I know there's a similar thread, but that thread deals with Iran/Syria/Lebanon/ Egypt and Israel.

This thread is about Europe and America and Israel.

--

With America's interets in Israel, but by being part of the UN / Nato - would America effectively be forced into a choice?

What about Turkey and the EU?

If America take Israel's side, then surely the whole world would be against America? Would then America be at war with the EU?
But if they take Turkey's side, wouldn't they be ruining their relationship with Israel?

--

I do hate to talk of war, but this Israel /Turkey confrontation is heating up. We've also got an Irish aid vessel en route, and Ireland have issued a strong warning against the use of force on its citizens.

Same with Italy.

But what if any of these vessels are attacked, Israel have already spoken of using further force and Turkey are reported as saying they may provide an armed escort. Say a confrontation between any of these takes place and Israel decides to take it one step further. What happens then?

What do you guys think?

I think the U.S. and NATO will almost allways stand behind Israel and this time won't be any different.

Just remember.....Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely

If Israel again resorts to violence against unarmed relief ships, it could have very serious, world-wide consequences; both short and long-term.

However, if Israel has "learned" from the public out-cry caused by their past behaviour and takes a "gentler" less, or non-confrontational, approach, the out-cry will be no less.

Instead the world will ask "Why couldn't they have taken the "peaceful" approach the first time?"

And the question Is a valid one.

The US will definitely stand up for Israel.
No question about it. Some people say it won't happen,
but just keep watching is all I can say.

Now is not a good time to mess with Israel. Not that any time is mind you but Israel will spank. Turkey really should forget about it if they have plans. Hez knows what its in for.

How though? Turkey has the 2nd biggest army in NATO.

Turkey is vital. It seperates the middle east from Europe.

Excuse the euphemism but it isn't always the size that matters. The IDF has some of the best training and equiptment in the world. Plus Israel has the support of the NATO coalition

Its not like US expected UN's acceptance for Iraq and Afghanistan wars....
US government would stand by Israel at all costs. It will not care if 30 million Americans oppose it. Then again they will use other methods for people to accept this and brainwashing by mass media. One way or the other and no matter what US will stand by Israel. Even if it is going to use nukes. One simple excuse can be, Israel itself nuke small part of its land and nuke all of opponents. Then MSM will convince that Israel was the victim and it only used nuke after the opponents used. Anything is possible. US-Isreal against middle east muslim nations = WW3

U.S.-TURKEY RELATIONS
U.S.-Turkish friendship dates to the late 18th century and was officially sealed by a treaty in 1830. The present close relationship began with the agreement of July 12, 1947, which implemented the Truman Doctrine. As part of the cooperative effort to further Turkish economic and military self-reliance, the United States has loaned and granted Turkey more than $12.5 billion in economic aid and more than $14 billion in military assistance.

U.S.-Turkish relations focus on areas such as strategic energy cooperation, trade and investment, security ties, regional stability, counterterrorism, and human rights progress. Relations were strained when Turkey refused in March 2003 to allow U.S. troops to deploy through its territory to Iraq in Operation Iraqi Freedom, but regained momentum steadily thereafter and mutual interests remain strong across a wide spectrum of issues.

I don't think we should be forced to stand behind either country. They are both supposedly our allies, but I honestly don't see the need for us to have to have to get involved.

But Turkey Is A Member of NATO!

Israel is not.

Not to be too "Biblical" but Israel is fast working to "Turn All Nations Against Her"

Yes Turkey is in NATO, but MY opinion is that the majority of the other NATO countries would be on the side of Israel just to ensure that Israel as a country continues to exist .

once again this is only my opinion, not based on any science or math or anything else

Yeah lots. Lots and lots.

The Turkish are Siberian, Asian, eastern european , persian descent. Not just Arabs. Just look at their history!

How can you justify what you just said? I'm interested. Are you implying America is at war with Arabia maybe?

Or what?

I believe that the romans and jews crucified jesus and then took his message, modified it, added some bits, removed other bits, and created a religion to suit their own agendas.

now you may wonder why christianity is related to this.

well in the bible it tells us of this day when all nations turn against israel

i recall reading an article a few days ago where a zionist official/general in the israeli government said that the bible is their guide.

they believe in the bible but not in jesus.

whether religion is true or not, it has a lot of significance on modern day events.

the war in the middle east has always been religious.

would this be the time where all nations go against israel?

israel has been itching to use her nukes against her middle eastern neighbours.

Turkey is Not "Arab".

And any Turk will "forcefully" explain that to anyone who claims otherwise.

However, many Turks are Muslim.

But then, not All Arabs are Muslim either.

So America would allow part of the EU to be nuked?

What about Turkeys neighbours, Greece and Italy and Syria for example, would they just sit their and allow fall out to drift over?
