why don't we just take one of the national forest, wall it off except for a few entryways to allow migrating animals through, and move the far right and far left into it... they can either work together and learn to survive, or kill each other off...
let the rest of us.... THE MAJORITY... live in peace!!

Sorry but expecting a coming civil war is not slippery slope. It's inevitable outcome with the way things are shaping up.

Everyone concerned should have learned a lesson from the way Islam is taking over in areas of the west or how people have invested in impoverished downtown areas to "gentrify" them. Move into an area and take over the local politics, change the laws and create a place the way you want it to be. The American Redoubt comes to mind.

The only way to divide this country is through civil war.

Yes it should and people should be given ample time to decide where they wish to reside. Two families can not live under the same room.. it never ends will for either.
Couples that divorce before they hate the sight of each other...... can still remain friends but if they wait too long vindictiveness takes over and good will towards each other becomes out of the question.

It is far better to live through the uncomfortable feelings of having to move and start over.....than to live through elections where people just take turns making each other unhappy

The media is only focusing on the negative. " It bleeds it leads" type thinking signaling that they are in their last breaths. Dying animals can still be dangerous though. OP, I suggest you question the controlling interests in your own country's media and accept they may not be giving you the entire picture.
I would bet you a bill you drive across the U.S. hitting up random towns and cities your not going to see any riots or political strife, its a "smoke screen" with paid provocateurs (Soros) agitating both sides to stew political instability. They (MSM) are being brought to light as we speak and enough people will understand the con being played soon enough.
Also seems like many countries have a fascination with what happens here in the U.S., try and focus on your own country and let us continue focusing on ours. Which country did you say your from?

I agree with you.

I would be much happier if the Pacific states and Atlantic NE were their own countries and would leave us 'fly over' folks alone.

This ^^ is how the extremists on one side talk.

Try again.

Extremists want extermination not live and let live.

Oh yeah?

Guess what happens if the nation "divides".

The little blue areas have their interstates and airports blockaded. All people in them tiny blue specks, who are the only people dumb enough to get brainwashed into leaving the USA, begin to die after 3 days.

It would be the fastest and largest simultaneous siege warfare, where no troops required just let logistics and nature take it's course.

You better rethink that Einstein.

All the red areas will be stocked up on popcorn watching you all kill each other from the drone cameras giving minute by minute coverage.

Ask not what you can do for your country
Ask what your country can do for you
Because ______________________(insert minority complaint here).
When the playing field is finally level someone decided to was time to turn the board over.

I see Their Plan is working.

Three points:

1. First of all in the "reddest or bluest" states, that color represents nothing more than the way a percentage of the people voted in the last election (at most, about 60% in a good year).

2. Second of all, in the vast majority again, the actuality is that the states are all PURPLE ... a varying mix of "Red" and "Blue" for example in Georgia (considered a strong "red state") the mix was 51% Republican to 46% Democrat (3% were Libertarian). In the so-called flyover states ... the usual "split" is more like 60/40.

Interestingly in blue States like New York and California ... the "split" is also usually 60/40 the other way.

3. Most Americans are not red or blue. We are only offered two viable choices in most elections. The number of people identifying as Independent is now around 40% with the "sides" moving closer to 20 each.

It is the media and the politicians themselves that divide us. That and our own stubbornness.

I see a lot of really Red areas, and the blue ones are light blue, even in the inner city areas. There are no heavy blue areas in that pic of the nation which encompasses Chicago, Obama's locked down territory and New York City all the way up to Kennedy Country in New England.

If the country did actually divide, then soon following would be a real civil war with a lot of blood in the streets.

Since you like to think of yourself as a "thinker" ... go beyond a colored in map and look at the data.

Unless your thought doesn't extend beyond the equivalent of a crayon-drawing.

In almost every one of those areas the split is closer to 60/40 than the 100/0 you think you're seeing.

The reason why the USA would have a bad time separating is because most - not all - but most of the larger metro areas are very leftwing islands in a sea of "right wing" rural areas.

That in itself will cause armed combat if it ever comes to that. Sad, but true.

For example ... some of the words associated with your picture ...

Shifts in partisan preference do not necessarily mean the county swapped its overall support from one party to the other.

Your "map" shows shifts in ONE ELECTION.

Aside from local skirmishes between idiots and those they attack, mostly for show ... it doesn't serve TPTB to have extensive breakdown in the American markets.

maybe someone already pointed this out, i didnt read every post so sorry if im being repetitive here...

first, it will never happen for lots of reasons.

second, the hard left and even so called progressives are an extremely small minority compared to mainstream/mainstreet americans who hold fairly traditional values and they are the ones, the so called "silent majority" that very forcefully propelled Trump to the white house. These people are the ones who have the patience of Job with all the nutballs out there wanting to police our language and behavior but mark my words, once the "red line" is crossed they will come out in full force against any nonsense and put it down good and hard.....and the lefties better hope it never comes to that especially with someone like Trump in the white house.

The left is totally outgunned and outmanned in every conceivable sense of the word.

(this is coming from a self described "liberal" all my life until the PC culture went off the rails, then i had to choose the side that actually pretends to care about logic and reason)

The silent majority was 46% then? When 55% voted against Trump?

Interesting.

That's the math, lol.. at least on average..

98% of scientists.. 80% of intellectuals, all the teachers roughly..

Every scientific or political study ever done , from either sides pollsters , show that the GOP/conservatives get the evangelical community, big buisness types who want less taxes, uneducated white blucollar types and since obama the majority of the conspiracy crowd...

I don't think ANYONE would even argue that..

Why do you think they had to convience the GOP base that "all the media, scientific community, unions , college professors, teachers , exc are in a vast conspiracy to make republicans look bad and discredit Jesus FOR OBAMA!!!"

lol...

Which to be fair is probably the reason for the overwhelming lack of scientists and intellectuals on the right...

When your party platform is that all the scientists are faking global warming, they might take offense lol...

i believe at least 1 million votes were fraudulent and perhaps many more. Are you not aware of the ease with which the voting machines can be tampered with?

Trump won with one of the worst victories in history..

Crap turn out, against an incredibly unpopular candidate AND lost the popular vote..
