All news agencies use it. As do all presidential speaches. Sit down and read a few. The sheer quantities of grade A, all American, red white and blue
BS cotained there in is embaressing and staggering.
Do you ever get the feeling that "programming" is a very old practice?
We live on a planet where it seems we aren't supposed to see or know certain things. Not just here on earth, but outside of earth. Censorship all
over the place.
You're a nut for believing that there is life outside earth. You're a nut because you can observe things and find the truth.
That poor guy on FOX wasn't there for an interview. He was there to be trashed as an individual, and for his ideas to be invalidated. There is
something sleezy going on with the media outlets.
And I think your example is proof that even a logician and expert in the pertinent subject matter can fall prey to this technique just as easily as
anyone else. I'm saying this because I have gotten involved with some of your threads and they are very intriguing and because I know you have
written books and have TONS of knowledge that most people simply don't have.
This guy in the video clip isn't exactly some sally who doesn't know how to be a good orrator either. He's a college professor and probably a
distinguished expert on the subject of 9/11. The idea that one could overcome NLP manipulation if you are a good orrator/speaker and have enough
knowledge of the subject-matter simply doesn't make sense to me. The entire idea is to nullify any argument that is made by the other person and
dominate the conversation regardless of what they have to say or how they say it.. NLP is a great tactic for discrediting, controlling, and
manipulating people into feeling belittled and intimidated.
If people don't even give you time to answer a question becuase they feel it's going to make them look like an idiot and give you more control over
the discussion/debate, they can use these NLP techniques to take back control of the situation by interrupting and continuing to belittle you in the
eyes of any outside observers watching and/or listening to all of this unfold.
As for the media separate from NLP..
I have been saying for years that most news networks never take anyone seriously if it has anything to do with aliens, ufo's, bigfoot, or anything
involving conspiracies.. They simply laugh about it like its some kind of circus sideshow, false news story that people are just making up, and then
they move on with the story. The concept of remaining unbiased simply does not exist anymore in the media like they are somehow some kind of
self-proclaimed experts who know what is real and what isn't.. When most of these people have absolutely no idea what they're talking about from the
very beginning..
I also just remembered this thread that was started a few months ago, here on ATS,
involving FOX news flashing TV subliminals of John McCain..
FAIR AND BALANCED??
Wow, I`ve come to the conclusion, these guys shouldn`t be called reporters or news casters, they should be called propaganda pushers, for pushing onto
the people what the media tells them to push. It`s scary when you see the media being used as such a tool for someones elses agenda.
First off, does anybody know which episode he says this in? I've watched a lot of Penn & Teller episodes, but I don't recall when he said this.
Secondly, I find this to be another good example of "Neuro-linguistic programming" used in a deliberate manner. When he says "shut", he is
pointing to the man he is addressing in the video (don't know who since I don't know the whole video), and when he says "the -", and "up", he
uses the "666" hand symbol very precisely, showing he's well versed in it.
When I first saw this, I thought it was just going to be another "Illuminati Satanic Hand Signs" video, but it was actually very interesting. Most
of what he was saying was eerily true (I am going to ignore the bit of numerology though). I thought I was good at spotting when people are trying to
influence opinions, but this went into so much depth and I really learned alot.
I can totally empathize with you here. Once you learn about certain things like NLP, or take for instance subliminal advertising, it is almost
impossible for me to sit in waiting rooms and pick up magazines. I mean i look at the adverts and it is just so obvious what they are doing.
Same goes for NLP, once you start to get a little knowlegdable in it, you can't help to be aware of it, and it makes watching television very
difficult. You can barely follow an interview, or even a storyline, with all the bombarding of NLP, symbolism, subliminals ect, it becomes very, very
annoying, and it can give you a headache.
But again I will point people to Derren Browns bicycle NLP session with the other Brit, don't know his name but I believe he's a famous television
personality over there. But anyhow I point people to that because it contains everything Subliminals (the entire room, screams, red bicycle
basiclally) Heavy use of NLP, different types as well, some where he says a word but it sounds like he's saying something else . He starts out on the
guy with "Let me explain to you how I "bike" gifts for people, I find this is the best way to "handle-bar" none, and what to "saddle" for, all
the while anchoring the guy with a handshake hypnotic archor, or induction, whatever you wanna call it. He goes on and on like this it's just a great
piece of work.
Even better when he leaves the key word out like he can't think of it, and leaves it to his mark to tell themselves more or less. He's also very
good at rapid speech the guy can talk extremely fast, and slip in words like you'd slip a subliminal frame into a movie reel. Also it is very simple
to understand. Even without watching the reveal you can pick up on a few things if you've enever even heard of NLP before.
It's just one of the best introductions to NLP, I find, because it's entertaining, and contains many different teqniques. I can still watch it today
and find new stuff that wasn't picked up in the reveal, when i listen and watch closely.
