Malcom Jenkins, Chris Long, it goes on and on. A few NFL naive folks does not mean the "NFL protests" are all the same.

Or that we don't have a serious criminal injustice problem for every race. The blacks have been used for propaganda since Johnson and have payed the price but it's all of us being harassed, including the police. For 37k(Atlanta starting pay in bad area) a year and no maintenance training or fitness standards it's a terrible situation for everyone involved.

Pence's actions weren't any more fake and staged than the players kneeling for the National Anthem. Both sides are, and have been, disingenuous throughout all of this. Both sides have no other catalyst than to make themselves bigger than whatever cause they claim to be representing. It is shameless self promotion. And really, what causes are they "representing" anymore? Does it matter?

Until they back up their hollow gestures with actions (which NEITHER side has) it's all just empty grandstanding and just makes ALL of them look stupid.

Free speech gives them the right to protest however they want in this country, but I'm not even sure what the purpose of all of this is anymore. One thing I DO know is pissing off the hearts and minds you absolutely need to win in order to affect the change that you seek is not the answer. None of this has been the best way to address the respective cause for either side.

All it has served to do is to divide. Very sad the state of this country right now. Just a very dumbed down population. The once greater intellectual side of us has been reduced to ashes, as evidenced by moments such as what happened in Indianapolis yesterday.

There are 1000s of sports games every week where everyone stands, takes their hats off and pay respect...1000s... no grand standing no protests.

In my 28+ years in the military every day at 1700 the flag was lowered and all outside stopped and saluted, everyone, everyday....

The vast majority of America works hard, take care of their families, and get the job done...the vast majority...

A huge amount of what we debate here, see on TV, listen to on talk radio, read/watch on the internet has almost no influence in the vast majority of American lives, so the rambling, raging drunk we seem to see everywhere is like looking at a small insect under magnifying glass and seeing an elephant.

In the stands there are untold numbers of people who don't stand. Depending on my mood, i can sometimes be one. Well...less "mood" and more my physical condition at the time. But still...people shouldn't feel like 1000 eyes are on their every move, and that any minor indiscretion will be snapped onto Twitter with a 160 character tirade on your character.
