Anyone know how it was in the interest of the American people to move the embassy to Jerusalem?

MAGA how?

Why not?

When Israel declared Independence on 14 May 1948, the population of Tel Aviv was over 200,000. Tel Aviv was the temporary government center of the State of Israel until the government moved to Jerusalem in December 1949.

Ask the 1995 Congress and Bill Clinton

The Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995 is a public law of the United States passed by the 104th Congress on October 23, 1995.

Yeah. I guess you could ask Bush too.
The law gave the president the power to waiver.

Well since just under a half of the worlds Jewish population lives in the US I would think it was important to many American people.

Congress put it there. Can Congress be wrong about something?

No they cannot. Congress infallible. Didnt anyone tell you?

I disagree. Not when it is a primary point.

Whether or not the US accepts Jerusaelm as Israels capital was never a primary point of negotiations, especially since that decision would not rule out any potential division of Jerusalem in final status negotiations. Meanwhile in reality, the Palestinian Leadership knows perfectly well that they'll get a neighborhood of East Jerusaelm as their capital at best. You can go back 50 years and divide the city on pre 67 lines again. Development has long since moved on.

Start with, all Palistinians are not Islamic terrorists. Then go here:
en.wikipedia.org...

What are you babbling about? I never said all Palestinians are terrorists. But fun fact about Palestinian Christians: In Gaza there are barely 1000 left at this point. Guess why.

In 2012, demographers estimated the core American Jewish population (including religious and non-religious) to be 5,425,000 (or 1.73% of the US population in 2012), citing methodological failures in the previous higher estimates. Other sources say the number is around 6.5 million.
en.wikipedia.org...

I said how does it help them, not if they want it. Assuming, of course, that all Jews are in favor of moving the embassy.

Right. You said "stick it to the islamic terrorists". Right?

Screw the Palestinians who don't fit that category. Right?

let me ask a question......

In the US, if we were to build a new capital building........

And Mexicans and native Americans started throwing themselves at it, and blowing people up......would you still say " oh hey it use to be their land, they should"

Because by your logic.....my family and my heritage, have right to EVERY bit of land you own.....and to take it.....

What you are backing with Palestine is Exactly the same thing.....only worse......because there WERE no Palestinians.....

But that aside......what if my kin just started coming to your houses, blowing up your businesses and taking over your land.....

Is that ok.......you good with that? Because if youre honest and really ready to relinquish let me know

But it was still a Law that recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Trump is upholding the Laws of the US (his job), but Laws seem to be getting the same treatment as borders by do nothing politicians, just pretend they aren't there and they will go away so magical rainbows and unicorns will appear.

What if my kin started building settlements on land that, by international law, they are prohibited from doing so.

There is no place for terrorism. But Israel offers nothing to those who were displaced by an arbitrary decision.

How does moving the US embassy to Jerusalem help anyone but Israel?

But it was still a Law that recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
A law to which it was allowed for the president to issue a waiver.

How does his action help anyone but Israel?

How does it help America?

A Law is a Law, the recognition was never waivered just the physical movement of the embassy location.

How does it help?
Let's follow logic,
Israel is our ally
Recognizing our ally's Capital bolsters our relationship with our ally.

Pretty simple.

And how do 'the Palestinians' get screwed? This is a bs polticial fight based on some trumped up religious reasons. The life of the ordinary Palestinian is not affected by whoever rules Jerusalem.
Except for the Palestinians living in East Jerusaelm of course. They thrive under Israeli rule.
Of course there will always be some willing to riot and die for 'the cause!!11!!'. Morons and terrorists usually.

The act of passing the law recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Pretty simple stuff.

I don't understand your question? What other capital in the world is there that we do not recognize that is set by the host country? The weird part is we have recognized Jerusalem as the capital for a long time, just didn't act on it. Are you suggesting Israeli is not an independent nation able to select their capital city within their own borders?

Building code violations.

When did that become terrorism?
