You, my friend, have apparently NEVER watched British Parliament when it is aired on television. Heckling the Prime Minister by the opposition is an art form. Why should the obamanation be exempt? The still photo of the three of them simultaneously shooting their dirty look was pricelss. The president is not exempt from being held accountable. It's about effin time.

These days, when the gov. seems like they want to make paupers out of all of us, I can understand the breach of etiquette.
I don't really think that was the time or the pace for that type of thing, but hey, "All is fare in love and war"
It's about time, too.

People are questioning, as you say

And that's a GOOD thing, imo ... a GREAT thing

Ask the freakn questions, folks. You PAY them. They have NOTHING to lose if your life and down through the next ten generations of your family go down the toilet

THEY still get paid

THEY still collect the perks, the bribes, the Swiss bank accounts, the cars, the cruises

and LET'S not forget the generous pensions they receive after spending just a few years 'in politics' !

They're ALL liars. They LIVE off you and your labour

You PAY them

and they sell you and yours down the river and laugh

What is this cringeing, forelock-touching reverence people have for scum in suits ? Were you parents peasants ? Were they ignoramuses who could not read ? Is THAT why so many are prepared to suspend judgement about some guy or woman who temporarily holds office ? Is it because like children, you NEED someone to 'look up to ' ? People need to ask themselves some questions. Until they DO, governments will continue to behave like ugly actors in a Mafia movie and will continue to spit in the face of what they regard as the FOOLS who put them where they are

Obama is just a guy. A guy who got lucky. A guy who kissed the backsides of the 'right' people, who in turn for the ass-licking he did, allowed HIM to be the current Puppet President

And for that privilege and all the money and cosy retirement that comes with it for Obama and all his descendants --- he does as he is TOLD -- NOT told by the people --- TOLD by those who put him where he is and to whom he owes EVERYTHING. He works for THEM, not you

and people need to remember that.

If people need to belong to a 'side', or a 'team' --- they should have the sense to sign their lives away to a sporting-team -- NOT a political party

Better still, wouldn't it be nice if people used the brains we're to assume they were born with, and toss away this need to belong from which they suffer and which prompts them to come online in support of some goonish 'president' who wouldn't even wipe his nose on them, so unimportant are they and so temporary is he

Damn right 'presidential tools/puppets' need to be called out

because in reality, it's the lobbyists and Israhell that's being called out

Obama has no more power or credibility in reality than a Ken doll, insofar as real life world events are concerned

for pete's sakes, grow up ! He's not 'your' president. He's the Israeli-mob's tool

and the Israeli-mob has YOUR best interests at heart ? ... LOL

No one cried when Bush got a shoe tossed at his face...

Bush wasn't speaking to congress, and the thrower wasn't a United States Congressman. I believe he was an Iraqi reporter. Big difference. I find it ironic that the party that is so freaked about us turning into Europe or the UK has, with 2 words, turned our chapel of democracy into a Jerry Springer version of Parliament. All followed of course by the predictable cheers from the GOP'ers who applaud him for "standing up for his beliefs" and "saying what needed to be said", without any idea of the line he crossed in doing so. With their beligerence, hostility, blind party loyalty, and willful ignorance, the Republican Party continues to show us all why they should change their mascot from an Elephant to an Ostrich.

Yes, I love watching Parliament in action. It's fast-paced, witty, sometimes gritty, but the PM generally takes it in stride and can even be self-effacing, which brings down the house.

CSPAN's coverage of the House of Representatives can be priceless, as well. Anyone who remembers Rep. James Traficant (D/OH) and his infamous 60-second monologues every morning can tell you, the House of Representatives WAS ONCE a very lively and humorous political body.

Today it's as cold as Nancy's nipples. BRRRR!

Shouting did not get the proper point across, it never does! Now what i would like to see is for those who dont support this healthcare plan to simply stand up and walk out in protest. That would have made a much bolder statement with out the childish side effect.

Things are starting to heat up, and should get very interesting over the next few weeks,I just wish we has system of government that worked for our interest and not that of corperations.

My biggest problem with politics has allways been what I call the Team Sports Mentality, where when a ref makes a Liget call on your team, its a bad call. In the reverse situation you see it diferent.

a perfect example is spending Democrats raised hell when bush was spending us in to debt, however now they are fine with it when its there team doing the spending. The two party system is ruining this country Divide and conqer!

Good. Then you need to be annoyed.

I don't think walking out would have achieved anything. At least vocalizing his opinion got the attention of the top three idiots.

Yes, it seems things are starting to heat up. Not fast enough though. Rep Wilson's site is still down.

I love it. I want the YOU LIE! T-shirt with Obama's frowning mug. Come to think of it, I could make the image for the T-shirts, but I'm not crazy about the idea of copyright infringement.

Yes, 'walking out' is playing into the hands of the REAL controllers

That's why we're programmed in infancy to be 'quiet', 'obedient', 'well mannered' and to not 'draw attention to ourselves'

We are programmed in order that we'll cause the LEAST inconvenience and disruption. We are trained like animals to CONTROL OURSELVES.

That way, those with their hands in our pockets, those who own our lives --- don't have to interrupt their lying and thieving and don't have to spend a second controlling us

WE control OURSELVES. Like robots. Like sheep going down the chute at the abbatoirs

It's only the sheep who FIGHT and jam up that chute, who get attention and who --- for one tiny moment --- TAKE back their own power and give the butchers a moment's anxiety

So the guy who called out the President (in reality, called out those with their arms up Obama's backside and working his mouth) decided NOT to 'control himSELF'

decided NOT to 'obey the rules'

decided NOT to 'dignifiedly walk out' (which the whore-media's cameras would have ignored anyway, making it a wasted gesture)

NO. THIS guy decided to stand UP and stand OUT.

