IMO...mostly because the majority of Americans are sheep...livestock...too busy worrying about collecting every dollar they can, while waiting for the next airing of "I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here". Well, it worked (for awhile) for the soviet union, and china, north korea, and now venezuela ...



Hugo Chavez isn't a "dictator" and it is extremely inappropriate to compare Venezuela to North Korea, China, or the USSR.

Chavez was elected by the people in elections internationally certified as free and fair by the United Nations and independent observers.

look..it's a crapshoot at best what is going to come out of washington, all we can do is lessen the grief by holding our elected officials feet to the fire. there are no gaurentees, all we can do is elect people that seem to lean our way and hope they can gut out all the opposition, and lobbying that they are buried under.

Well ya, in fact YOU lie 200-300 times a day, why do you look at this man (president) as a holy figure?! He is a politician, they ALL lie.. including YOU! There is NO holy man on this earth, we are ALL student of life, some older students (thinkers/philosophers) and others younger.

So stop looking for an excuse to attack one another.. grow up! Life is too damn short to argue over these stupid things. If you really wanna know "why" he lied, look at yourself for the answer, we tend to judge one another by color, weight, shape, religion, faith, etc... so to fit in you are pressured to lie, can't be your true self, because we haven't grown up yet. We keep thinking we're all so different.... but forget to see the bigger picture!!!

Here we have an example of one of the most out of touch with reality posts seen here in awhile. Oh, and I forgot to mention cuba in my earlier post. You know the cuba that chavez seeks to emulate? President for life = dictator. Shutting down all opposition news sources = dictator, etc. etc.


Now back to the issues in this thread ...
