Overinvolved? You are the one that feels they have a right as to how a tv show should be made to suit them.

And it is not your thread it is a public one so I can be here as long as I abide by the terms and conditions of ATS.

You should go and find a whiney star trek forum if you want everyone to agree with you.

People actually think that because they follow something they have a right to make decisions on how it should be.

There is a house down the road that I really like as it is pretty and in a nice spot with a lovely garden but I would not complain if the owner did something I did not like and think I was in anyway justified in my anger because I had liked it for a long time.

This is so simple that I should not need to point it out and the fact they have made something you dislike is a clear indication that your estimation of you opinions value to the creators or the general public(who outnumber you by far by the way) is misguided.

I haven't even bothered watching it. It looks like garbage, and every Trek fan I know that has tried to give it a chance hates it. Oh well, it was a good run while it lasted.

Hopefully Episode 8 can redeem Star Wars. 7 was a mess, and they pretty much gave away the entire plot for 8 in the previews and I'm not impressed, but I'll give it a shot. The preview for 7 was great and then the movie itself was a huge letdown, so maybe 8 will be the opposite of the preview and be really good. Rogue One was excellent, they should've hired the people who wrote and directed that to do 8 and 9.

How about you send them an email saying that you wont be watching anymore so they might as well just cancel it and see how they respond.

You should give it a go, whats the worst that can happen?

It lost it a bit the last couple of episodes and it does take a bit of adjusting but I found that with enterprise as well as after tng,ds9 and voyager all set in the same time frame it feels a bit odd.

I've really been enjoying it and rated it 8/10 on IMDB.

The opening credits are classy and set the tone for a good show. Sure enough, there are bits and pieces that are clichéd and it's hard to overlook the script at times. What I did was compare STD to the original ST and both of them are weak in the same areas and strong in others. Kirk's Star Trek was totally rooted in the late 60s and the STD looks to be of its time too.

The STD doesn't quite have the completeness of the ST characters in the sense you *always* know what Kirk, Spock or Bones will say or do in any situation. The STD characters are less defined, but they could get better in the future.

The bit at the end of Ep 5 with the gay relationship was a let down. It looked contrived and it's 30 years too late to have the significance of the famous interracial kiss. Sometimes writers think they're being edgy and controversial when they're only being dull and yawnsome. Meh.

I really love the credit sequence so much I'm saying it twice.
