If there is already a mosque then why would they want another?
Is there a greed factor involved here, or could it be a hint at attempted domination?
or maybe it's a hint that they should be allowed to have a place of worship where ever they want. They deserve freedom.
If Christians can have churches near abortion clinics where in history, "pro lifers" shot and killed doctors, why can't Muslims have a Mosque "near" Ground Zero?
Hypocrisy at it's finest!
Islam isn't a religion of peace, it's a death cult. It's really not complicated.
It was captured in 711[3] by a Muslim army: in 716 it became a provincial capital, depending from the Caliphate of Damascus; in Arabic it was known as قرطبة (Qurṭuba).
In the 10th-11th centuries Córdoba was one of the most advanced cities in the world, as well as a great cultural, political, financial and economic centre.
The programs at Cordoba Initiative (CI) are designed to cultivate multi-cultural and multi-faith understanding across minds and borders. In the ten years since our founding, the necessity to strengthen the bridge between Islam and the West continues to prevail.
The Muslims that governed southern Spain developed an inclusive administrative culture, and the face of public life was diverse. Christians served as administrators, governors and advisors to the Caliphs. Both Jews and Christians were able to practice their faiths with complete freedom and were granted the right to administer separate courts to uphold their biblical traditions and laws. The atmosphere of tolerance, inclusiveness and respect witnessed in Cordoba inspired erudition in the multiple religious traditions in Cordoba.

They can build a mosque wherever they'd like.
Just don't complain when it sets back the process of building peace, tolerance and understanding between disparate groups of people.

Wonkette operative “Evan B.” writes: “The debate over the planned mosque at Ground Zero seems a bit retarded to me; I work directly between the planned mosque and a mosque that has existed before 9/11 and continues to operate to this day. The existing mosque and the proposed mosque are probably 800 feet apart; one city block, let’s say.”

There's a major road near where I live that has about 5 Christian churches, some on the same block as one another. Can we start limiting them? Think of the benefit from increasing the property tax base alone...these are in a NICE neighborhood on sprawling acreage.

Was ground level of the Pentagon tall enough to fly an airplane into?
What point are you trying to make anyway?

The little red spec you see to the lower left is the size of the proposed Islamic community center. Note, though, that there is no line of sight to or from ground zero.

they certainly don't need to build one two blocks from ground zero.
The Cordoba Initiative has been funded by Malaysia and many other nations that are members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, a coalition that aims to outlaw, everywhere in the world, any and all criticism of Islamic people, practices, legal codes, and governments. In April 2009, Rauf incorporated the Cordoba Initiative in New York. Three months later, he spent $4.58 million in cash to purchase Manhattan real estate at 45 Park Place, just 600 feet from Ground Zero, from the heirs to New York’s Pomerantz family. Rauf now plans to build a 13-story, $100 million mosque on that site – for the stated purpose of proving to the world that Islam is a peaceful faith. Rauf claims that New York Muslims furnished him with the money he used to purchase this real estate. But financial records show that in fiscal year 2009, his ASMA received large international donations totaling at least $1.3 million. The largest donation, $576,312, came from Qatar, whose government stands accused of funding international terrorism in Somalia, Ethiopia, and other parts of the Horn of Africa. For decades, Qatar has hosted Muslim Brotherhood spiritual chief Yusuf al-Qaradawi, a founding shareholder in the terror-financing al-Taqwa Bank, which is believed to have ties to al Qaeda and other Islamic terror networks. ASMA also received $481,942 from Holland’s Millennial Development Goals Fund; $144,752 from New York’s Carnegie Corporation; $53,664 from the United Nations Population Fund; plus additional donations from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and a number of the other foundations listed earlier in this report.
bombers and fires incendiary rockets at civilian targets within Israel. It calls for the destruction of the Jewish state followed by the establishment of a potentially fundamentalist and repressive regime. Governments all over the world, including the United States and the European Union, rightfully consider Hamas to be a terrorist organization that willfully and indiscriminately targets innocent civilians. Yet Imam Rauf, after being asked this simple, straightforward question, refused to state whether or not he believed Hamas to be a terrorist organization. He said: "I will not allow anybody to put me in a position where I am seen by any party in the world as an adversary or as an enemy." Now Imam Rauf wants to build and lead a $100 million, 13-story community center and mosque. It would be constructed on property currently occupied by a historic 150-year-old building that was seriously damaged by the landing gear of one of the hijacked jetliners that flew into the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, and he wants to unveil it on September 11, 2011.
The Cordoba Initiative has reported less than $20,000 in assets. Where the $100 million for his project would come from is anybody's guess. Furthermore, it's fair to ask why, exactly, Imam Rauf has insisted on building the mosque so close to ground zero, and why he wants to unveil it on the 10th anniversary of the attacks. This not an issue of religious freedom, but rather, a question of safety and security. New Yorkers deserve to be safe and to feel safe, and we have a right to know who's footing the bill for Imam Rauf's project. Are foreign governments or other organizations involved? And why is there such secrecy about the source of the money?

Well fancy that could you imagine? Of all the events to come to light there already is a mosque near WTC. LOL so basically the spread of Islam is unstoppable. Islam the biggest religion and the fastest growing. LOL why fight the muslims? Was it the Koran that inspired the "terrorist" to bomb anything? Did Mohamed say that? Or was it the senseless killing of innocent lives in the middle east during a still on going occupation by a foreign government who preaches democracy and freedom but circumvents a democratic process and the freedom of choice to its host?
