COMBATE -- Today I was going through my pictures of my recent trip and I noticed this interesting image of an object in the sky. I did not see that object when I was taking the picture. I was taking various shots of the scenery that day. The Lajas Aerostat was to the left of the picture and higher up.
I have a few other shots of the same area which do not show anything unusual. This is looking east walking down from the Lighthouse. What is even more interesting is that later that night I saw an object in the sky that I reported on.
This was taken with a Sony 7 MP digital camera. I would love to know what this object was! I know it was not an aircraft as I would have seen and heard it! Thanks to MUFON CMS
A UFO, described by witnesses as "square-shaped" or "oval," was sighted over the Summit Hills section of San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, on Friday, January 4, 2002 at 2:30 a.m.
The flyover was witnessed by two residents of Summit Hills--Magdalena Gotay, who was standing on the staircase of her house, and Dr. Carlos Fernandez, who was standing in the street in front of his home. Sra. Gotay described the UFO as "a square" while Dr. Fernandez described it as "oval."
Both described the night sky above San Juan as "clear, cloudless, with good visibility." The UFO, they said, "had yellowish lights surrounding it, but the lights did not cast any lights, nor did they light up the (immediate) area. The object appeared to be made of a flat dark gray metallic substance."
The witnesses said the UFO was "three times the size of an airliner if the airliner were traveling at the same altitude (height) as the object, some 2,000 feet (600 meters) up. It was moving from north to south diagonally and zigzagging up and down. They say that when it was over the mogote (karst hill) located behind the Borinquen Towers apartment building," it began "heading southeast, passing directly over their heads. It hid behind a cloud after some seven to ten minutes and was not seen again. Its speed was very slow, slower than an airliner."
Both Sra. Gotay and Dr. Hernandez detected "an acrid, sulfur-like odor as it flew overhead."
"Magdalena Gotay awoke the next morning with a strong headache. She does not know if was related to the sighting."

Laguna Cartagena is linked to many local legends, ranging from witches, wandering spirits on the roads, and even aliens have reportedly been seen walking along the highways.
An incident occurred here in the ‘80s when hundreds of witnesses from Lajas, Betances and nearby communities saw an object plummet into the lagoon. Witnesses say that a huge sphere fell into the waters. What makes this incident strange is that Federal authorities immediately intervened to remove whatever it was that fell. They explored the lagoon for several weeks with Navy divers, twin-rotor helicopters over the lagoon, drawing water, and managed to remove some spheres. While Puerto Rico has several natural and artificial lagoons, including the Vega Lagoon in Yauco, which has had its own UFO accounts for years. It’s located in the mountainous region of Yauco, and many locals have reportedly seen huge objects coming out of these waters in total silence..

Mr. Blacky and his mother were watching the Moon on Saturday, January 12, 2008 when they suddenly became aware of 3 lights in motion. These lights were engaged in a circular movement, with the trio of light sources forming a circle and joining into a single light. All of this occurred in front of their house around 9:57 p.m.

A woman had gone to the kitchen to drink a glass of water. She looked out the window towards the neighbor’s brick porch when she noticed “a little man” standing on the tile roof. She described the humanoid as about 3 feet tall, chubby, a large head (in disproportion to its body), a large very fat nose, a huge eyes that when it blinked they seemed to emit blue-white lights. The little man apparently noticed her looking at him and began staring intently at the witness. The witness also could not take her eyes away from the entity’s eyes, becoming somewhat mesmerized by their size and the blinking blue-white lights. Suddenly without taking his eyes away from the witness the little man began to walk backwards and then jumped on a tree located in between the neighbor’s and the witness house, quickly disappearing from sight.

DORADO -- Eduardo Cerdeiros Gonzalez, and Sonia Felix Maldonado were driving along the Caribbean Sea on the North shore of Puerto Rico on November 11th , 2001 at 11:11 PM.
The radio sound turned to static and the car lights dimmed. The engine sputtered and stopped. They looked toward the sea and saw a black disk come out the water with pulsating red and orange lights. It flashed it lights heading north and straight up and out of sight in about 15 seconds.
Some other persons from the Puerto Rico Police Department also viewed the incident, and reported to his headquarters.The name of the official is Jaime D. of the Highway Patrol Police.

1:30 AM. Juan Hernandez was driving his car near town when he saw a bright star-like object suddenly descend over the area. He stopped his car near a local bridge in order to obtain a better view of the object. The bright blue light approached his position changing into a turquoise tint. The witness then saw a ship behind the lights. He described it as a huge triangular shaped craft, with a transparent cupola on top. Inside the cupola he could see a tall humanoid figure looking down on him. The figure appeared thin, with a large bulb-shaped head; he also noticed that it had large dark eyes. While looking at the craft a bright beam of light suddenly illuminated him. At that moment he felt a great sense of peace. The craft was silent and it had blinking multi-colored lights. The craft then began to move slowly away. He got inside his vehicle and attempted to follow the object, but his path was blocked by what appeared to be a military vehicle. Several men wearing black military outfits warned him not to follow the object or something might "happen" to him. The craft was soon lost from sight, and the men & military vehicle left the area.

