At first I believed in JT but then started to dismiss it all together. But then I started to think that it could have been a guy on the inside or for the building in NY it could have been a terrorist that knew what was to come with that and the war in Iraq. But I have to admit, I know OF John Titor but I havent read much about him to know everything he has said. And for CERN, I did read about that one.

im sorry but 'thinking like someone from his timeline' is not necssary when the information he gives about his mission is fraudulant. Moores law says that the number of transistors on a chip will double every 18-24 months. Moores law was brought about in 1965, titor came back to 75 or 77. That means for the computers to be compatible, and i'm talking compatible at all (legacy devices, the exact words he used), their tech would have to be 50 years behind ours for this computer to be useable. If their computer tech is 50 years behind ours a time machine is out of the question, and pretty much largescale nuclear war is also.

I don't really care or want to refute Mr. Titor. It seems he was right about beef. Does anyone want to refute me about that after Korea? That's enough for me! He talked about war within the US, I'd say that it's not far off with all of this red and blue states crap! If he wasn't right than I have got to hand it too him, he's done a fantastic job! He talked about a shift in time so our time must be somewhat different than his.

If I was one of those people that actually believed that crap, I'd be quite impressed! Who cares? He has a message that we should ALL listen too.

Although I don't believe time travel is possible under the context presented by John Titor, I do leave myself room, and luxury, allowing myself to be wrong on this issue.

From an impartial standpoint I can see where John's predictions could be totally true, yet be totally false since his knowledge of history would be tainted by those who wrote it and rewrote it. It would be left to whose version of history John was versed in as to what he knew to be true and what he thought would happen.

It would be much like any of us. IF we could return to the past, we would find that certain events that we were taught happened in a certain and well defined manner resulted from events that weren't so well defined at the time they were occurring, i.e. did World War start when America was attacked at Pearl Harbor or was America drawn into an existing war?

Without having a comprehensive knowledge of the history that John was taught, we remain at a loss to dismiss his postings based on date and events.

Likewise if any of us were sent back to a time before we were born, how many of us could speak of the events of that time with any clarity other than what we had read in history?

Wow, how little you know. They have created micro black holes. Which is a rip in the fabric of spacetime is it not?

ok well i've been holding this back mainly because i could care less but i did meet a kid in my middle school about 3 or 4 years ago and i do live in Florida it was in mariner middle school he could still be on records but i never really cared if it was true or not it was in cape coral Florida west of Ft. Myers hes in high school now i would think we weren't really friends not really acquaintances somewhere between there

That would be where the Novelty comes in, and the Universe is a novelty-conserving engine. Therefore should we assume that intergalactic travels is possible, we must also then presuppose that time travel is also possible as both are ideas so far removed from Levels of Novelty currently allowed withing the limitations of our Space/Time.

We currently do not know whether or not Artificial intelligence is possible, but surely when it comes into existence a New period of novelty will have been entered. We could then rightly assume that both the problems of time and space travel will be solved with the aid of this new Entity.

One can only hope some other person does not come along and give us another Heavens Gate type cult based on this myth created by this Titor fellow or even another Scientology travesty.

Actually whether Titor was real or not is a question you don't need to wrestle with..

The question should be do you believe in multiple realities. If String theory / M-theory and Loop Quantum Gravity are correct... (I advocate LQG) and there are indeed an infinite number of realities where every conceivable outcome happens running simultaneously... then you have no choice but to believe the Titor story...

Let me quantify..

Logic 101...

If the total potential possible outcomes equals infinity Then...

1. All outcomes are true
2. All outcomes are false

So the real question here is this...

Are we living in a reality where john Titor is the Story???

Or..

Are we living in a reality where John Titor's story is True???

I am a physicist and there were a few holes in the Physics presented by Titor but on examination these inconsistencies can be easily explained as titor himself exclaimed he was not picked for his physics knowledge... in other words he knew enough to work the machine but not the exact details of how the machine worked...

I might also add that many of my previous students have branched out into different specialism’s and conveniently forgotten the details of their base physics learning.

I would be more inclined to think Hoax if the physics was air tight as the story was so well thought out in every other respect why not come up with the exact physics as well??

Another thing to think about here is....

The Titor view of reality is far more acceptable as a real world working modal than most people here know. Johns version of reality solves a very perplexing issue... the Paradox....

The paradox has bothered physicists for many years and has lead even leading scientist such as Steven Hawking and Kip Thorn to disbelieve time travel is possible...

A paradox goes something like this...

You jump in your time machine and travel back to meet your grandfather, where he accidently get’s killed through your interaction with him, so he could never have met your grandmother and so your father would never have been born and so he would not have met your mother and so you were not born so you couldn’t have gone in a time machine in the first place as you don’t exsist...

If you don’t exist then how could you have killed your grandfather??
However....

Titor was not a time traveller in the sense of travelling through time only... Time and space are connected more fundamentally than many realise... it may seem a little hard to conceive of but time actually doesn’t exist in it’s own right.

Titor was a Slider. He would slide from one potential reality to another. So if he did kill his grandfather it would not be his grandfather as it would be a different reality a different world a different universe.
Which solves the paradox issue.

So again I ask you...

Did someone who had watched the 1990's TV series 'Sliders' decide to make a nice story for everyone to role play or was he real??

My answer is honestly I don’t know, but one thing I can say for all certainty.... No one here or anywhere else will be able to disprove Titor, the tale (if that is indeed what it is), is like a Möbius strip, there is no answer or end to it.

Thank you... the IBM 5150 in question, yes it had a back door..... but like above said Moores law..... just puts all this to BS and nothing more

What causes the war or civil unrest is unclear to me.. what is clear is he says something about unrest in 2001 that has taken place in 2005.

From what I observed I find this a real turning point in American history where I saw and heard of civilians being herded and treated as foreigners in their own country! And those who felt their rights and liberty was violated were not of one race or nationality.

Just because this person did not give out a ruler with specifics does not lesson my observation on what I've read in this thread.

I'll be looking forward to reading up on this indvidual.

This is all hearsay... c'mon..... this stuff was all known about , but not all publicly known and the other is just rhetoric, its easy to take a value (a x B= c) geez.... i could have guessed all this when Titor was supposedly around... this crap is just like Nostradamus ... you can easily ascertain a bunch of holy crap out of it, just like the bible...... Frick Ezechiel saw the wheel... ohhh boy he saw a UFO........ keep looking to the stars... we will be imagined, one day... but NOT today..
