Mods if this belongs in breaking alternative news, please move.

en.ria.ru...

We hold a decent amount of treasury bonds – more than $200 billion – and if the United States dares to freeze accounts of Russian businesses and citizens, we can no longer view America as a reliable partner,” he said. “We will encourage everybody to dump US Treasury bonds, get rid of dollars as an unreliable currency and leave the US market.

Regardless if you are Anti-Russia and for US government Federal Reserve, IMF, NATO etc.

OR if you are like me Pro-Russia, and Anti New NATO bases in New Ukraine etc.

You gotta realize one thing, Russian are not playing around, unlike western counterparts from whom we are so used to BS and double talk, Russians actually mean the threats they dish out.

They WOULD shut down Oil and Gas supply to Western Europe.

They WOULD dump 200 billion of US bonds in one day. Urging China to do the same or at least threaten to do the same.

Before you go and make enemies of Russian Federation, what you should ask yourself is, is dinky little Crimea worth it (there is no way in 100 years they will give up their naval base), is it worth you having your pension halved, or your social security halved, or further cuts in food stamps. Or your stock Market portfolio taking a dive.

You people gotta realize that Russia is not some defenseless Middle East or North African country which can be endlessly manipulated, killed, droned till cows come home.

Let them do it, a blow to US and Europe for sure, do you think Russia dont depend on selling that gas/oil, or that bonds dont give them stability?

I wonder who would end in a worse position by doing this. After all Russia exist because USSR lost a cold war to US, i dont see what a weaker country hopes to do against western powers, it all comes down to MAD again.

To me, yes it would be. That dinky little Crimea has PEOPLE there, with families and children that love them. It may cost me alot of money but money is not what makes me happy. I can survive if my gas price goes up or my stocks take a dive, I will just have less money. I will buy a few loaves of bread instead of going to Joes Crab Shack every week. Drop my nasty cigarette habit. No biggie. Life is more precious than my stocks any day.

It's wild that you ask if it's worth it when it WAS for dinky south Korea...it was worth it for a LOST Vietnam...it was worth it to punish millions in Cuba, it was worth overthrowing a legitimate government in Iran, it was worth it to topple Saddam, and it was worth it to continue the 40 year struggle for independence in Afghanistan, etc. Of course it is worth it to the ones in power. You have to understand how much money is going to be gained with the "rebuilding" of Ukraine, and the missile fortifications they will likely build when they split that land in two. These people making decisions don't think about risk. These people don't care about lives ruined. All that exists is money, and we're not part of the bottom line. Simple as that. It will happen whether we want it or not.

Democracy didn't work in the eastern countries.

For them, democracy equals to get rich quick,as can be seen in what the ex Ukrainian officials left behind them when they have left out of the country.

As can be seen here,

uk.news.yahoo.com...

All done without any thinking, money spent elsewhere, while the people of those countries live in poverty.

This is how democracy was understood in ex Comunist countries.

Does anyone else think the USA complaining about Russia invading another country is pretty much the pot calling the kettle black?

The Hypocrisy would be hilarious if the consequences from this didnt have the potential to really, Really, REALLY F*** the world we live in.

Ive come to the conclusion that us Westerners, Yanks, Poms, Aussies, Kiwis, Cannucks etc etc are the bad guys

Im actually on Russias side in this, maybe if they had of just sent in the drones and foreign mercenaries like the US does all of this could have been avoided, so far no civilian or military deaths yet the media condemnation is worse than all the recent wars the US has been involved in put together.

Something tells me history will not view us Westerners kindly

If people don't see the elephant in the room from this, I don't know what event will open eyes outside of the police taking "unsavory" individuals to internment camps at gunpoint. It really has gotten that bad.

Ah .... you do realize that US has debt that would in such a scenario CRUSH United States Economy.

While Russian Federation has no such debt and has large amount of Gold Bullion, just like China.

Have you seen the RT show on wealth of New Ukraine Government leaders.

All of them with Huge Villas, and properties almost equaling Yanukovich, all rich bastards.

This is why it is important to watch both Pro and Con news to see what's going on.

Gold Reserve

Use ATS search function and learn about Federal Reserve and Fort Knox.

US has no real gold, just little something for the show, but they never show the depth of wall made of gold bars.

Audits of Gold held by US has been a sideshow for 30 years. Just ask Ron Paul.

Did you know that when Germany asked for gold back from US, they were told, we can't fully ship it till 2017. LOL

I haven't physically talked to anyone from Crimea. Not one single person, especially not 60-68 percent of them. I have NO idea what is really going on there for sure because I am not actually there. Just looked at news reports and internet posts. My comment may very well be terribly wrong or uneducated at best. I have no way of knowing the absolute truth. My stocks are not more important than anyone's life though......that I can say for sure. LOL

You must be drunk because I'm stating that the USA will act whether or not anyone is in the wrong because there's too much money to be made for them to lose out on. I did forget to mention the Banana Republics and the ongoing political upheavals at the hand of the CIA, but also know at the same time that both "sides" have gotten their hands bloody at the massive cost of civilian casualties. It's all wrong in the end and until the people actually control their governments, this wrongdoing will just continue with no end.

Sorry,I watch news from time to time(not on TV),but certainly nothing good will come out from what is happening now.

At least from the economic and financial point, this crisis will go deeper and deeper.

I have a feeling that everything that it is happening now was very well known before has began.

Is like a game of chess where moves are well known in advance.

Maybe a good way to finish the current crisis.

Who knows...

So numbers are not good because its America, I wonder how good are the numbers in the 127/177 most corrupt country in the world.

Drink less of the cool aid, Russia depends of the western economy more than the west depends on Russia, if the dollar falls it would affect China too, from last year doom porn
China warns Washington to take quick action to avoid default on government debt

All is connected in this globalized world and Russia cannot take down US without completely destroy themselves, and perhaps even doing so they may not take down US, so again i wonder who would lose more if Russia stop selling gas/oil and dump the bonds.
