And to bring the thread back to boxing for a second, I'm a little irritated that mayweather has another big fight coming up. My step-brother bought mayweather vs pacquiao, and I felt bad for him and his $100. I found it atrocious. Obviously it takes a great deal of talent to not get beat up by manny pacquiao the way he did, but why so much money? It'd be cooler to give back rather than flaunt the wealth.

Have you heard about the weird inconsistencies with Mayweather's drug testing for the Pacman fight? Mayweather used an IV without a TUE, and only applied for one after a random inspection found he had used one. IV rehydration is prohibited because of it's ability to mask PED use. Mayweather filed for a TUE like 14 days after the fight.

Technically the way USADA does testing, no rules were broken, but it's highly suspicious.

The mixes themselves are not prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), which sets the standards that USADA purports to follow. However, their intravenous administration is prohibited by WADA.

More specifically, the 2015 WADA “Prohibited Substances and Methods List” states, “Intravenous infusions and/or injections of more than 50 ml per 6 hour period are prohibited except for those legitimately received in the course of hospital admissions, surgical procedures, or clinical investigations.”

This prohibition is in effect at all times that the athlete is subject to testing. It exists because, in addition to being administered for the purpose of adding specific substances to a person’s body, an IV infusion can dilute or mask the presence of another substance that is already in the recipient’s system or might be added to it in the near future.

Guess what Occam, Kandinsky, other friends!?

I just returned home from my first training session at my new home mma gym. They have four coaches, the two I have met see the fire I possess and basically welcomed me to the family.

One of my coaches knows well and has trained striking by Duane Ludwig! Now this man will be taking me under his wing and teaching me what Duane bang taught him.

The other coach I met is an incredibly strong grappler. He fought in the AFC for at least six years, and was the middleweight champ most of that time. This man will be teaching me grappling, wrestling and basic practical jui jitsu.

There are two others I've yet to meet.

I'm overwhelmed with joy, this is dream come true material here. After knowing these guys for an hour I was already told that if I'm fully committed I'll eventually be part of the staff and fully involved in the growth of the gym.

I'm broke and they arent even overly concerned with my dues. Just displaying genuine commitment will pay my dues until I can afford. I'm going to pay ASAP of respect for my coaches and to support the gym which I've already fallen in love with.

I'm finally where I'm supposed to be
life's getting fun.

I was going to fight Oct 9th, but now that I have seasoned coaches who care about the fighters they choose to develop, they would prefer to train me properly and send me into the best fight possible. At a later date. Not a can for me to crush, and not a steamroller to flatten me. Somewhere in between, which is most valuable.

That's a win win for me because yesterday I told them I'd be willing to rematch offeild just for the xp, which is apparently Either ballsy or dumb. Regardless it earned me respect. I'll fight him again eventually, but it will be down the road.

Just the sparring and all the learning will be fulfilling, I'm in it to compete in shows for sure, but can patiently enjoy and embrace every moment of training in this Little slice of brutal heaven God led me to

These guys are the real deal and have already taken me under their wing. If I wasn't committed before, holy freaking cow am I committed now.

This gym will be my second home, the coaches and fighters, my family. I feel absolutely blessed. This is my life now. Mixed martial artist. To stoked to properly contain or adequately decide the sheer factor of this stoke.....lol

Sounds awesome and like life is on the rise for you. I'm glad that fight is off...seemed too soon. This way gets you the time to train without rushing.

Yes! Me too, I was willing because I have something new awake in my soul, but it would have been I'll advised, and unprofessional.

These guys are no BS, and I feel so blessed and honored that they believe in me. I'm going to respect my coaches and gym, I'm going to become their project and when they see fit, I'm back in that beautiful octagon.

I've wanted this for so long, too long, wasn't sure if I even had it in me or if I would ever step up and try. I'm so glad I did, it's still very surreal to me my dream is unfolding before my eyes.

On top of this, as soon as all the mj is outta my system I'm going to persistently work every day to become an Alaska State Trooper. My uncle is the captain, he told me to stay in touch.

I'm not sure if that family connection will help me or not, and frankly I'm not into handouts, or accomplishments earned through entitlement, but hey, I will seize any advantages that may present themselves just because this is extremely important for my families livelihood.

Or I may go for fire fighter......I think I'm going to commit to trooper and if that doesn't pan out go for firefighter, if that doesn't pan out, CO........if that doesn't pan out, UFC lightweight champ
joking, but that is a possibilty for my boy!

I've set a goal for myself to compete in MMA until age forty, or when my body says to my brain "no mas"! Whichever comes first. By this time ill be in the midst of a career, a coach at my new gym (they're still growing and tonight my coach who has trained with team alpha male literelly told me if I love it and remain truly committed I could be involved in the growth of the gym and a legitimate team mate, coach, and eventually business partner.

This all sounds to good to be true but it's freaking real! They're knowledge in various techniques alone proves this.

KPMMA soldotna Alaska, it's a privileged place to call home, and I'm going to seize this opportunity faster than I would a million bucks.

Thanks for letting me brag and rant, I am just majorly excited, it still feels surreal.

Seriously though when I'm not being an idiot, which I believe I finally got all of my idiocy outta the way. I'm excelling in something. I worked hard to make this dream a reality and now I find myself In Rob Coutours gym, training grappling and striking with his buddy, a once reigning middle weight Champ of the AFC, and learning bang muay Thai and kickboxing from someone who has been trained by members of team Alpha Male.

The place is cool too, it's very low key, kind of hard to find, kind of humbly small, and it all lies behind a mostly pure white door with the simple description KPMMA kenai peninsula mixed martial arts. So even though the best trainers are their, they don't do it for money, it's obvious and the bang muay Thai coach even claimed so. The place is kind of a secret! And a somewhat privileged place to be welcomed to. I think I earned my way in by just stepping into a random fight, and then being Persistant about asking to fight the ninth, I was willing to take this risky strategy becuase I didn't want to let the opportunity slip away.

