Kept the grandson home from school today. will keep him home tommorrow as well. See where this goes by sunday then reassess.

Schools are like a petri dish

My daughter cyberschools from home. My son is a high school freshman in our local school district.
I am trying to set a parameter at which I keep him home.
Hearing another member say that an infected person is being kept in isolation in New Jersey and no official announcement is a bit troubling.
I hope if I have to make that decision that I don't make it too late.

Virus can live on metal surfaces up to 21 days in the right conditions

Source? Know way this was info you received for your project. So where is this coming from? Info wrs and Alex jones?

First of all, when designing a temporary facility for a quarantine area, it is helpful to know what kind of materials the virus survives the longest on. This info pushed me away from using standard stainless steel countertops. You have been challenging everything I post since you created your login recently. I have been here for 10 years. Good luck with your disinfo campaign.

Amazing - 3rd case of corona virus in Uk confirmed and the main story in the daily mail is some dude having an expensive watch stolen, and the ever disappointing BBC is about some Scottish politician sending questionable texts to a 16 year old boy.

Etc.

Personally speaking I would be 1 billion times much more worried and concerned if an agent of the law started to send my 15 or 16 years old boy some kind of *questionable messages* than my country got hit by a virus which and according to last numbers only killed 2 persons out of China after all these weeks... (and not to diminish all of our Chinese friends suffering of course).

Contaminated water is a source of infection. nCov can establish itself in the gastrointestinal tract, so if you eat or drink some you will get infected.

Boiling water has been a good way to help sterilize it. Can take up 3 hours at 100 C to eliminate the hardiest of bugs. Increasing the water pressure allows for higher temperatures and faster sterilization times. This is more used in a hospital settings for a few rare strains of bugs. Most viruses and bacteria will break down much quicker than this.

Chlorinated water is another technique to help sterilize and commonly used for town water supplies.

Re the 3rd UK confirmed case.

One newspaper is saying they were tested ositive in Brighton and are being sent to one of the 4 facilities in London.

That would mean it's in the North and South, basically potentially from the top of England to the bottom.

Looking for advice,

I have to take a trip from FL to NJ in either early March or Mid April.

Best transit route? Was going to fly but now I'm thinking I might just want to drive.

First airport is DAB, layover likely in ATL/CLT, end NWK. The layovers and destination airport is whats concerning me, our local airport while 'international' is a joke. Normal day check in and tsa takez appx 12 minutes (lol).

I simply would refuse to go.

Its a trip to see my kid, so that is not an option.

Looking for solid recommendations on what to do. I know its risky, but it has to be done.

Good points in your post.

I do wonder if the concentrations of chlorine (ammonia is used in some municipal supplies) is high enough to kill the novel corona virus?

It really doesn't HAVE to be done.

You might feel bad if it isn't done, but if you do it and the worst happened - that would be worse than you having to temporarily call it off because "you have food poisoning" or something.

The Illness has a 14 day or so asymptomatic period. The first thread started on the 23rd. It would stand to reason that if this doesn't start showing large amounts of transmission in the next 48 hours, that the disease has largely been curtailed and that the problem will stay mostly isolated to China.

We need to stop acting like this is a genuine Happening, potential is there folks, but the large lack of death and transmission outside of China just isn't happening. And if you go back even further and assume this Virus was live and on the ground in China in early December, the timeline makes it even less likely that this is going to be a global pandemic.

I stand by my theory that China and more specifically Wuhan were hit by a released virus from their lab, whether accidental or intentionally, and that it is dangerous and really transmissible only to those in the vicinity of the outbreak. This novel corona virus is real, it is a SARS like infection , but it is just a scapegoat in order for China to initiate quarantine, and hide the fact that a biological weapon got released from their lab. By shutting down the country and treating the corona virus as the culprit, they have successfully diverted the normal world population from caring or looking into it too much, and places like 4 chan, ATS, etc... are the only place the truth will be uncovered, and at that point they can just point the finger at MUH CONSPIRACY THEORISTS.

Because you are saying outlandish #. With no sources or any verification. And IMO if you were this important a guy with this much info on a global pandemic you would not have the time to constantly post in this thread.

So what you been here 10 years. That means absolutely nothing.

When you post it can live on surfaces for up to 21 days that needs a source.

This is not INFO WARS

Answers I need:

If I were to rent a car, what cleaners shouls I use to decontaminate it?
Should I avoid highways/major cities?
Route around confirmed infection locations?
Avoid hotel stays?

Thanks in advance.

It is good, but it depends on the concentration. Swimming pools have a higher concentration of chlorine than drinking water supplies.

Some person sent some words to my son is 1 billion times worse than 28000+ at least infected people, 500+ dead, and the possibility it's going to spread farther and kill hordes of people.

Is 1 billion times worse than some words? Someone saying "You're cute" is worse than death?

Morality over practicality over reality.

Yea.. but not necessarily everywhere in between. The # of cases outside of China (that we know of at least), is still very small If in 10-ish or so days it has only grown very slowly (not en explosion of growth), maybe it won't break out like it has in Wuhan.

But then there are situations like a plane or a ship where 20% or more are infected. But those are perfect petri dishes as well - so who knows. I think it's been 17 days now since the first U.S. case, and how many are there now.. 12?
