Too bad Northrop Grumman don't have any WWII bomber designs in their collectively-owned heritage. "Superfortress/Stratofortress/Liberator II" would
have been nice to see.
I agree - Raider doesn't make me think of stealth, long range, or nuclear capability. It makes me think of MARSOC operators with K-Bars in their
teeth as they sneak behind North Korean lines and sabotage strategic strong points...
Something like Wraith, Phantom, Black Widow, etc. would have been a lot cooler in my own humble opinion...
Not immediately, but maybe by the end of the year, or spring of next year. That would be close to long enough for them to have built a prototype after
the protest without admitting they've been flying the demonstrators around for a couple years.
Gotcha... This relative is visiting me this upcoming weekend for my birthday, so I was hoping to get a scotch induced grin out of them when asking if
they'd seen the new bird.
I just hope the real deal looks at least somewhat less "B-2 but kind of smooth and a little different" than the artist rendering is...
Well this will be the first time they meet their first grand-daughter so they're bringing something special down (so technically it wouldn't be my
scotch anyways, lol)...
Interesting. I'll have some questions from some of the more recent threads here to ask them (not sure how much a nuclear physicist would know about
some of the tech) but I'm sure the theory and science would lead to interesting conversations regardless.
Even though it looks like B-2 2.0 there are some subtle shaping differences. Among other things it works well against UHF/VHF radars, and even some
older long wave radars.
