So... there we go, everyone happy ?
The USA has a new president.

Where are you seeing that?

The fact texas will vote trump by state law.

Which will give Trump 306 and no faithless electors - if you are right about Texas not allowing faithless electors.

They replaced 4 electors before this started.

Its going trump by 38.

My quote function is all messed up. Let me try again. A majority is 270. Correct? A plurality would be having the most votes but not reaching 270. Am I stating that correctly?

That is correct.

The 270 number could have changed if during the recount they nullified those state's electors.

I know, but I'm still seeing 268

She lost four electors in Washington, even if she gained all of Texas she would still have 266 and it would go to the Congress where she would lose.

Yes, I know, I understand. I saw a poster a few pages back say "That's it, Trump is now your USA president." I thought he'd seen something I hadn't.

Just that Clinton had no mathematical path to victory.

No worries, it is a straightforward but still pretty fascinating process.

In America for over two centuries the EC decided our elections.

No matter the way it's called.

Both sides abided by it until now.

Which brings me to this.

Anyone that has a problem with the November election should be BANNED from ever voting again.

Since they have been proven they can't play the game like everyone that came before them.

Uhm no - under US Federal law / US Constitution the needed votes from the electoral college is 270. Anything less than that the House of Reps vote for President and the Senate votes for V. President.

Yes.

If some of the votes aren't available because of recounts, then 270 is no longer half of all the available votes because there are less votes available than 538 in that case. It's 538 - whatever votes are no longer available because of recount. In this case, Trump does need 270 because the recount bid failed.

Yeah they are.

That' must be why they're choosing different electors. The website I'm streaming for TX says they aren't bound to vote for the party's choice.
