I love Canada myself. I've Been to Toronto twice. Back in 1994 I actually saw "Phantom Of The Opera" there. It was a great show. Then back in 1992 when I was in elementary our class visted some school and we met out pen pals. I used to go to Windsor all the time to gamble my money away, it was the cool thing to do because your drinking age is younger then ours. Heck, I was eve chearing for the Blue Jay in the World Series when Joe Carter hit the go ahead home run.

We should reallu pay attention what's going on in Canada. You have better health care and a hold on gun control. Mad respect for that.

Yeah New Yorkers think they are hard because they are from the Bronx or Queens. Doesn't impress me!

scrambledeggs, I agree with you but asking something like this is useless. Most of these haters will not come out right and admit they hate America. They will talk down to you or jab with you a veiled insult.
What we as Americans must do is stick together, maintain our patriotism, resolve our own problems and not allow opinionated pansies whom allowed their own countries to turn into socialist states tell us Americans what we should do, whom we should elect, how to run our contry, what to believe in etc etc etc.
Think about the kind of person it takes to make such statements. I never get into conversations like this with such people because I will defend my beliefs by any means necessary and I hate resorting to violence but I am a man and I have limits on how much taunting one can take.

Scrambledeggs, what we as Americans have the power to do is elect someone that shares in the same ideals as you and I do.
Whether that man is McCain or Obama, that is our choice as an American.
The foreign haters bash America so much but they have no power to do anything about our internal politics so they turn to infecting less strong minded Americans with their opinions, this is where it can get dangerous. This is why we must stick together and promote an American way of life here at home.

Thanks recon, I just look at things for what they truly are. You know the saying about the duck? Well I have one about our government. "If it looks like a bomb, sounds like a bomb, and causes destruction like a bomb, it must be the U.S".

What people don't realize is that they are not only attacking other nations but also their own people. I'm just trying to spread the word to anyone that will listen no matter how unpatriotic or anti-American I may sound. On several occasions I have copped it for expressing what others consider anti american sentiments . In a sense they are right but what we are seeing is the evil few manipulating the many through blind unquestioning patriotism . A true patriot Always questions abuse of power. thats what has brough america to its knees . Abuse of power .

The education system favours the few through the ivy league network .
Everyone else gets the propagandised version .

If you want to control the population you keep them dumb ,hate filled and prejudiced . Same in war ,demonise the enemy so you can convince your soldiers on the front line that what they are doing is justified .

How many vets have come home racked with guilt and shame about what they were forced to do ? Its tragic .

I know how that feels .

The powers that be have always tried to keep americans culturally isolated from the rest of the world . Only ten percent of americans have a passport !
That isolation leads to blind prejudice .

If I told you ,would you believe me ?

I currently reside in Australia . I was born in europe into an international family so I dont really have what you would call a strong sense of a national identity . I did live in the US for a while when I was younger . I had a great time . Did and saw a lot . I dont think anyone is qualified to critisice a country unless they have at least lived there for a while.

So really its a case of wherever I lay my hat being my home for now .

I really miss the US sometimes . Not the shopping malls and the material stuff . I miss the mountains and rivers and forests . Nature .
We had a little cabin in the woods ,my gf and I . Happy days ,simple pleasures ,healthy food and making love . What else do you really need ?

Off topic some, but what do you suppose the odds are that somebody's torn down that cabin and put up a mall by now?

We do have beautiful nature here, but we spoil it more every day. Somewhere along the lines, somebody has diverted the environment debate to "oil supply" and "global warming."

Nobody talks anymore about just keeping the country beautiful. It's ironic, considering a beautiful land would automatically be a healthy one.

Maybe that's another reason people hate us? We found the Garden of Eden and we frickin' paved it.

dude ,you just Know the bastards have turned our little block in to a parking lot . It was only a matter of time . So we pissed off while the going was good .
Me ,I love going off on a tangent , its what keeps me alive in every sense of the word .

I used to feel real shame whenever I met a native american , I can tell you that much . My wife and I used to apologise to them for being white .
No joke . And you know , Christian fundamentalist america DOES have a lot of blood on its hands . You cannot erase that guilt . You must face it and make amends .

White americans generally dont FEEL the land and love it . They pave the #ter out of it and call it progress .

