Alright, yea. It certainly isnt a good look no matter how you frame it.

Another part of me says, its a store, they sell stuff on shelves.

However target has the history of being woke so you cant rule out that it wasnt to get attention, even on this lil corner of the internet.

Right, and that specific area is girls athletic wear and swimsuits...😟

Maybe some ‘girls’ have to do a little manscaping too? Idk

Straight up perversion. No other way to take it.

Wake up, people.

I think someone was more likely sleeping on the job, did not think through the location, probably some jr manager trainee..but, who knows? I agree it's absolutely not the right place, for that product.

Yes I kinda use my family as a litmus test, they are really aren’t bothered by much and they both thought this was very weird.

How does a person not see the names of those products and not think…hmmm maybe this shouldn’t go in the little girls area?

It’s creepy

Also, marketing these days are coming up with inappropriate tasteless names for products I’ve noticed.

It's what a transman uses when he gets his period.

Just my speculative two cents but as a father that accompanies his daughter to the girls section when needed, I’d guess that they strategically put some mens sale items on the display for dads to mindlessly pickup and consider as an add on purchase while impatiently waiting for his kiddo. They have us dads pretty well figured out.

I had to look that up. It's some kind of hand cream for men.

Not good, someone didn’t follow the appropriate floor plan.

My initial reaction is to play devil's advocate and guess that somebody was trying their hand at product placement while anticipating a desperately aimless father waiting patiently for their wife and or daughter to finish their business. But I can only speculate.

Naw. I worked at Target at a department management level. Those products are planned to be placed where they are. You get big sheets of paper with displays on them from corporate and part of your job is to set those displays according to play. There are (or were; it's been a lot of years) only about two different overall store floorplans in the entire nation at the time I worked there, so corporate only had to release one or two plans to everyone.

i don't think it's a great or super appropriate place for it, but i'm really not getting how it's outright creepy.... like these are bright lit stores full of families, surely anyone there to be creepy is going to be creepy regardless and not... what, lured in by the shaving cream display? what are you even getting at there?

Well, it's obvious.

Target is grooming children for child porn and sex trafficking.

And at the same time, they are setting up "gawking spots" in all their stores for the millions of pedophile MEN out there who want to check out kids. That's why they are putting men's products there.

And if you check, I bet they removed all cameras from that area. And there's probably a "groomer" running the 6–12-year-old sections of all their stores. And they undoubtably have tunnels to whisk children off to Taiwan or other such foreign lands to do with what they choose.

Why is this allowed to happen?

Another possibility is that some people want to see something nefarious in every single thing ? Certainly your choice but as much as people want to think they are woke to everything could it also not be possible that people are so oversaturated with info that they now see a boogieman behind every door?

Outside of that.

A few variables go into item placement within a store. Arguably one of the most important is the overall size of the store? Is it a traditional sized store , an express store or a smaller city store? Beyond that what items are to the right of those clearance tables?

People are making all kinds of excuses for abnormal, which is abnormal.

Normally that stuff is in the area with the other hair care products. At the store I go to it's nowhere near the kids clothing section.

The store is "target marketing" to a specific Target shopping demographic.

Target’s demographic is typically younger than other stores of similar types. And quite a bit skewed towards a female demographic.

Listening to the overhead music often gives away the demographic.

In the case of this product line, I think they are counting on women tho buy this for their hubbies and boyfriends as an impulse buy (clearance!)

I’ve also seen these exact same products at home improvement stores, on their own display. Right by the checkout stands. Impulse buy.
The companies that make and sell these, often get a test opportunity to sell some product. in this case it didn’t seem to go over well.

I shop a lot at target because it is the closest store to my house. And the shopping carts just silently glide over the floors.

Been a conspiracy theorist for a long time, so far everything people said was “crazy” wasn’t…
