Karen Handel (Republican) 53.2% 104,223
Jon Ossoff (Democratic) 46.8% 91,657

Currently a landslide, but lots of votes still to come in from Democrat strongholds, so projection is still only +1.8 Handel

Handel has a 10,000 vote lead with 50% reporting... nah, let them get busy crying in their beer.

You say dysfunctional, I say desperate. The 2016 collapse of The Narrative™ would seem to be continuing even now, 8 months after it truly became obvious that it was collapsing. I'm not sure the Democrats have any ideas or, perhaps more importantly, any qualified people to stop it from continuing, either.

Exactly right you are, Burdman. I might add that if Republicans don't get their act together and deliver a greater, more prosperous America in the next 12 months, they should be ashamed of themselves. NOTHING can stop them...but them.

CNN think that if Ossoff loses its because he didn't attack Trump enough. Expert analysis.

They haven't mentioned possible Russian hacking of the software yet, but it's coming. They just have to find some way to tie it to Trump's family.

Democrat precincts in Dekalb still to come... some people are desperately working out how many votes they need to add on to the real count to win

Excellent post!

This is exactly right.

How about getting back to making POLICIES?

I remember making a post months ago about how union members are staring to switch Republican. The dems have became so insane in only focusing on narratives that they are losing what used to be the heart of their party.

NYT projecting any where from a .8% win for Handel to a 4.7% win for Handel.

They have effectively given the democrats no chance to win at this point.

Yeah , almost done... a crushing loss for Democrats if it holds, especially as Handel seems to be doing better than Trump did.
So much for that popularity collapse. Nothing the left wing has thrown at Trump has dented his core base.

Decision Desk has called it for Handel.

Concerned for democrats - how much losing can they handle...

I get so tired of that.

I know when I cast my vote, I have a reason in mind already. I don't need any 'experts' ('ex-spurts'?) telling me why I voted like I voted. I've heard it every single election since I was old enough to vote, and dammit if the 'experts' don't have a perfect track record of getting it wrong!

Ossoff lost because
  • he didn't live in the district, so he had no reason to properly represent the district.
  • people are sick and tired of Democrats lying.
  • people want the country to work... and the Democrats don't.
  • it is common knowledge that the DNC despises the South and everything in it.
  • people don't like it when someone tries to buy them.

That's what the Republicans used to do. They wised up and we turned from solid blue to solid red. The way the Democrats are going, we'll be solid maroon before all is said and done.

Its funny. Oh it was also raining and Democrats usually hate to show up when its raining. This is 3 seats kept republican. 5 more to go right?

CNN just called the election for Republican Karen Handel.

Jake Tapper

@jaketapper

CNN projects Republican Karen Handel wins the special Congressional election in the Georgia 6th, beating Democrat Jon Ossoff.
9:01 PM - 20 Jun 2017

The only thing that would have made the win better is if Ossoff lost by 1 vote since he couldnt vote in this special election.