Now the way things are working out, what I'm going to be able to expose myself too. I recognize how lucky I am. I must work very hard to make myself, the people supporting me, and most especially the fighters willing to teach me, proud.

I've figured the world is so messed up so many horrors, a cage fight is minor. If I can't handle a cage fight how can I handle a SHTF scenario. Nope, whether it comes in handy or not I'm going to sharpen my new interests for years to come.

Thank you! This is huge for me. I come from a paycheck to paycheck lifestyle, parents divorced when I was 11, learned early on material was valueless, by default, for which I'm grateful.

Started drinking at fourteen and never stopped until about twelve weeks ago. Plenty of other nasty habits ran there course over the 14 years. I held my own and functioned, even reached advanced skateboarding, snowboarding , and just regular (advanced way to gnarly, i drown) surfing.probably most credit is due to the man upstairs.

I've finally broken those negative chains. I'm eating healthy and have a fire inside me I've never felt before. I could just be crazy, but that's fine, I'll still end up in that cage. Plus I'm only crazy for my family, making them happy and proud is my new addiction, and Im way to happy now to turn back.

I think I'm gifted with zero temptation, I'm just over it really, been there done that basically. This new style is way more fun and fulfilling..........anyway, sorry off topic, tmi, just me being me, getting carried away .....

Last night a beautiful woman was decapitated by another.......history is written.......damn Rhonda, your boxing was improving but I think you may have had a shot sticking to your bread and armbar.

Good fights you guys.

Mcgregor Aldo!! Soon, soon.

I saw a great gif today and can't find it to post here. Rousey looked wasted and flat-footed when Holm landed that left head kick. It's not often a dominant champion is beaten so cleanly. There's always a 'get-out' like never-before-mentioned ACL injury or a short camp. This time, it looks like Holm just out-performed Rowdy on the night and made her look heavy and awkward in 2nd round.

Not a peep from Rousey so far.

I've been waiting to hear what Rhonda has to say.

Anyway, this is for everybody, though I take this a huge grain of salt and it's just for fun. I get to interject some conspiracy here!

My buddy just showed me a video of rowdy on a jimmy Kimble interview, apparently there's a claim she's illuminati.....make sense considering her rise o fame and almost supernatural success.

Now who nullified her satanic gifts? "The preacher daughter" Holly Holm. Boom! Good triumphs lol!

Lets see this on a larger collective scale now

Ahhhh! The most important part. I forgot. During that interview she predicts her fate with 100% accuracy, word for word.......it's a trip. I would imbed if I wasn't on this broken screened iPhone......

If someone wants to be really cool they could imbed for me

Basically she says " she's gonna try and keep her distance and get me frustrated and get me to make a mistake so she can kick me in the head, not gonna happen".

Uhhhhhh it did.

Whites talking immediate rematch, curious who else there could be? I like the sound of a rematch. A more composed and humbled Rhonda will be more formidable. IMO

Ronda's just tweeted that she'll be back after a break. Check out these stats from the fight lol. She was thoroughly outscored and will need to have a better game plan next time round.

Lucky bastard!! I'll have to get it after the fight is over and avoid any internet at all. After Edgar slaughtered Chad, it's looking like a very lively division. Tbh, if Conor loses, Edgar should be 2nd in rank to challenge.

What's your gut telling you? Mine's all over the place. If Conor wins, I won't pass out in surprise and I want him to win in style...convincingly. The head's saying Aldo.

Ahh. Sorry brother! Not meaning to rub it in. Just overly stoked and can't help me self.

My gut is telling me Conner. No specific reasoning other than his past performances and him proving he can come back from a tough position.

I also have a hunch that maybe Aldo is so super POed that he's been draining himself mentally this whole time. It was quite the wait too!

Fortunately, as a fan I'm pretty neutral so that eliminates the chance of me being devastated, angry and heartbroken no matter who wins.

ETA "convincingly" you're right there. If this goes to a decision of any kind ill most likely not be a happy camper.

I promise not to post my take on the results for some time as a courtesy to anyone who's gonna miss it. I know the feeling of wanting to view the results for myself if I miss one .

Same here. There'll be no crying or bitching if the fight goes fair.

Aldo should win based on his record. Conor looked top level after beating Mendes and then Mendes has just lost again.

We'll see when the dust settles tomorrow

For fun. Aldo goes to sleep or Aldo wins via Split decision.

These are the outcomes I'm envisioning.

ETA: Actually it'd have to be a UD because if Aldo takes Conner five rounds he must be dominating him.

If Conner finds his range and an opening, there will not be five rounds.

Holly Holm Vs Ronda Rousey. Boxing won.

James Toney went in expecting to loose. He needed the money.

A good boxer is very hard to take down. The Clinch started in boxing.

I would bet that a true boxer could do very well moving over to mma. Rousey, as Joe Rogan clamied, Is the best at take downs men or woman period. Dana White said she could kill Mayweather ect.

Rousey was not beat but destroyed by a female pure boxer.

This doesn't answer it, i'm afraid nothing will.

Edit: never saw how old this thread was!

The real answer I keep coming up with is a true world class boxer would never leave the golden goose to fight mma. Mayweather made 300 million for a fight. Conor makes 500k. It just doesn't make sense for a guy like tyson or toney to do this unless its a quick payday when they are bankrupt. The boxer wouldn't even train, just go in, get arm-bared and make your 500k.

Dana knows this.

Thats why he says stupid # about boxing all the time. He's trying to taunt ex broke champs that will get beat to legitimize mma and proclaim it the sweet science, when the truth is the boxer has lost before he steps in because it's for a buck not a career.
