I don't think it was the snow that brought it on, just coincidence. Although I do seem to get it more in the winter for some reason.

Does your diet change much in the winter ? You’re not much into alcohol , are you ? Thought I remembered you posting that you don’t drink much. If that’s the case , that is good because alcohol is not good for gout.

Hopefully it doesn’t act up too much this winter.😕

Stay well.. ✌🏼

Lol... Most of us still love our candy treats, and how can you pass up such good deals.

I find Halloween candy bars just the right size too. You can have more than one if you want, but often just a tiny one satisfies the craving. Same with the little Hawkins cheezies bags for Halloweeen. Perfect amount to satisfy that cheezie salt craving.

I've seen (old black and white) movies where gout was portrayed as an affliction that affected English people of class, wealth and age sitting close to the fire in winter while eating Stilton and drinking lots of Port.

Could be worse I guess.

You are correct about stating it was considered a desease of the affluent.

Gout is a condition that is related to arthritis. With gout, uric acid builds up in the blood and collects around a specific joint. Typically, this condition strikes the big toe, but can also appear in the ankle, knee, or on the hands and fingers. Sometimes called the “disease of kings”, gout has a reputation for being caused by overindulgence in rich, fatty foods, chemically-laden meat and fish, copious drinking and relative activities. It is unknown why some people are prone to developing gout, while others are not, although one theory is that genetics play a role.

That is awesome toffee, and I wasn’t aware there were Halloween sized portions. Then again maybe you bought full size. Used to love cracking a box of toffee on the sidewalk or counter as a kid , to break it up into edible pieces. Ahhh .. childhood memories, when the simplest of things gave so much pleasure.

Hello Ladies! I'm doing well, thank you. Life sort of goes on much as it has this year. Hanging out in a coffee shop waiting for Shepherdito #1 to have his karate class. Decided to come to the Shed, maybe write a bit more, perhaps take a look at the people I'm supposed to vote between tomorrow, etc.

I think it's great that one of your Sons is taking karate. It is a wonderful form of exercise, discipline and self defense.

Glad that you are still writing as that is one of your true passions and you are gifted.
