British scientists have developed a pill that they say is a male contraceptive. The pill combines two medications already used to fight high blood
pressure and schizophrenia. It would need to be taken several hours before intercourse, and its effects would last roughly 24 hours. The pill is
expected to be on the market within 4 to 5 years.

London scientists believe they may have developed a male contraceptive in the form of a pill.
The contraception is a combination of two medicines already in use. One treats high blood pressure and the other is used for schizophrenia.
Together, they temporarily block the body from releasing sperm during sex with no change in satisfaction and no hormones.
According to researchers, a man would take the pill and then wait several hours for it to take effect.
The effect would last for 24 hours.

I think if this is legit, it's great, and hooray for Britain! As one woman in the article said, the onus is no longer on the woman to practice birth
control. The added "safety factor" of both men and women being on "the pill" might finally give an option to those who cannot or will not use a condom
or practice abstinance.
I'm slightly skeptical about it since no specific names were given, either of the developers or the company sponsering the research. Other alleged
birth control pills for men have been based off hormones, which many men are prone to avoiding.
Of course, the downside is that now women get to find out what it's like to constantly wonder "are they really taking their pill every day on time?"
and "what if he stops taking it on purpose just to get me pregnant?"

If it does come to market it would be great for guys so they wouldn't have to worry if she's been taken her pills. But still better be safe
then sorry so guys should still wrap it up because birth control won't protect from STDs.
Just a reminder

Yeah but so do antacids, epilepsy meds, caffeine pills, water, and heart meds.
In fact, you'd be hard pressed to find any pill whose side effects don't include the very symptom you're trying to cure. So, perhaps a bigger side
effect to worry about would be an increase in motility.
Anyway, being happily married and shootin' fer some kids, I can sit back and watch to see what happens to other people that take it.

I'm a little skeptical and I don't want any permanent damages, everything has side effects. So I wouldn't throw out the condoms just yet, this is
one of those situations where you cannot afford to have an "oops...".

When it finally gets on the market, I doubt too many men will quibble over side effects. Remember, the female BC pill has plenty of side effects,
including the potential for bloodclots, yet that hasn't stopped women from taking it.
I guess we'l have to wait and see, but I will certainly keep this post up for my bf to check out.

Hallelujah! Rejoice! The time has come! No longer shall we of the great Y-chromosome live in fear of the broken Trojan! No longer shall we fall
victim to the wicked tongue of the X-chromosome! Never more has the reckoning been at hand! In the hollowed words of the Holy One, Mel Gibson...

High blood pressure and schizophrenia are probably the two factors leading to most unwanted pregnancies in the world, so this all makes sense.
Don't forget to take your pills, guys.

There are male contraceptives out there already.
It would be difficult for a guy to expect a woman to take a pill, every day, for the days that she does have sex. And it takes a month or so to
be effective too. With this, a guy can take the pill in the early evening, before he goes out, and he's covered.
it would be great for guys so they wouldn't have to worry if she's been taken her pills
Huh? Who do you think gets the short end of the stick if there's no contraceptive???
 lysergic

Hmm, thats true, you'd be pretty boring lysergic if you were on anti-psychotics.

Both people get screwed, pardon the pun, but guys don't have it easy, if you have a kid she has the law on her side and you by the brass.

You might be surprised how many psycho women are out there that will use pregnancy against a man. I would be interested to know just what percentage
of broken homes have this to blame.

The pill claims this can be taken "several hours" before intercourse.
If this works, and these guys don't end up plugging their tubes for life, I'm soooo investing on the upcoming "Trojan's Spear!" brand that will
no doubt form. I can see it now.. Viagra teams up with the Day Before pill.. to make the ultimate "several hours" before sex pill.
I'm gonna be rich!

Need I remind all superhero members and viewers here that this manpill still does mean you can act like a dog and try out every single three you see
standing in the forest. There are still STD's out there.
But:
its like that eject button for fighter pilots.
ya digg?
But, guaranteeing your safe of course. The manpill will help to be able to commit the pleasurable action of crash landing the fighter jet...

It looks to me that if they're used together, they'll cancel out each other. Viagra raises the blood pressure, while this one drops it.