On this morning near the Urbanizacion Country Club, Mrs. Carmen Vazquez, accompanied by her 5-year-old daughter, was on her way home when the little girl pointed out something in the sky. Looking up she saw a shiny metallic oval shaped craft flying slowly overhead and head off towards nearby El Yunque Mountain. According to the little girl, the object had numerous windows and inside she was able to see several gray-colored figures with huge black eyes looking down from the windows at their car.

Several witnesses watched numerous lights maneuvering over a nearby hilltop. A huge round, lighted craft descended and appeared to land behind the hill. Two women got into their car and drove towards the location to investigate. As they neared the area they noticed a grayish luminous light hovering over the hill, and a columnar beam of light was emanating from it. One of the then went into a trance and would not respond to her companion, so the other decided to drive back to her home. Once at her house they picked up some additional witnesses and they again drove back to the area where the light had been seen hovering. When they arrived, all of the witnesses except for the driver noticed a five-foot tall humanoid figure standing by the side of the road, no more than then feet from their vehicle. The being was thin with long thin arms, a large head and large dark almond-shaped eyes; his skin was gray in color and appeared to have a slight glow to it. He stood motionless looking at the witnesses. Behind him a shaft of grayish light could be seen, apparently coming from the light source above. At this point the witnesses panicked and drove away quickly from the area.

8:00 PM. Two witnesses were sitting and chatting at the steps of their home when they suddenly noticed a disc-shaped craft flying above a nearby palm grove. The craft stopped to hover. It had a large white light on the bottom and a green and a blue flashing light, plus several brightly lit windows could be seen on its side. The object then shut off its lights and vanished. Later that night a woman had gone out in his yard to empty some cooking waste when she saw four little men wearing silvery outfits standing by a water faucet. They seemed to have short antennae like protrusions from their heads, large pointy ears, and were bald headed. They had small mouths and their necks were long and thin. They all had their arms crossed in front of their chest. The woman screamed and ran back inside her house to alert the others, but the little men had already gone when they came out.

"Milla de Oro" about to take the expressway to San Juan. He was driving with three other guys as passengers. Beside him [on the road] was a green Mitsubishi and behind him was a red care. All of the cars around him stopped. All of them! The cars stopped, the drivers got out of their vehicles to look [at the object]. He wanted to get closer to the object to see it better and tried to follow it, matching its speed. The object then increased speed until the car was trying to follow it at 95 MPH. The object eventually vanished at high speed.
Willie Durand: What was the object like?
Eyewitness's Brother: It was a brilliant object, very luminous and triangle-shaped.
Willie: Do you know if your brother felt some warmth on his skin?
Eyewitness's Brother: No, only noise, like the buzzing of bees..ZZZZZ...could be heard.
Willie: The object then followed a course toward the airport?
Eyewitness's Brother: Yes, it took the "Milla de Oro" as if toward San Juan, and the airport is very close to San Juan. Wilfredo was there, who managed to see it much more closely. Especially if you're in the airport, you can see it better, as its a clear zone that allows for better visibility.
There are more witnesses who work as security guards. They saw the object much nearer. The security guards from this other location say that the object flew over them.

The Russian navy has declassified its records of encounters with unidentified objects technologically surpassing anything humanity ever built, reports Svobodnaya Pressa news website. The records dating back to Soviet times were compiled by a special navy group collecting reports of unexplained incidents delivered by submarines and military ships. The group was headed by deputy Navy commander Admiral Nikolay Smirnov, and the documents reveal numerous cases of possible UFO encounters, the website says. Vladimir Azhazha, former navy officer and a famous Russian UFO researcher, says the materials are of great value.
"Fifty percent of UFO encounters are connected with oceans. Fifteen more – with lakes. So UFOs tend to stick to the water," he said. On one occasion a nuclear submarine, which was on a combat mission in the Pacific Ocean, detected six unknown objects. After the crew failed to leave behind their pursuers by maneuvering, the captain ordered to surface. The objects followed suit, took to the air, and flew away. Many mysterious events happened in the region of Bermuda Triangle, recalls retired submarine commander Rear Admiral Yury Beketov. Instruments malfunctioned with no apparent reason or detected strong interference. The former navy officer says this could be deliberate disruption by UFOs.
"On several occasions the instruments gave reading of material objects moving at incredible speed. Calculations showed speeds of about 230 knots, of 400 kph. Speeding so fast is a challenge even on the surface. But water resistance is much higher. It was like the objects defied the laws of physics. There’s only one explanation: the creatures who built them far surpass us in development," Beketov said.
Navy intelligence veteran, Captain 1st rank Igor Barklay comments: "Ocean UFOs often show up wherever our or NATO’s fleets concentrate such as near the Bahamas, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico. They are most often seen in the deepest part of the Atlantic Ocean, in the southern part of the Bermuda Triangle, and also in the Caribbean Sea."
On Thursday,February 25, 2003 Mrs. Elba Rivera and her husband, as well as other several people, sighted from the parking lot of Santa Maria Shopping center located in Rio Piedras (metropolitan san Juan), a large sized shiny silvery isosceles triangle shaped UFO. The triangle seemed to be motionless in the sky, and even though it appared to be miles away, they described its size in some 3 inches at arms length. This indicates it must have been huge in size. It seemed to be suspended over the region of the city of Bayamon.
The triangle remained motionless in the sky for about a minute until a dark cloud came from the east and covered it. When the cloud moved away the triangle had disappeared from sight.
Last Thursday,March 4, 2004 she, as well as several other people, observed another UFO, this time it was a shiny large silvery cilynder shaped object. She described its size as "...almost six feet long", again, seen from a distance of several miles away. The object flew from west to east and disappeared from sight in a matter of seconds. In this ocassion the UFO was sighted by residents in the areas of College Park and Altamesa, in Rio Piedras. On both ocassions the sightings occurred around 5:00 - 6:00 P.M.

