No seriously how much folks? Any ideas? Maybe one of the former Tea Party members on this great forum of ours can come out and give us a guesstimation? Taxed enough right? Small government right?

The first sign that Pence’s scurrying-off was staged: these were the San Francisco 49ers that the Colts were playing. The 49ers have been protesting racism during the anthem for over a year. Led by safety Eric Reid, the first player to kneel with Colin Kaepernick over a year ago, the 49ers are the team you’d pick if you wanted to fake outrage about someone peacefully protesting police brutality. Peter Alexander of NBC News tweeted almost immediately, “Reporters [accompanying Pence] were told to stay in van bc ‘there may be an early departure from the game.’” In other words, in advance of the anthem, Pence was planning to show up and then leave.

Then the veep’s own publicly available schedule tripped him up. That morning, his team let it be known that Pence would be at a California fundraiser by 6:30pm. The plane was gassed up and ready to go.

More.

Air Force 2 costs the government $42,936 an hour to fly, and estimated Pence’s trip to Indianapolis took about two and a half hours flying time, each way. That would put the flight’s cost well over $200,000.

And that doesn’t include the costs of a hotel room in Indianapolis, where Pence spent Saturday night, and extra police protection in Indianapolis. Fans at Sunday’s game were asked to show up early due to enhanced security at the stadium.

Oh but it's pocket change right? So who cares right? Well no it's not 'pocket change'. It's money that could gone to better use somewhere else like Puerto Rico? Texas? Lousiana is about to be hit. Florida got hit. How much plates of food could that money have created? Considering the constant outrage on this forum by the same characters over the last 8 years over government money use, tax payer funds used, pure silence over this. Silence over tax payer money being used for this stunt to suit ones ego. Pence and Trump knew full well some of those players were going to kneel. The only people claiming this was genuine outrage on the side of the Vice President are lying to themselves and everybody else.

You know the worst thing? This stunt will be forgotten by next week and all that money gone for good. All for this stunt that goes nowhere. Anybody who pushes the nonsense Pence is trying to get out there following this stunt really need to question where their priorities lie.

Here come the excuses.

You've repeated yourself twice there Oldtimer. Got your post the first time. Happy morning.

Funny how liberals all of a sudden care about spending,

Explain to me why was it ok for Pence and Trump to pull this stunt? Obama's not president, Trump is. We heard your hoot and hollering over the last 8 years. Why's your mouth shut this time? You think it's different this time? Please explain to me. Help me understand what makes this acceptable?

Cry some more crocodile tears. Had nothing to say when Obama and Hillary wasted massive amounts but suddenly are all triggered when Pence spends a fraction.

Wasn't this all originally about police brutality or something? Now what the hell are we talking about?

Why get all emotional and whine about it to a bunch of tax payers here, while assuming we are equally emotionally immature enough to be that partisan and not think taxes are too high?

V.P. Pence's trip was well worth the money. It got the publicity, and delivered results.

After Dallas Cowboy owner Jerry Jones got wind of what V.P. Pence did, he told his selfish millionaire players that, going forward, either they stand up for the Anthem, or not play in the game.

You betcha I'd cry crocodile tears. Because I know that money Trump wasted on this stunt could have gone to needy families in this country. What do you care though? Seriously? Your guy's in so head in the sand.

Had nothing to say when Obama and Hillary wasted massive amounts

What massive amounts? Explain to me a time Obama and Hillary pulled such a stunt using tax payer money?

Please, enlighten me.

You mean you have no issue him using tax payer money, more than $200,000 that could gone to those suffering else where in the country from hurricane storms, for this stunt? What is wrong with you? Since when was this ok?

At least you admitted it was a stunt. I'll give you props for that.

After Dallas Cowboy owner Jerry Jones

Jones can do whatever he wants. And the other owners can do whatever they want. As for this stunt and the wasted money, it's gone. Players will continue to kneel, this event will be buried under some other nutjob stunt from this administration.

Money well spent huh? Fiscal conservatism at it's finest.

This is to easy, ‘Obamas not president’

No his not. Why was it acceptable from Trump and Pence to blow $100,000s on this stunt? Instead of doing his job as president and attending to the real issues he's blowing tax payer money on this because he has a hard on that some players choose to kneel? By God, and you think this is acceptable? What other excuses?

Who cares? Pence matters since when...*yawn*.

How many plates of food? When individual Americans on average, throw away nearly half of their food in a year or nearly $165 billion annually. That'd be a lot of food for those places....except maybe for American Samoa.

Who cares?

You certainly don't. $100,000s wasted on a stunt to suit the presidents ego but you couldn't give a damn. Apparently it's acceptable to throw tax payer money away 'cause ya know Americans waste food anyway'? Not that food is the only thing many american families are suffering financially with (healthcare, shelter, disaster relief).

You think we have all the money in the world to waste on a president's ego?

Who cares right? You don't.

Well, that was a clueless angle to attack the OP from, now wasn't it?

Trumps spending on non-diplomatic travel alone, in the first half of his term, absolutely dwarfed Obama's spending over the same period, so much so that it is suspected that if his habitual trip taking continues, he will have wasted more money in one single YEAR, than Obama spent on such things during his entire damned Presidency.

So, as it happens, Obama was entirely frugal, when compared to the bloviating sack of cat vomit that the rest of the world laughingly refers to, but you refer to as your President.

But Obama?

Good to see deflections so early in the morning.

Obama is gone, Pence is scoring cheap political points for his master Drumpf.

I'm not sure you knew this but he's a major colts fan. Been to a lot of their games. So to say he chose this just to leave is stupid. What he had hoped was the players would be smart enough not to disrespect the flag with him there. They did he decided to leave in his own version of protest.

As far as wasting money we have to provide security to do that he needs a plane. We've been doing it for decades before that it was private trains. Everyone at some point is seen as wasting money remember Obama who would go on family vacations but fly separately meaning two jets had to be fueled to go to the same place.

If you didn't scream about it with Obama then we're most likely dealing with fake outrage. And I'll say the same thing I said about Obama as a nation we need to provide security and there are expenses involved in it.

Yeah kinda implied there bud. Mountain out of a mole hill as they say, as if there aren't bigger issues out there for you to use your small soapbox on.

Your persistence in the word "you" makes you look like an idiot. Strawman.

Who should care? You yourself statistically probably waste half your food, but Pence matters....because Africa could then be fed. Lol.

I'm not sure you knew this but he's a major colts fan.

Given he's an avid Colts fan and clearly of knowledge the players kneeling at these games, what did he expect when he attended? Answer is, he fully expected them to kneel, and he fully expected to walk out in return. $200,000+ down the goober for this stunt he pulled. You think this is acceptable? It's been fairly loud and clear in the media that players like Butler were kneeling.

With all the issues in the country they decide to waste money on this? Yes.

Obama who would go on family vacations but fly separately meaning two jets had to be fueled to go to the same place.

Really, two jets? What's your source. And presidential family vacations are not the same as pulling ego stunts at the expense of the tax payer.

Mouths shut on this issue after years of screaming fiscal conservatism and taxed enough already.
