Israel has now responded to militant rocket fire, by renewing the bombardment of the Gaza strip. Hamas has denied responsibility for the rocket strikes, and has continued to pursue talks in Cairo, Egypt.

It is currently unknown if Israel will again invade Gaza.

The Israeli military has responded with air strikes across the Gaza Strip after militants launched rockets from the Palestinian enclave at the end of a 72-hour ceasefire.

‘‘The renewed rocket attacks by terrorists at Israel are unacceptable, intolerable and shortsighted. Hamas's bad decision to breach the ceasefire will be pursued by the IDF [Israel Defence Forces], we will continue to strike Hamas, its infrastructure, its operatives and restore security for the State of Israel,’’ Lieutenant-Colonel Peter Lerner, an Israeli military spokesman said.

Is there even any infrastructure left to bomb?

I know right?!?! If those Palestinian boys and girls were never alive to begin with, none of this would ever happen. I honestly don't know why they didn't tell God/Allah to # off when told they were coming here.

This has turned into a PR nightmare for israel, they could have simply sat back and let the fact that the "missiles" used against them are wholly ineffective, and the dome shooting down a fair amount of them protect them.
All the while they could have really demonized hamas and taken the moral high ground.
But some animals are bloodthirsty and I truly believe nitwityahoo has gone mad.
So...innocents die and weapons contracts get fulfilled...
The rogue state of israel could have turned this into an actual victim case for themselves all the while taking none to almost no casualties.

Once Hamas upped the ante and directed rocket fire towards Israel's nuclear reactor in Tel Aviv, a line has been crossed where Israel is left with no alternative than to finish this.

Israel's "defense shield" uses an at or near state of the art missiles system. Hugely expensive when compared to unguided rockets employed by Hamas. Hamas' rockets are controlled by basically pointing them and range, perhaps, by how much fuel is in each rocket.

One Hamas rocket intercepted by an Israeli missile is a financial victory for Hamas.

One hit on Israel's nuclear plant, potentially, creates another Chernobyl...read that uninhabitable...for Israeli's AND Palestinians.

Two rockets were successfully intercepted heading to that reactor. The defensive shield is 90% effective, apparently.

What would happen if Hamas used T.O.T. technology? What if Hamas fires 20, or even 30 rockets all timed to arrive on target-the nuclear plant-at or near the same time?

The defensive system is overwhelmed and a hit in now probable.

An uninhabitable region, which probably includes Gaza, is just further proof that Hamas has zero interest in the Palestinian cause. Their stated goal is the extermination of Israel...at any cost and that includes Gaza.

Bottom line is Israel has no other option except the full eradication of Hamas AND ensuring it cannot occur again some time in the future.

From the OP's source.

Looks like militants resumed a military campaign against Israel and Israel simply responded.

Ron Paul:

"Hamas was started by Israel."

"We (U.S.) indirectly and directly through Israel helped establish Hamas"

I hope that statement sheds some light. Take your conclusions.

I think the Palestinians as a imprisoned and suffocated "ethnic group/ entity",for more than 70years, had enough.
I think they have reached the breaking point: Freedom or nothing.

Please invert positions on the massacre.

note: Palestine it's not a nation because U.S and Israel toke that away and denied them that right reclaim it.

It's war. It won't be over until one side surrenders.

Sad fact, but there it is.

It (armed militant groups) will always occur in the future as long as they oppress and genocide the Palestinian people. They are killing the people out really. Either by controlling population with land and food restriction or killing off a few thousand each operation. It is genocide by definition.

There rockets aren't going to hit the reactor, nor do I think they would ever cause any kind of damage to such a structure as I don't believe their rockets actually carry explosives. I think they basically shoot blanks to draw Israeli missiles that cost money. I have seen one of their rockets hit a road and it didn't damage it, cars literally drove over the spot 20 seconds later and no damage to the road.

Come on, honestly.

Stop picking sides.

They have resumed military action against each other. Yet the title of this thread implies its just Israel.

The cease fire has ended, this is for BOTH sides.

When are you people going to stop lying to yourselves and accept there are 2 sides to this conflict. If you care about Palestinians, why are you guys not criticizing Hamas as much as you criticize Israel. They are just as responsible.

Both sides are bad. Come on guys, this conflict will never end while the international community is acting like this.

Jeeez.!!!!!!!

Hamas have stated they have new rockets and plan on attacking the airport, they are also attacking a nuclear facility, how can anyone support either side??????

Terrorists, freedom fighters, who give a sh!t?

One side is fighting another side.

Some on this site want one side to win.
Others want another side to win.

YAY.

While we're fighting a war of words and snark, people are dying. People always die in war. The sooner it ends, the sooner that people will stop dying.

You guys love that word. Hamas is committing it too. Just ask the poor palestinian human shields.

Also, stating the destruction of the Jewish people is not genocide??????????????????????

It won't be over until one side surrenders.

Well we could ask the Israelis to surrender all the land they took from the land of Palestine but that isn't going to happen is it.

Now who has to surrender more of what they have already given so much of? And how much more would satisfy the Jews? Even when not shooting at them they bulldoze houses and evict more people from their ancestral land.

The war of occupation has only one outcome. Either they drive out or murder every last Palestinian living in Israel or they themselves leave giving back all the property they stole going all the way back to the first invasion and occupation of Palestine.

If anyone thinks this "conflict" is as simple as the Palestinians should just surrender then they fail to take into account historic events from a Palestine perspective.

Conclusions:

So, in fact, there is no Terrorists.

Invasion of Gaza to eliminate the "terrorists" is BS.

In fact "concentrate and exterminate is on going, what in simple terms can be called "War crimes and Palestinian genocide

With full support of the U.S.

And you are also a supporter of this?

Or hamas could have continued on their UN recognition route where they were making real progress for the Palestinians. Yet they resorted to violence knowing what this means for the palestinians.

Again, both sides are to blame.