According to Martin, the recent upsurge in sightings began with an underground explosion near Lajas in the southwest part of the island Near Lajas is Laguna Cartagena, a small body of water of uncertain depth, polluted from agriculture runoff and illegal sewage drainage. The lagoon is unusual in several aspects, not the least of which is its shape: from the air, the grassy border of the lagoon looks uncannily like a map of the United States. The lagoon is also known for its large and unusual waterfowl population, some species of which are unique to the lagoon. For years, people living near the lagoon have witnessed balls of light coming and going from the water. Then, in | |late May 1987, the phenomenon began to change. At 10:30 p.m. on May 30, a large red buzzing ball of light was seen descending into the lagoon. At 2:00 a.m. May 31, people in the area were awakened by a blinding white light. Those brave enough to go to their windows saw a huge disc shaped object with brilliant lights circle slowly over the water, as if looking for something.

On the 19 of January of 1967, several illuminated devices crossed the sky of the western coast and seemed to submerge in the Mona Channel (Canal de la Mona) , being witnesses of this sighting residents of the Cerro de las Mesas, in Mayagüez and neighbors of Aguada and Hormigueros.
Some of these witnesses of the Cerro de las Mesas were Agustin Cruz, Carlos Garcia, Héctor Cruz and ldalí Cordero.In Aguada the witnesses were, Jose and Ramonita González, as well as René Acosta.In Hormigueros, they were seen by Agustina Colón, Monserrate Ortiz and Margarita Cruz.
A luminous display, constantly changing its colors" This phenomenon lasted about 20 additional minutes, after which the object appeared again "like a point of shining red light on the horizon".
Then it moved in a northwest direction, near the witness’ line of the horizon with a series of descending and ascending movements, in zigzag fashion "moving at times in an undecided way, just as a butterfly flies on a flower”. In one occasion, "it moved upwards in a series of zigzags, reversing completely its direction each time".
This erratic series of movements and without apparent purpose continued while the object moved towards the northwest, until 8:00 p.m., when finally it went off sight.
Events such as the previously described had become, with the passing of years, something somewhat common in the sector of the Mona Channel, to the west of Puerto Rico.
The Canal de la Mona [Mona Channel] is an arm of the sea or strait that separates the Island of Puerto Rico from the Dominican Republic. The small island of Mona is found almost exactly between the two Antilles.

5.12 USS Gyatt – November 20, 1964. The USS Gyatt was stationed in the Atlantic about 220 miles NW of Puerto Rico, when its radar detected a bogey approaching the island from the Northeast at speeds exceeding Mach 1. The USS Gyatt relayed a message to Roosevelt Roads Navy Base in Puerto Rico, which then contacted an F-8C aircraft of Utility Squadron Eight. This aircraft was already flying at an altitude of 30,000 ft over Puerto Rico. The aircraft reported a stranger closing in very fast. The pilot of the F-8C described the object as delta shaped and about the size of a fighter.Its color was black or gray and had no lights. It had no contrail but had a light source emitting from the tail during periods of acceleration. The pilot pursued the bogey but could not intercept.The target accelerated out of sight in a wide starboard turn climbing through 50,000 feet at about 18°-20° angle of climb in excess of Mach 1.

"On Monday, January 5, 2009 at 11:00 pm, several witnesesses reported the maneuvers of two red spheres coasting along the sea, parallel to State Highway 2, which connects the cities of Ponce and Guayanilla.
According to several witnesses, both objects were traveling in formation, one following the other at prodigious speed and low altitude toward the West. On January 6 at 7:34 p.m. witnesses from Lajas, Cabo Rojo and Guánica reported three red spherical lights moving at high speed. When interviewed, these witnesses confirmed that the objects were noiseless and traveled from West to East along the sea.
