If you want some honesty about slavery, read The South Was Right by the Kennedy Brothers. There were many black Americans that owned slaves and plantations in the south. Less than 5% of white southerners owned slaves at all. I could write a thread that would sonsume 20 pages but won't because most Americans have been brainwashed by Northern versions of history. Read what Good Ol Honest Abe had to say about blacks and slavery. He wanted to send them all back to Africa and despised black people and people of mixed races. The truth is there if you seek it and not regurgitate what Northern books, professors and universities have lied about for over 150 years.

Everyone already knows that stuff about abe. You arent saying anything shocking or new here.
Just the typical egotistical guy thinking he knows everything..
Welcome to ignore, I love this feature. I hate egotistical people who go around calling other people they dont even know brainwashed. No tolerance for people like you. How do you know noone knew that stuff? You don't.

And this doesnt necessarily mean I disagree with you, its just the way you presented it. Like as if what you were saying was some unknown shocking revelation or something.
I hate egos.

Also I laugh at people who are obviously still angry the south lost the war. That was like 150 freaking years ago! Get over it. This thread is about getting over slavery and if you read the replies in youll see most the black people on here including me never complain about slavery or play the race card.

I read a review of that book you reccomended and thats what it said, it was full of bias and anger. And not just one review, I read many.

It also said it was poorly researched and the sources were almost non existant.

So no I wont be reading it. I;ll just stay "brainwashed" as you say

I wonder why the massive migrations of chinese from the countryside to the city. Is it only the masochists among them that decide to abandon their idyllic lives in the country and pursue a life of oppression?

I understand where you're coming from and it beggars belief as to why some would leave what appears on the face of it to be what I at least would call an idyllic life.

Nevertheless 3rd and 4th generation factory workers are so far removed from the way their forbears lived that they have seemed to enslave themselves.

However the tendency for industrialization to move into and often destroy idyllic places to live, is proven over and over.

Not only does the west both knowingly and also through negligence and complacency enslave these people but also their lands.

A recent scandal occurred in the UK in relation to recycling domestic waste.

Thousands of tonnes of waste have been shipped to India (and god knows where else) for recycling, yes indeed let them have the crap.

A great big hole was once dug (and who knows how many more) in a stunning beautiful area of (national) park forest. The hole was filled with tonnes plastic bottles bags etc and covered over with an inch of soil.

It would seem (perhaps through my naive black and white eyes) that we, enslave others with the lure of the material, that they in fact clamor produce for us.

And those that don't fall for the lie of material wealth are pushed to the wayside and their way of life poisoned.

Perhaps I am being naive, but I personally see very little difference between abducting humans from Africa to work on a plantation in Virginia and moving the plantation to Africa and creating a need for our way of life there.

That is all...

Seriously? You're going to call me out on semantics? Race vs Family?

If you are truly seeking unity and oneness, you would eliminate the term "human" and focus on all beings as unified.

yeah its always funny when someone says they are "african american" yet they dont even know a thing about africa and were raised in new york.

I dont go around saying im "english irish scottish greek jewish american"

and also, the fact that slavery happened was horrible.. but it wasnt just the blacks. practically every single race has been involved in slavery. its been going on for a long, long time.

And to add to that, not every person in Africa is black. There are people in Africa who are white.

Not sure if anyone mentioned but.. This whole talk falls on deaf ears anyway.. certain individuals wil always keep their beliefs.

Like an earlier poster, and I have said on these boards years ago...No body ever mentions American indians..they killed off the native indians...then shipped new ones over from another continent! Sortof like how they do business today, wouldnt you agree?

You never here cries from the irish coal miners, or the chinese slaves that built railways across the continent only to be barred from living here afterward..sent back to china.

sticking with your own kind is the natural way..this "melting pot" is still in its infancy, and we arent making very good progress anymore.

I think that depends upon where you are from. I am from Wisconsin and heard that a lot. The rights provided to them are even rubbed in all the other people's faces when they are tax exempt on just about every purchase and they get to live on reserve land and, and, and. And some of them keep complaining about what happened to 'their people'.

I understand the complaint, but there comes a time when that debt has been repaid to the people. All the casinos are Indian owned and, I believe, Indians are the only ones who can legally own them. You don't see the govt bending over backwards to right the wrongs done to blacks like we do for Indians.

Reminder: I'm only talking about the state of Wisconsin.

Has it occured to you that "white" isn't some big conglomerate culture? So "privilege" wasn't ever exactly evenly spread?

No. Everyone should be judged not by the actions of others of the same religion, culture, gender, creed.....

Except if you're white. THEN you're all the same. You are all nothing but the worst of you.

Good stuff.

Actually I think he did. Sadly today we have a man who lied to get into office and wants to enslave the free, this time all of us. And from other threads I have read and even on other sites, they want to kill off all the dumb ones.

So now it does not matter if you are black, white, yellow, red or green with pink polka dots. Their greed and lust for power and their belief that 90 % of the population should be culled from the herd means we can now see clearly that color does not exsist, we are just differnet shades, and our labels are meaningless.

"We will all go together when we go."

I am French Canadian Metis, American, the real low man on the totem pole.

I beg to differ a little. There are different cultures. And I don't believe in the eraser of cultures. Everyone has thier culture. I don't believe in one homongenous world.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having different cultures, I am quite fond of mine. The problem occurs when people use "non-similarities" as justification for hate.

We are inherently different, but we also further segregate ourselves by singling out the most minor differences. The more ignorant approach is to dwell on these differences instead of uniting under our similarities.

Sorry for being off-topic but I just wish that people would stop looking for reasons to create antimosity amongst each other!!!

Alot of the racial tension in this country stems from slavery. Have you read black american history..not the diluted version they teach in k-12 either? Hell, the natives got the rawest end of the deal.

You are making it sound like once the last slaves where set free, our ancestors washed their hands of the whole affair and welcomed their slaves with open arms..NO! Integration was feriously fought by Congress at all levels once slaves were freed. The civil rights act was only 40 years ago, that generation are our grandparents.

After working in the private sector in different jobs doing different things i can tell you that racial disparities, tension, and discrimination still continues.

It's gotten better since 60's but we still have a long way to go.

Great post! As far as black people only wanting to become big as rappers or athletes solely is a common misconception. If you have a gift, you use the gift..that's all. You fight for your dreams.

The problem is that too many black people stuck in the ghetto see sports or rappers as the only way out..it's they are exposed too. Professionals get paid..no matter what you do, that needs to be stressed rather than going to college to work for the guy that decided to get money right outta high school.

Do what you do baby

Only it isn't. The people you think of as white and privileged often paid for that "privilege" in total cultural annihilation against their will. But hey, I guess that's a Privilege.
