My take on Trump is basically his wealth is dependent on a strong middle class. His businesses are service and entertainment based. If. The economy is doing well for poor and middle class, his businesses stand to gain. So the non 1%ers should benefit from his economic policies as his companies will gain from their betterment.

Took the words right out of my mouth, made them sound better, then posted them.

I don't know how many people support Trump on ATS, but I definitely see a lot of the mods pandering to Sanders. Just my observation over the last few months.

Because this is a left leaning site in many ways.

The reason people would vote for Donald Trump is that in the US we have a choice. A choice that you do not have to make until you give them your ID and vote. It is your right. Certainly, even if you do not like one candidate you must sometimes choose the lesser of what most would consider two evils.

I keep an open mind until I am ready to vote. I am conservative in some views, liberal in others and state no side in some arguments like abortion, gay marriage or gun rights. These have NOTHING to do with who a candidate is or how I will be affected during an election but they are usually huge talking points. This year however real issues are being brought to the table.

Most debates talk about balanced budgets, pro-life and job creation. This year was different. You have what could be the MOST transparent person on the planet. He says what the real issues in the country are. There is nothing that he hides and you can find out a lot, whether it is good or bad with a google search. The populace elected someone twice who we did not even know. Whose records are sealed and there is little to no history on this person.

Debating politics on ATSNN is like wandering into the 9/11 forum. It is the SAME talking points that have been debunked rehashed over and over and over.

Going into this election I read two books. Crippled America by Donald Trump and Outsider in the White House by Sanders. I suggest all of you read them also. They were very different. In one I found someone who feels he owes it to the country to run and one who wants to win on the back of higher taxes. Can you figure out who is who?

If you did read his book, you will see how Donald Trump talks about how immigration made and runs this country today. He embraces it and does not want them to not be here but control immigration and make it legal. We spend billions on illegfal immigration yet millions of our retired elderly, service veterans and children are homeless and hungry. You would read about how he wants to re-vitalize the economy with a tax plan that is fair and not just 'sticking it to the man' like I read in Sanders book.

This is why I am not even looking at a candidate from the DNC this year. It is the same tired rhetoric. The worst thing that you can do though is not vote. Although we like to simply say it does not count it does.

Because he is not a career politician spewing the same drivel that is put in front of the US election cycle after election cycle. We are stuck with the lesser of the two evils regardless so lets get one that might actually do something interesting for a change. It can't get much worse than what hope and change has already done, so lets do this thing already!

Yes he is a career politician. lets look at the word politician and see it's meaning.
politician:
Also found in: Thesaurus, Medical, Legal, Encyclopedia, Wikipedia.
2. One who deceives or outmaneuvers others for personal gain: distrusted him as the office politician.
3. politician - a schemer who tries to gain advantage in an organization in sly or underhanded ways
plotter, schemer - a planner who draws up a personal scheme of action.
www.thefreedictionary.com...
So as we can see the word politician means more than what we think.
Trump has been involved in politics all of his life, he used political connections when he took over the family business to get his foothold in manhatten and was and has been groomed by the best, at this point the American population is being groomed yet again, being told what it wants to hear and how it wants to hear it. doesnt it all sound just a little to good to be true.

In November 1964, a crowd of 5,000 attended the opening of the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, then the longest suspension bridge in the world. Presiding were New York Mayor Robert Wagner, Gov. Nelson Rockefeller and transportation and parks czar Robert Moses. Also in the crowd was a teenager named Donald Trump.

Trump’s entire life has been marinated in politics. His father, Fred Trump, made millions building apartments in Brooklyn and Queens. It didn’t hurt, when it came to land assembly and public subsidies, that he was a key supporter of Brooklyn machine Democrats and a close friend and ally of Abraham Beame, city comptroller in 1964 and later mayor.

in 1973 and that Hugh Carey, for whom the Trump family provided major financial backing when he was an underdog in the primary, was elected governor in 1974.

nypost.com...

Although Trump may not thus far have been a political figure head he has been a major player behind the scenes, he comes from an elitist family that used its money to force decisions through its political influence.
and yes all of them are "one of them" if they are sponsored then they are owned.
look at the banking collapse, 3 trillion dollars the goverment bailed out the banks, why , because they were in on it thats why, no one went to jail. look at madoff 65 billion dollars, do you Americans even care anymore?

As of today I have decided I will vote for Trump. I don't like him as a person.