I always felt welcome in the company of native americans .They have no precious illusions about the american dream . It was the white american conquest ,rape and genocide of their home land .

Greed has characterised and undermined the US and now the borrowed time and money is being called in . denial will not stop that happening .

I hope and pray that the pain will sober americans up and make them see whats important . That the churches will crumble with their lies and leave the spirit of the land to reclaim her own .

We have a native american in our unit .this post is dedicated to him and all his people .

I live in Canada, but I have many friends who live in the United States, I like the country and have met many wonderful "Americans". Sure there are ingnorant and rude people there, but hell, I can say the same about most countries, including my own. As for the person who said he/she was tired of the stupid questions from "Americans" I sometimes think people are joking or just looking to get a remark.

I am not a fan of the US government nor many of it's policies, but hell I feel the same way about my OWN govenment here in Canada.

So I don't hate "America", and I certainly don't hate Americans.

Yes we have Free Healthcare, and I am all for that, however, it seriously suck the bag, when because of this you have to wait months and months for treatments and tests, in the mean time your condition worsens and much more. We have a serious doctor and nurse shortage up here because a lot of the doctors and nurses are going to work in the United States where they can make better money. We need healthcare reform here.

I am in favour of gun control too, but I don't really know if it has done any good in my country.

What the heck do I know though, I live in my nations capitol and it smells when you're downhill from the hill where they all "work".

I don't hate Americans at all, as stated previously. I have to admit, I had a less tolerant attitude before, when I was much younger but that was when I listened to what other people had to say , and not deciding for myself. I have since had the fortune to visit quite a few States, and have met some great, great people. I have some friends who live in the
States. I surely don't hate it, as I said, but I don't necessarily like it's politicians, then again i don't like the politicians here either.

Well if so many hate America, then protest your Countries taking our money!!!

I grew up in the Greatest Country on this planet, the United States of America.

I've lived in 13 other countries and yes this country was once a Great Nation.

In the 1970's a President Jimmy Carter (D) came along and started the slide to a NWO.

Then we had a President that fought against the NWO slide from 1980-1988 Ronald Reagan. Alas, he did what he could to stop the flow but not enough.

Then America endured 4 years of George H. W. Bush (R) with a resurgence of The World Order.

Ousted by William Jefferson Clinton (D) in 1992 was also the bag for a New World Order President.

Then came along George W Bush (R) - more of the same.

Now we have a choice again, neither is a good choice for FREEDOM!

I think the slope may be much to high to climb back up to get back the Federal Republic we've lost. America was never supposed to be a Democracy but a Federal Republic with a small Federal Government.

When America came off the Gold Standard on April 20, 1933 made and set forth by then President Franklin D. Roosevelt (D) was the biggest slide of all.

So you see, the Elites control everything you see (tv), hear (radio) and read (newspapers). Last thing I can say is FREEDOM

There is only one way for real freedom and that sickens my heart –
REVOLUTION - which will start the process all over again.

I know like most big powerfull nations of the past , Americans enjoyed being the winning side for a long time and their patriotism was bolstered by that . BUT ego inflation is the result and when ANY nation gets that mentality , hubris is inevitable and the end results you are seeing now.
ME ? I dont hold much store by where I was born . I just want to live in peace ,enjoy a few simple pleasures .
When America financed Hitler they went down that dark slippery slope to the same fascist conclusion. American dollars are poison to any soveriegn nation because they come with so many strings attached ,the main one being loss of soveriegnty !
So lecturing others about your wonderfull generosity with $'s does not wash to well .

Empires come and go , accept the change ,get some humility and stop blaming the world for being ungratefull to america when post war you abused every UN charter on the books !

Uhmn it's actually a JOKE that was on the internet, and in the version I saw, it wasn't a Canadian, and if it was supposed to be, I don't know many Cadadians who speak with that thick of an Irish brogue....

America has fond memories for me I married there
I have never felt so at home anywhere then the time I spent in America,if I had my choice I would pack up today and live there.....

yes ,I hear you there. Perhaps thats why I am so angry at what is happening in the US . I used to rant on to my ex about how america was loosing sight of whats important but she was your all american sorority babe who would hear no evil about american politics . Then she went in to politics ....
