And @ DB too.

THIS is exactly the attitude that this protest is aimed at. People that don't care for their plight...only at a higher level. More poopoo.

the average NFL player is lucky to make 1 mil.

If they keep this up, they will loose a significant portion of their fan base... those that want to watch football and don't care what the players personal issues are.

My gut tells me that the protesting players would not protest if they thought for a minute they could lose money as a result. Sure... the current players are protected by their contracts. They can't be suspended without pay for kneeling during the anthem. And I'll bet they all consulted their legal reps prior to protesting.

It's all about money and the NFL has enjoyed prosperity over the years because people like to watch these games as entertainment and entertainment only.

They are making a stand that could quite possibly end the NFL. I really don't want to see that happen, but it's happening before our eyes.

What will disrespecting the national anthem cure?

If it is something that will bring about great and wonderous change, I'll take a dump on the flag.

But you'll have to walk me through it.

Perceived institutionalized racism that is endemic throughout society but is especially prevalent within law enforcement. The fact that you and other are unaware of this fact, despite the fact that Kaepernick was pretty vocal about his reasons when he started taking a knee, is proof of what I said earlier in the thread. Instead of actually attempting to have a meaningful discussion regarding the topic those in positions of authority have chosen to deflect from the message.

That's why you're seeing more and more players across more and more sports joining in. The longer those in power attempt to make the discussion about the protest itself and not the message the more it seems like there is actually something going on.

Yet you are the one creating post after post online moaning about it.

I think its YOU and the others on here like you who seemingly have had their fragile feelings hurt by this.

This whole ordeal just like the rest of the SJW Movement is a charade.

If you all wanted to bring an end to militarized cops and how that plays out on Black America then you'd have as your centralized objective dismantling the War On Drugs.
AS I'VE STRESSED TIME AND AGAIN:
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Yet where were you all then?

Where are your threads?

Your petition.gov petitions?

DID YOU EVEN START A HASHTAG????

And it isn't about rights either. You've had all that (not to mention black president etc). In response it became open rioting and mob violence on random white people all witht he open nurture and support right in here ATS by the resident Nu-Liberals (you know who you are).

When asked WHAT DO YOU WANT in light of this it was "EQUALITY".
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Well WHAT is "equality"? Total socialism (Communism).

Go to hell with all this sort of BS. and quit playing coy with this subversive lets derail American agenda and just come out about what you're after. If you have to LIE your way in then you're just a bunch of little monsters and deserve the boot you're trying to turn this nation into (not that it wasnt already close enough as it was without your wannabe Leninist BS).

So give up the act we all can see through it, and change your avatar to the hammer and sickle so at least you can sport an ounce of credibility because acting like that isn't what all this sort of thing about just makes you a bunch of pathetic little liars of the worst manners.

Because these kinds of protests haven't been going on since last year. Trump's comments were merely the impetus for the teamwide protests we saw this weekend. Players chose to stand together as a show of camaraderie regardless of whether or not they actually agreed with what their teammates were protesting.

Social issues and problems with the black community with the government/law enforcement.

The country's existence has nothing to do with it.

Perhaps the players should protest by not playing at all. Now THAT would be an FU to the president.

Let's see them put their money where their mouth is...kneeling behind a contract is just pathetic and cowardly.

Many of these protesters don't wamt to have a serious discussion about the problem.

They want to yell racism, and if you challenge that, you are a bigot.

Trump discussed wanting to make poor black neighborhoods safer, and he was called a racist.

Protestors focus on the 10 unarmed blacks that have killed by police this year, but don't want to discuss the thousands of blacks killed by other blacks.

They want to label cops racist, and refuse to acknowledge that perhaps the reason there are more black violent interactions with police are blacks are committing more violent crime.

People are getting fed up with almost all aspects of culture, media, sports, music, hollywood, lecturing the same message with no room for discussion.

Trump said some mean things and people got upset.

Yep. Black POTUS + mayor + city council + police chief + police force and a black cop shoots a armed thug with a rap sheet a mile long and they riot burn down big chubnk of the city and beat and shoot random white people and you all come rushing into ATS to stick up for them. We all saw it all last year its all on record.

And white people and hispanics and everyone else gets beaten and killed and screwed over by cops too but NOPE its just about the blacks because CEO's are mostly white (or is it Jewish?!?!?!) like that does me or anyone I've ever known a damn bit of good. THATS RACIST.

I'm doubling up on this response because the answer is the same.

If there are problems (which there definitely are) in this country, then I am all for a meaningful debate and action to correct them. But interrupting my relaxation with more of the same is not conducive to making me want to have such a debate, just like waking me up in the middle of the night with a political ad is not conducive to getting my vote. There is a time and a place for such debates, and my relaxation time ain't it!

In addition, there can be no such debate as long as one side is insistent on removing my right to hold an opinion different from their own. That is not debate; it is tyranny. The continual protests against the results of a fair election have done exactly what I warned they would do back before January: every time I see a protest, my attention is no longer on why are they protesting, but why are they wasting my time watching their temper tantrum?

You want debate? DEBATE! You want to be ignored? DEMAND STOOPID STUFF.

I seriously hope the NFL tanks and these entitled SOB's get to work a real job at a real wage and see how they like that.

Here is the thing, These are not unsophisticated people. They are deeply aware of the risk of boycotts and controversy and the easiest and most economically safe path for them is to bow their heads and say nothing.

So what is more important that their paycheck? Why risk it?

Each of them asked that question and decided their are things more important than money, like standing up for what you believe in and speaking for those that don't have a voice. Despite what people like the President preach, some things do not have a price.

Why not ponder that for a little while.

Social issues and problems with the black community with the government/law enforcement.

Which issues? Which policies? Can you give me non-trivial examples? Where is this happening? What are the suggestions for correcting it? Who is responsible?

If you can't answer those questions specifically, then you're not protesting, you're throwing a temper fit.

The country's existence has nothing to do with it.

That's apparently what they're throwing their fit over... the National Anthem represents the country's existence, as does the flag.
