They are allowed as part of WHO, but I believe there were not Americans in the WHO delegation. That may have been why it took two weeks to come up with an acceptable WHO delegation.

Gosh I hope not, I hope its only so high because they are redefining how they are classifying diagnoses and these may be suspected cases or past cases that were classified wrong.

It really looks like China decided to add a "pinch" of truth to the numbers in this recent release now that WHO are visiting the Mainland.

Keep in mind this doesn't necessarily mean the numbers have jumped by this much, this quickly, it's just a major jump up from what was being reported prior to China trying to play catch up.

That's my 2 cents anyway..

I'll check, my better and best half (surgical PA), but she stated US virologists/pathotologists/MD diagnosticians etc. have been recruited or already left to the area under UN.

She just had to do a rehearsal for protocols last week for this contagion.

The reason for the sharp increase is because Hubei province is now including clinically diagnosed cases in the number of confirmed cases. This means those cases are not laboratory confirmed. They say other provinces are doing the same.

I guess Singapore, Thailand, and South Korea are on the cusp of where China was telling us it was back in early January. So with roughly the same number of cases. You can't really look at Japan because their current numbers are skewed by the Diamond Princess although it bears watching as well.

Although, rest of world still shows better stats standing at 445 known, 1 death, and 17 serious/critical with 32 having recovered from that column. If medical systems get overwhelmed though, that could change quickly.

This is what happens when you let a bioweapon loose - accidentally.
By the time who know what is going-on, tons of people are already impacted, your medical establishment gets over-loaded, etc.
