was easier for them to come.

Dejavudoooo.. Pakistan and Hikmatyar are being good to West and saying leave, before your empire collapses, but the West doesn't want to listen.. Hikmatyar even promised a safe passage for them to leave.

KABUL – Former Afghan Prime Minister and founder of the Afghan resistance party Hizb-e-Islami, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar has offered western forces a ‘safe passage’ once the US announces a complete withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan, alongwith NATO.

AQ and the T?

No surprise. So, the evil forces join.

What I am surprised about is that they have now joined - I assumed they were already there.

Yes, Al-Qaeda and Taliban are now more of a "cause" than an actual organization..

The terms are now used for anyone that opposes western dominance.

I'd call them all "freedom fighters" because I dont believe any have left the ME to attack as is suggest with the 9/11 OS scenario and many others..

You get what I mean right lol..

So, you would call the Taliban, a hideous and repressive regime, freedom fighters?

We are talking about the Taliban which does unspeakable things to the people under its control.

Not Freedom Fighters - evil wrongdoers.

Crazy lunatics can also be labeled as freedom fighters, but from what I know, the overwhelming majority are not crazy lunatics, just like the overwhelming majority of American soldiers, and American population.

Just because they feed you the bad apples, doesn't mean you have to eat it, they are not forcing you to, they gave you the option to change the channel or turn it off.

Sorry, I was talking about the forces that America armed and trained because the US wanted them to fight their war against the USSR...

And once done, hmmm, well you know what the US does to people once their "use by date" has expired..

The Taliban and Al quaeda equal freedom for whom?

Men. Forget the women under their regime.

If you call a freedom fighter someone who hates women and cuts off their noses, so be it.

This is what the US wanted all along.

Al-Qaeda would not fight they are primarily terrorist that use car bombing, suicide and other types of sneak attacks.

Its very hard to wipe out a group that is hiding all the time,

Now if they join in battles with the Taliban we have a chance to wipe them out with firepower.

How can you wipe them out? I guess you haven't heard of guerrilla warfare? US has already been using its fire power lol..

The phase two requires imams of Mosques to call for Jihad, and that will increase the numbers like wooohhh.. Mixed with foreign fighters, who are coming to help the Afghan resistance, fire power is futile.. USSR = US = dejavu = WTF!!

You might call the Taliban 'freedom fighters' - but that in itself is an oxymoron, as they deny decent afghans the right to education.

I'm not defending the occupiers either, but supporting the taliban is just as wrong.

I dont understand your logic...

It was the Afghan people that chose the Taliban...

Why not leave it to them to decide what they want??

I wouldn't say the Taliban equals freedom for the men of Afghanistan-they still get hung for adultery/forced to fight/prey/pay taxes/not allowed booze/football/real education etc.
Sure on balance the women get the worst overall treatment-but I bet there are more than a few men in Afghanistan who would also love to see the end of the Taliban IMO.

The drug trade will never be stopped.

War will never be stopped.

Suffering will never be stopped.

Until the end of this planet.

The Western powers had bungled the attempt to wipe the radical islamists out, by believing Might is right, and invading lands.

The talibans and AQ may had been animals, but they are the only ones right now capable and organised enough to be recognised by fathers and sons whom seeks to protect their land and resources from imperialism and colonism by western powers.

The Western powers may claim otherwise, but in the eyes of nationalists, they are barbarians and to be wipe out. The wars in the ME had been a costly and futile excercise. It is time to pack up, negotiate amongst all parties for a lasting peace, and lay down the sword.

Democracy can never be bestowed upon another nation of People. It can only come from the People themselves. If they have no wish to fight for their own freedom and liberty, then no one else outside can help them.

Let the Talibans and the AQ win. Let them even form the government to lead the nation and own nukes. BUT should they ever cause harm to ANY other nation and there is irrefutable evidence of such wrong doings, then there is a noble cause to unite the world and wipe off these animals, as a nation state, if their own people had not destroy them themselves in the first place.

Times had change, as humanity are more aware now, and will no longer agree to live with a yokel around their necks, religiously, politically or economically within a nation state.

Most of the above did kind of stopped during the Taliban regime
and most of it didn't exist before US orchestrated the trouble in Afghanistan against the socialist government, which was actual moderate, but we know, communism bad, capitalism good, that is what happened. The same people who are fighting you right now were called freedom fighters back then, and they were called terrorists by USSR back then. Kinda makes everything seem so awkward but I call dejavu..

That being said, the Taliban weren't perfect, they were students, that is what Talib means, a student, and Taliban is the plural for Talib, meaning students. I actually remember some Pashtou, yaaaay.. Serious note, no one chose to teach the Taliban, rather tried to use them, but failed therefore the bombardment started
