You can protest a political issue large scale, you are not permitted to do the same against a non-political entity without being charged with disturbing the peace and/or unlawful assembly.

What ? Did i read that correctly ?

So if a business decides to relocate overseas with a loss of lets say 5,000 jobs, those 5,000 employee's cannot hold a protest on the streets outside of their place of work to try and save their jobs ?

If that is what you are saying then that is ludicrous and wrong.

"Outside of their place of work" yes... raging from one end of the city to the other? Not so much. Obviously work related protests are a bit of an in between issue, but to conduct this type of wide spread roaming the city streets mass protests will land you in court and, if you can't call it a political protest, you'll lose in court over it unless you hold an assembly permit.

I find it hard to believe that protest marches are frowned upon in America.

Here, Trade Unions are always holding protest rallies and marches, Here is one from a few years ago, hundreds of thousands of people marching through London to demand higher wages.

Those would be political protests in the US, with people demanding Congress or their state/city government increase minimum wage laws.

That particular march i exampled was aimed at businesses not paying fair wages, and not minimum wage law.

Back on topic. When it comes to a riot no one does it like The British.

The police report, a year after the riot, estimated the crowd at 200,000.

I dont see whats incendiary about it. Its a fairly strong American tradition to defend property rights, including violence if necessary.

I seem to recall horse thieves not being treated much kinder.

This is a 2nd Amendment reminder: as we see, police cannot protect you. Arm up, be prepared.

Missing work is frowned upon too.

We have a messed up work culture in America. Its not really healthy for the worker usually, especially mentally.

Why not more stars and flags?

What has become of ATS? Guess like making America great again being balanced and denying ignorance is no longer needed?

As we cities burning all over america tonight, look back on this thread and see how some peoples big concern was not labeling these people terroists, and how we should not use the national guard.

I just want to watch on tv people who burn things and steel gets their butts kicked by riot police.

So passive today

But that will never happen. So surround the mob and no one escapes unless it's in cuffs. Keep them surrounded for days and weeks.

Starve em out then send them to prison, hard labor

People out of work, lots of time on their hands, locked up in quarantines, fed fear for weeks and months, perfect storm for any excuse to riot, just needed a spark and boom.

Careful what you wish for, lest in future, you are a "terrorist" in someones eyes.

Slippery slope indeed, I'd say to anyone wanting the military involved you should be ready to lose a whole lot of freedom, once deployed there's a chance they will stay and their power for enforcement will escalate and as you rightly point put the definition of terrorism will change as it did in newspeak, Orwell called it that's for sure.

Luckily the POTUS is really good at bringing the people together and calming them and also reassuring them everything is under control....

You seem to not understand what the Boston tea party was about. Again context is key and you just can’t see it. The tea coming from England was being heavily taxed and the Americans didn’t want to pay the tax, so they destroyed the tea instead, a very distinct and clear message to the British authority.

Burning target and stealing a tv, what’s the clear and distinct message that is being sent hear? Enlighten us...

The sad thing to me is, you seem to believe the National Guard is on your side.

I for once agree with you, trump has never had success bringing the country together. Granted he hasn’t had any help from the MSM, calling him a racist sexist thin skinned man child hundreds of times a day might you know, affect people’s perception of the man.

Perhaps they’re showing you what it feels like to be powerless to stop violence against “your people.”

That’s the easiest low-hanging fruit. When you push people, someday, they push back.

But keep believing this is just about George Floyd.

That's a tactic that by default renders everything they want and claim null & void. No legitimate issue resorts to what is effectively domestic terrorism and wanton theft to try to make a serious dent. It just does not work, it nukes credibility into oblivion.
