www.popularmechanics.com... Very interesting a long range fighter like the P-51D escort of WW2 BOMBER

Cough F35 cough?

My guess is it would larger and more sophisticated than the F-35. More of an F-22 replacement.

I'd guess it's more like an F-22 SUPPLEMENT, rather than an outright replacement.

If the F-22 is the F-15, than this new aircraft would likely end up more along the lines of the F-15. Less of a dogfighter, but with longer legs and sharper teeth.

I'd really love to see the FB-23 or a version of, roll out of a hanger somewhere.

That's two of us. That F/B-23 is one sexy mama-jama.

The B-21 has passed two Preliminary Design Review studies. They're preparing to move to the Critical Design Review.

Well that was fast.

It really was. The second only took three days. Almost like they've been flying the design around testing some stuff out or something.

So it appears they've been solving some of their issues?

GEP for the win.

They've solved some and found others.

I haven't followed this too closely so is there an idea of when to expect the roll-out to the public?

The don't have a schedule yet. It'll probably be after CDR is complete.

How patient are you?

It took what, 30 years to see Lockheed's ATB entrant?

Man, that final Northrop planform before the actual B-2 looks pretty familiar....

Lockheed should roll their bird out today and show it off to Trump. Does anyone actually believe LM would be punished in any way for doing it?

Doubtful

Roll it out, full speed flyover

You mean at the high subsonic speed it was designed for?

Kudos to 21st-century CFD for finally making those edge-aligned inlets from their earlier concepts work. That one that's 4th over from the left also looks MIGHTY familiar...

Leave it to Lockheed to make something that performs like a Convair 990 seem sexy and new.

Now I'm all sad because Convair went bye-bye.

Sometimes, I like to imagine that there's an alternate universe where someone at Convair decided to stick the YB-60's wings/engines onto the XC-99 and Pan-Am ended up entering a non-Boeing jumbo jet into service in 1955, and today, Lockheed is a General Dynamics division and not the other way around.

There's a Convair 580 that flies out of Phoenix running cargo. I see it parked there all the time. They did make nice aircraft.