But no, he's not the Father of NLP, nor the best. But I think he's one of the most entertaining people to watch. What he does requires intense
concentration, memorization, and practice.
Again the above scene is not even his best work, it's probably one of his worst, but it's the simplest to understand. That is why I like to show
this to people new to NLP.
Some of his other stuff is way more complex, he also doesn't just do NLP, hypnosis and the like. He does amazing memorization feats. He's a
fantastic performer, imo.
What a mess this thread is turning out to be. Pretty soon everyone will be afraid to watch TV.
If NLP really worked on TV we would all be walking around like programmed Zombies doing everything they told us too. Why be a dictator and take our
freedoms away? just spitt out some words and hand gestures and everyone will be your slave.
Look, like I said before, NLP is not so simple. My best friend is one of the top mentalists in Europe, friend of Luke Jermay (the guy who makes many
Derren Brown routines), Vincent Lynch, and all the top players. Not only NLP doesn't work with crowds, it doesn't even work on 2 people at once. You
have to have a connection, rapport, strong eye contact, you have to pace and lead, you have to make compliance tests, and you must make sure that
person is in a trance before you give any suggestions.
Manipulation of crowds is very different. It is mostly based on repetition and other manipulation techniques. there are some books about it, and
even a post in this webiste if I'm not mistaken.
Besides, no master can apply NLP or Hypnose on you unless you follow his lead. That's why my friend can pull all the Derren Brown stuff on people
but can't do a thing on me ;D
Very nice video. Now I now why back in the days I used to go to those fancy stores just to look, and I was fine until some one came to help me get
something or just to show me around, then I felt the need to buy something. Something that it was going to sit in the bag for months before I put it
to use or gave it away because I really didn't need it.
Knowledge is the best weapon, offensively or defensively or both!
It could be that it is fake but it is pretty interesting to watch. Here Derren Brown uses a Shopping Mall intercom to make the shopping Masses do
some things without them being aware that he is telling them to do it. A crowd, no eye contact, no hand movement..... Although saying that.. most
Mall crawlers do wander around like they are in a trance....MUST...BUY.... CRAP....
This is what ATS is all about. I read about NLP years ago when studying human psychology.
The scary thing is over half the population has never heard of it! And FOX News was the number one cable network news station in 2007. Let Freedom
Ring!!
There's not a lot of media NLP breakdown videos on the net. Go to youtube though and look for "Disney Subliminal message", you'll find A LOT there
lol. Beauty & the Beast is one of the most evil films Disney made IMO.
Haha, I know how to do that one. It has nothing to do with what the Fox repporter was doing, or for that matter NLP.
Ok, basicly most people in a mall are already in a trance state and open to suggestion. So, you just need to play a tape with hypnotic suggestions
over and over that basicly tell you "when you hear word X" you will put your hands up. it's basicly hipnotism. Also Derren never uses NLP alone in
the other videos. He mixes Ericksonian Hypnosis, NLP, Psychological Subtleties, Mentalism, etc. That's what makes him so good.
Wow - am I the only one who sees the irony here? So many people that are in their trance about how evil Fox news is simply because they lean to the
right. Perhaps some of us are so tired of the sheeple spouting off about our government flying planes (or "holograms":@@ into the twin towers
because of the suggestion put into their heads. When someone says that they believe that middle eastern terrorists hijacked planes on that day, they
are the ones ridiculed by the hypnotised.
For crying out loud, I'm certainly not a McCain supporter, but the hypnotised masses are going to try to put into the White House a person who has
vaguely promised "change". Obama has zero foreign policy experience, zero experience in the Senate since he has been campaigning to be President
since becoming a senator in 2005 - in fact, the ONE big bill with his name attached to it is called the "World Poverty Act" and it would take 845
billion dollars from American taxpayers and redistribute it to other UN nations. So, while you are saying the right leaning thinkers are in a trance,
you are about to choose to have your income redistributed not only to the rest of the world but also to the people in America who feel that they
don't want to work and would rather sit in mommy or daddy's basement in internet discussion groups claiming to be masters of manipulating people
while not noticing that they are, for the most part, being ignored. You have been hypnotised into calling Bush a Nazi or commie or similar, not even
realizing that you are trying hard to put a true socialist into office. If you are successful, I guess I'll see you in the bread lines comrade.
not even realizing that you are trying hard to put a true socialist into office. If you are successful, I guess I'll see you in the bread lines
comrade.
But I'm the one who is being manipulated.
Uh... Obama is hardly a true socialist.
We are all being manipulated if you want to get philosophical... Are you saying there is nothing to the links the OP provided? You can't see
what's going on there even though a narrator is explaining every bit of it (NLP)? I'm not bashing FOX news only... other news networks do it
also...