In doing so, he's caused people to 'question' ... 'what did he mean .. could Obama be lying ? Lying about what ? I need to pay more attention instead of allowing myself to slip into programmed hypnotic trance and semi-idiocy when I'm watching the God-TV

People should try it, this refusal to open wide and allow the excreta to pour in

people need to start questioning one hell of a lot -- a lot more often

It should become people's new habit

try it. Try questioning and disbelieving instead of unthinking acceptance

And if people don't have the testes yet to scream out 'You are a Liar ! '

there's another way .. one which is VERY effective and stops liars and dissemblers dead in their tracks

it's simple

you just say: ' I don't BELIEVE you '

and then watch their face

THEIR programming falls apart right in front of you

And that's all you need say. ' I don't believe you'.

It's not a challenge, in the way 'You are a Liar' is

It's a statement. And it will empower YOU

So don't nod to be polite when someone is lying into your face

Stand up for yourself like the guy who called-out Obama did. Stand up and take back YOUR power. Say, when you feel it to be true and justified, ' I don't believe you'. Calm. Simple. Powerful

Then they have to try to MAKE you believe them. They're on the back-foot, the lower position. And that's the ONLY position you should ever allow politicians to hold

I was shocked at first.
Then I watched it again.
Then I laughed out loud at Pelosi and obamas response.
Then I realized how all the energy was sucked out of the room.
Then the president started to look so small.
It was like the incredible shrinking potus.

All in all it was rude but sometimes people get all wee weed up !!

Yes. Let's all sit back and let the man drivel on with the lies and mistruths. Let's all just drink the Kool-Aid and go on with our lives. You seem to forget how our nation was founded, and you seem to forget that when it was founded, it wasn't a bunch of people gathered around a man with a messiah complex watching him preach from his soapbox. No, it was an ACTUAL democracy, with conflicting points of view and everything. The opposing force is being suppressed, silenced, called names, demeaned, and sometimes it is necessary to push the envelope a little to get the point across.

Would you prefer something more like an oligarchy where the government just decides everything for you? Would that work better for you? That's what you're suggesting.

Totally agree that was most disrespectful. This guy needs to be reprimanded by someone in his own party.

Amazingly bad taste!

Ok, so what are these lies and mistrusths? Can you show us what he is lying about? I keep hearing all these Repubs saying he's lying, but they don't back up their statements with anything but labels, personal attacks, and the parroted talk show hyperbole dejour. Pro reformers can point to a link on the bill and show where it says illegals won't get coverage. But I have yet to see proof of this being a lie from anyone. And remember, This is also about respect for the highest office in our country. GOP'ers love to claim some kind of exclusive on being "true Americans and Patriots" but applaud a former military man who maliciously defiles the chain of command. This sets a dangerous precedent and has serious implications where those dependent on a strong chain of command are concerned. The President was not invited to Congress to be held accountable for something, he was not invited to take part in debate. He was asked to come and speak to Congress. No wonder Obama isn't inviting them to heakthcare reform talks at the Whitehouse. I wouldn't want some irrational, ranting, basket case shouting down in my office either.

YA it does

and I think you should include a free binky with each order, then branch out and start a solid cross marketing campaign with Pampers

Maybe a sniffling Glen Beck playing point for the 30 second TV spots.

I see so many comments concerned with etiquette regarding this situation.
Is it proper etiquette to do what is being done to the American people?
Is it proper etiquette to be taxed into slavery.
Does it show good taste to make our future responsible for our screw ups?
I wonder, how much of a roll does etiquette play, when fighting for your very freedom.

I really think that this incident demonstrates the state of affairs quite well.

That's what I was looking for..how they reacted. Did Mr. Wilson have more than one outburst? A small one prior to the one that was clearly heard. Pelosi looks to her left, stares, then turns to Biden like an adolescant schoolgirl talking smack. Couple seconds go by and you hear the more audible "You lie". She turned back and looked at the same spot she was focused on before. You're right, the look on her face was.."How dare he..HOW DARE HE! She gives me uncomfortable vibes.
Mo' Money looked pretty offended too, but I'm sure it was simply confusion since he had to think up an original repose. Personally, I don't think the President stands a chance at holding his ground if he's caught off guard like that and actually challenged.

Throwing shoes?

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/a789ee8fa38d.gif[/atsimg]

Why not?

I mean if he wasn't your candidate and you don't like him or his party there is no reason to pretend to have the courtesy you demanded be given to the president affiliated with your own party just a short while ago. You know...how if anyone disagreed with him openly they were unpatriotic?

Now its quite the opposite.
Openly disrespecting your own president means you're a true patriot and those that support him are Nazis.

It's pretty distasteful behavior for a Congressman in my opinion.
Didn't like it when done to Bush, don't like it when done to Obama.

Nothing much has changed between the two of them anyhow, it's just one man cleaning up and continuing the mess that the other one made even though most would rather believe the current state of the U.S. is all the fault of a first term President.

But that's the thing.
He is the U.S. President.

Disagree and debate with him or his policies Mr. Congressman, but don't do it like a five-year old upset during story-time.

- Lee
