Allow me to offer the perspective of someone who lived through those times.

They would not have "tarred and feathered" Bernie. In fact, they didn't when he spoke up.

Moms stayed home and were home makers.

Let's be honest, here -- moms had to stay home and be homemakers. You could be a teacher or a nurse, but you had to fight to become a doctor. Many of us saw jobs that we were qualified for (college degrees) handed over to men with only high school degrees.

Alcoholism and drug abuse were not uncommon in the lives of women. Seriously, now, how would YOU feel if you were told that you couldn't hold down a job but you were expected to be a house-servant (unpaid) and have dinner ready for the whole family and so forth. Some women love this kind of life (so do some men) - but it's horrible if you ever had dreams of a career.

Rape? That was the woman's fault. And a married woman couldn't be raped (because she was married and therefore rape didn't exist. In the words of one of our Texas politicians, she should just "lie back and enjoy it.")

Blacks, Hispanics, Filipinos, Native Americans etc couldn't eat in the same place that Whites could. None of them were ever made supervisors over White men. At one place where I was a programmer, several men threatened to quit when the boss wanted to promote a woman to a supervisor position. He gave her a title and an office... but never allowed her to supervise anyone and the programmers stayed.

The husbands salary was enough.

Ha. I picked up and sold aluminum cans and bottles so we could have meat each week. My husband was a teacher, earning less than $600/month. There were no food stamps in those days.

Less violence, less murder, more trust of government.

No, there was actually more violence. Minorities and women felt it -- a friend's brother was exonerated with "justifiable homicide" when he caught his wife with another man and shot and killed them both. And then there were the lynchings.

Women and minorities (and people of non-Christian religions) had it rough -- when I got a divorce, the banks wouldn't let me have a credit card and at several dealerships I was told that I couldn't buy a car unless my husband, brother, or father was there with me and cosigned.

America has changed.

Thankfully.

By crime stats violent crime is down significantly from back then. The perception is different though because news stayed local. Now if someone gets shot anywhere in the country, you hear about it. It makes it sound like we're very violent, when the reality is that violence has been on a steep decline.

Yes, Bernie Sanders wants to destroy the middle class, which is exactly why a massive part of his platform is that the middle class is declining due to political corruption by the exorbitantly wealthy... Oh, wait, that would be stupid. Just like saying that he's a secret establishment pawn is stupid.

I trust The Devil more than God.

Lovely sentiment, Terry .. .thanks and reciprocated... and just fyi, when I rarely wade into the political morass, getting few to no stars tells me I'm on the correct track.

Contrary opinion is sometimes crackpot, but in modern political "discourse" the excluded middle (and 7 degrees to the left and forward) is where all the cool kids are.

The Bernie campaign was amazing. They did such a good job suckering in all of the college kids. He said all of the right things, in just the right way to get everyone on board throwing donations his way. He did the same thing Obama did, but this one was more sinister. He did not try to hide his communistic ideas, he wore them proudly on his taxpayer funded jacket.

Just another establishment blood sucking politician living the good life on our stolen money.

People are so gullible.

Yep, you are right.

If Sanders gets elected the U.S. will become the new Venezuela.

He wants to take himself control of the Federal Reserve by being able to appoint who control the Fed...
He wants to ban all weapons, and supposedly claims will allow only hunting rifles...
He wants more regulations on businesses which includes small businesses...
There are different laws that the U.S. Constitution allows each state to have control of, but it seems Bernie wants to get rid of that too.

But Hillary is not too far behind Sanders.

Whooh! Calm down there... No need to get your 0101010's in a bunch.
There was no invoking the devil in the OP.
OP went as far to make sure the reader didn't make that connection.

Sanders is not the devil however he is part of a bigger movement

Think of Bernie as the pinkey(pinko?) finger of the devil. Not the devil itself. But he is part of a globalist agenda that doesn't have humanities best interests in mind. To me that could be considered the devil, though I'm not a religious person.

Just so you know your subconscious is trying to tell you something... 0101010 as a decimal= 42 and as we all know from the hitchikers guide to the galaxy is the answer. Qhat question? The question you never asked but simply stated as an opinion,,, which is why the abitrary 42 surfaced.

Knoeck knock...
whos there?
The universe.
Go away I'm a nationalist!
Ok well, enjoy your life without pourpose.

I personally think Bernie was originally inserted into the race for two reasons. (and I say inserted, because it isn't like a do-nothing Congressman just decided to run for President one day, and gets into the race. He was put there, just like Obama was, when they wanted to test the waters with a black candidate).

1) They needed some foil for Hillary until the GOP field was whittled down.
2) They wanted to do a litmus test for the acceptance of socialism in America.

The first point backfired tremendously, so they had to ensure Hillary was still the choice. Surprised by Sanders' surge, they then used blatant cheating (even caught on video), sudden rules changes (again, caught on video), and even rigged votes (cue the programmers' testimony and the "glitches" in some primaries), to do so.

On the second point, they succeeded beyond their wildest dream. An entire demographic group, blind to the failures of socialism through history, not only accepted the ideas, but embraced them.

The other parts are impossible to argue against due to lack of evidence, but I'm going to have to disagree with this. I'm an avid Sanders supporter, and I am very much aware of the failures of Socialism throughout history. However, I also recognize the failures of Capitalism, which many people seem very loathe to address or accept the existence of. Many of Sander's "evil Socialist" policies are already done in other countries to the great benefit of their people, or have already been done in the US before. (For instance, his desire to reinstate Glass-Steagal.) He only appears as a far-left extremist because America is, as a nation, far-right.

"They globalist want to destroy nationalism, a strong middle class and rugged individualism to create physically and mentally weak slave class."

No. This is stupid.

"Jesus told him, "If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
"Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven."
"But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just."
"“Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”"

Tell me.. where does jesus say you must work hard for the government to buy a home, to accumulate wealth? Quite the contrary, my conservative friend... to be 100% honest, communism is perhaps the best system but humans are too greedy for such a utopia.

The people are they system. They are one in the same.

The problem, is that people act contradictory to their desires, and ask for things without knowing what they truly want.

Government filters language, I don't think it's wrong to ask/demand something of the government, but it's always going to be a monkeys paw situation. If you ask for health insurance for all, when you really mean health coverage for all. Then all will be forced to buy insurance. The government acts slow, but it does react to popular opinion.

Then you have the people who desire a result but have no vision or ability to see how to get from where we are now, to where they would like to be, and appoint someone in charge to do it for them (this one applies to most aspects of life actually).

The blind lead the blind.