But Liberalism has become so far gone that I won't do another 8 years if my vote can help it. I also would love to stick the proverbial finger to the GOP Elites who are subverting him along with the Dems in the Washington Cartel.

Especially after today when Nikki Haley took time to bash TRUMP instead of OBAMA...when she had the floor and the spotlight and could have used that to attack DEM policies....but instead swipes at her own Party's front-runner.

So Trump it is....that's how they wanna play...that's how it's gonna be

Didn't that just piss you off? I know it did me; this is a huge sign on how far from the people the republican party has gone though. Trump at least addresses the issues and isn't simply socialist light, like the republican party is these days.

There was a time when ATS felt more bi-partisan, especially during the 12' elections.

Agreed. After years of Boehner, McConnell and crew, giving Obama almost everything he wanted, in record numbers....now the GOP wants to play "Social Justice Warriors" and outdo the Dems at the PC GAME...too.

While TWO members of CAIR were invited to the speech. And the Repubs dare NOT mention that a known terrorist connected and FUNDED group had been INVITED to a Presidential speech...

But Trump is the target.

The GOP is failure. Other than a handful of good people, they are sick and twisted and outdoing rivaling the Democrats in nefarious behavior

Hmm...you should be asking yourself why do you have to pick between Hillary and Trump? "Democracy" showing its true colors.

It's slightly humorous and yet sad to see that the extreme Right has begun turning against their own simply because they view them as not being extreme enough.

Posts like your's are becoming more and more common. The GOP and the Right are eating themselves from the inside out.

Simple...

Trump is the only one that speaks like a human being, not a politically bred robot.

Sure, he may not always say the 'right' things... but he says it the 'right' way, and as we all know in today's world, its not what you say, but how you say it!

Unfortunately, thats as deep as it goes!

Why would anyone on ATS support trump?

The bigger, much more important question is: why would anyone on ATS support any elected politician?

It's impossible to rise to any level of contemporary political prominence in the US without beholden to someone or some corporate entity.

It's impossible to rise to any level of contemporary prominence within any political party, even third parties, without allegiance to a specific platform agenda that runs contrary to the populace as a whole.

I don't see it as "who is extreme enough" I see it as who has the values this country was founded on followed through to future generations.

We didn't have welfare in this country until 1935. We didn't have all these people starving to death, people took care of their own, communities knew who was in need and helped all they could. Now, we must have the government overseeing it. Now everyone looks to the government for help instead of each other.

One law after the other is passed so many that everyone breaks some law at some time. The government is responsible for us, instead of learning common sense as children, and yes, it can be learned and is by most people, when adequately taught.

Now, equality is taught rather than equal opportunity. Another socialist and communist policy, "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" Fact is, we are not equal, and the sense of family is gone being replaced by government. People die, some people are poor, some people make it, but all have the same opportunities - that is what America was founded on. Not this total equality of various schools of socialist and communist thought.

Communism and socialism fails the people, ends in totalitarianism and government overreach and is almost impossible after a complete takeover to get rid of short of bloodshed.

Both parties have been taken over by a thought process not our own. It's is not being extreme to choose to be true to the values of freedom - real freedom, not just whatever freedom government allows you to have.

I will stand, and I will fight upon the values of our forefathers and not any other.

And there's the answer.

Trump is uncontrolled and uncontrollable. He's the proverbial loose cannon on the deck.

The next year is going to be very interesting.

Simple alright. Donald Trump talks to voters at a fourth-grade level.

His "straight talk" is a finely tuned gimmick to garner the attention he's getting.

If there's anything Trump's an expert in, it's self-promotion. Which is basically the biggest factor in winning elections.

I can't believe how the average American can remotely think this guy can relate to the daily struggles of hard working citizens. His egotistical and brash way of speaking clearly shows he thinks he's better than everyone else. It's ridiculous to think he's going to make sure he or his corporate buddies are going to pay their fair share in taxes is a joke. He's going to have to remove all those loopholes in the tax system too, not just raise taxes on the rich.

This was the exact same nonsense people said about Obama. Maybe they were right -shrug- but if people say this about Obama and continue to think that Trump is a middle class fan of the people who can relate...I just have nothing to say. It's ridiculous to think that a guy who has lied before, talked about footing his own bill and is now accepting donation, and is a massive billionaire who has bankrupted 4 times, yet still has boat loads of cash, is going to represent Joe on the corner of Main and 1st who brings in 32k a year.
