I fear that you are correct. They have a different mentality than we do and it would not be out of character for them to make a preemptive strike which it appears they have been trying to incite for a while. I would not be surprised if Laura Ling and the other journalist who was arrested with her the other day wind up being convicted of spying by a puppet jury or wind up being sacrificial ducks in this mess. Too convenient to have two somewhat high profile Americans arrested right before the launch isn't it?

North Korea isn't worth the fight, they have severe environmental damage like all Communist nations and other weather-related problems. The expense of trying t clean it up and restore a sustainable farming aconomy may not be worth it.

North Korea threatens war on almost a monthly basis. This is a non-issue. If the North were actually to initiate a war it would not only be a complete surprise, but the probable total capitulation by the Obama administration would ensure that nothing other than the conquest of South Korea by the North would ensue, so no big deal, right?

A man can dream, can't he?

Though if SK were to start evacuating people, would NK start attacking? That's hardly a justification, but Kim is rather unstable. Does anyone know the reach of NK's guns? Would all of Seoul have to be evacuated or just the surrounding area? This looks like a job for Superman.

Haha, 9-11 looked like a job for Superman, but no go. This is the really real world...

This looks like a job for Super Army.

I may not be the most political or intelligent person here but I think that North Korea needs to have a war or sell arms in order to get there country up and running again like before the NK SK war. In NK 150,000+ people die of starvation every year and now that the world cannot feed them due to the economic crisis Bush put this planet in they need to either sell arms or wage war in order to get the financial assistance they need to survive. Both routs will make them money in the long run its a no lose situation for them just a few more dead bodies. People die in there country weather they wage war or not so why not make the bodies count?

From source:

The Thursday statement told the United States to withdraw its armed forces in what appeared to be a reference to American warships that have reportedly set sail to monitor the launch from international waters.

Looking for war?

North Korea Missile:

This satellite image provided by DigitalGlobe shows a missile on the launchpad at Musudan-ni, North Korea formally know as Taepo-dong missle launch facility. The image was collected Sunday March 29, 2009. CNN has said North Korea has begun fueling a long-range rocket for an impending launch Thursday April 2, 2009 as President Barack Obama warned the liftoff would be a ”provocative act” that would generate a U.N. Security Council response.

Time to give this one a rest.

The whole NK missile crisis is a stage act. The North knows full well what happened when China and Vietnam opened their borders. Hong Kong was the wake up call for China. NK wants the same thing. NK is falling apart and the only way to save face and transition themselves to the real world is to put on this show. It's about as transparent as 9-11. All put together by the bankers.

I think the NWO script writers could do a better job at making these events seem a little more genuinely real. Bankers aren't very good at putting on a show. This little act here would be great for the presentation of all the available military weapons on the market. You know the bankers are loving it.

Everything you see around you is a lie. Borders on the map only exist to control YOU. Look at the money... Different in every Country to make YOU work harder for THEM.

Every single world leader out there is just a puppet. They're told what to do, and how to do it, every single day.

Who are THEY? Dutch / German Banks.

Now then... Lets look at Africa. Tell me.. Do you think they like the Blacks? The answer is NO!! North Africa would be proof of that.

As far as any issues arising between the US and China... There will be none. With the investments China made in the US. Even a total idiot knows that China wouldn't risk loosing that much money.

No matter how you want to look at it. NK days are numbered.

I've read a few of the posts her and I'm impressed by the knowledge that some of you ATSers have on the numbers and inner workings of the wide spread BS that the system has you all believing.
None the less, it is BS.. All of it.

As soon as everybody starts seeing things for what they truly are, just a number, the sooner we can get on with our lives.
Your SSN might as well be tattooed to your forearm.

We need to put an end to all this crap.
People need to wise up and stop joining the military.

War: Population control, Arms sales, Bankers bottom line.

For all of you that think what I'm saying is BS..
Try watching the, so called, news on World Events, while keeping what you've just read in mind.

Try it just once. That's all I ask.

Perhaps, If your eyes are open, you just might start to see the real picture.

You'll be seeing all the set up and prep work for the next Big Act.
War.. A rather expensive and deadly commercial for their weapons.

You can make a lot more money selling weapons than you can selling oil.

Have a Nice Day_javascript:icon('

Time to give this one a rest.

Whom are you telling to give this a rest? All of us on ATS?
Because you say so? You are not speaking to your children, sir/madame.
I think not.

the only way to save face and transition themselves to the real world is to put on this show.

This snip of your next paragraph clearly shows your lack of understanding of "lil kim's" position in the world.
He has purposely isolated the north. And his people. There is no real world for them.
And doesn't want to "transistion". And is currently threatening to launch a rocket he should not possess.

*sigh* I will not further parse and rebut all of your statments...It makes some readers eyes bleed.
Thanks for stopping by to enlighten all of us.
Your gonna fit right in around here!
Peace

I personally think Japan should shoot it down if it goes over their territory. And once NK declare war, Japan needs to open up a can of whupping on them. Basically, I am getting tired of NK rhetoric and threats. It is about time somebody shuts them up.

Japan does not have an army?

And within the first hour of the war, DPRK's artillery barrage in the mountains over Seoul will kill hundreds of thousands and more..

I hate to agree with Rockpuck (
), but he is right.

There is far more at stake here than some (likely faulty) NK rocket.

NK might be the strongest 'axis of evil' nation, especially at projecting their forces in their own area.

A full artillery barrage on Seoul would level the city within days. We're talking probably over a million civilian casualties.

I'm sure there are many countries, the US included, that would do all in their power to avenge those deaths. I wouldn't be surprised if China gave them a slap on the wrist either.

We don't want, or need, more war. The world is a mess.

I say let their rocket fly. Specialists will be able to predict it's trajectory before it becomes a threat. If it is aimed at an Earth target, you shoot it down and provide the evidence.

If it is simply heading for space, let the damn thing go. It isn't worth the risk.

And to those who think KJI doesn't have the balls to back up the tough talk, than I have a question for you.

What if he isn't in charge anymore?

It is my belief that L'il Kim is dead, and that the generals are now in power in NK. I think he has been dead for several years. With them in power instead of the all talk and no walk midget, they actually might retaliate.

It's highly likely their lil rocket might blow up on lift off anyways. I agree with you that KJI is dead, pretending he's alive is better then admitting a power change.

I must agree with you both Rockpuck and Foof.....
What I don't see Is a long shelling of Seoul( if this gets that far) ...the US has too many troops and investment interests there and the massacre that would trigger an almost immediate and severe US retaliation. All of the members of the UNSC are ready for that possibility.

edit to add: I think that he is dead also.

wat if north korea wants japan to shoot it down just so they can declare war on japan and america and allies.....for instance say south korea then at the end after they accept peace reates they get a sweeter part of the deal becuase they didnt tecknickly start it ? say to take over south korea like they want to.....i mean whos to say how many troops nk has in underground tunnels under the dmz right now starving or not they have been brainwashed have they not....it could be ww2 with the japs all over again and suicidal sobs

p.s. this could be a great boost to the economy i mean we went to war in wwII and that helped the economy we went to nam that helped the economy we went to korea before and that helped the economy this obama may not be as stupid as he looks

What the hell.. Shoot the thing down over the ocean with a laser. Radar can't track a laser. The official report would be a major malfunction. Problem solved.

Watch that NOT be done for the sake of having a war and selling weapons.

I think that NK is preparing itself for big stage NWO market deals so they need soma attention. Kim Jong idays are going away fast.

They are poor and isolated and saw how their main ally China boosted after they have gone on world market. Same thing happenned before with Russia.

Why would so called communist states like Russia and China wanted war with any market powers?
China produces everything for everybody - from corn, shoes, tech..., Russia exports gas and oil...

If NK tries something, first slap behind the ear will be from China, second will be Russia's foot in ass.
