What would those ramifications do to our solar system.

None. It's nonsense.

Please explain yourself and the fact this is nonsense.
We are ALL looking for answers and your 3 word answer just doesn't fill explanation!?!
There has been speculation ISON's composite is that of a diamond so upon perihelion
said diamond 'could' act as a radial discharge encompassing our solar system and yes, that would create dire consequences.

I respect your intelligence...but not a dancing 3 word answer.

Which is pure conjecture. In other words totally made up nonsense with absolutely no facts whatsover to back up the conjecture, save one : since nobody has sampled the comets core nobody knows and as we all know with conspiracies you MUST prove a negative to show its wrong otherwise its true.

This is why I believe in the conspiracy that Elvis is alive and well and living on the third plant around our nearest star. Since NOBODY can prove me wrong it MUST be true.

Still going with that ISON is a spaceship garbage?
Why is every comet we discover a spaceship to some of you?
Even when you're proven wrong I doubt you'll admit it. We'll just hear more excuses of why the ET's didn't save us.
Totally delusional

The evidence that shows ISON to be much more than what our "scientists" are telling us is mountainous.

Please show us this "mountainous" amount of evidence (and please try to show us something other than YouTube videos, etc.

The data is coming in so fast, most skywatchers can't keep up with it.

What data is that exactly? Again, please post what you are talking about.

Not only is NASA lying to us, so is the Minor Planet Center and all other govt agencies, including the military.

Please show where they have been lying about C/2012 S1. Again, no YouTube videos, but actual cold, hard evidence.

ISON is a space ship with a rock in tow behind it. The beings in this biosphere are here to help us enter a new age.

Please show us your evidence for this. Again, no YouTube videos, but actual photographic or radar data that shows this.

Now, it doesn't matter a damn bit if any of you doubt me or think I'm full of crap. Not at all. And the reason is because each of you is about to find out for yourselves.

When ISON emerges from the back side of the sun, watch what happens. Hope you have some food and water stored away and your automobiles are topped off with gas.

And when it is done going around the sun, and continues on it's merry way (either whole or in pieces), and nothing else happens........will you come back here and admit you were wrong? That C/2012 S1 was just nothing more than a comet?

No, of course you won't. Won't hold my breath on that. You'll find a new comet / asteroid / god knows what to claim is something other than it is.

When this is over, daryllyn, I'll find you and we'll talk. Oh, yes, I'll find you. We Pleiadians have special skills. Maybe you know that already.

Please show proof that you are from the Pleiades, a group of stars consisting of up to 1,000 members, 16 of which can be seen by the naked eye, that are less than 100 million years old, 9 of which are spectral class "B".

So was ISON

September 21, 2012
C/2012 S1, Discovered

and you trust their math over a year's period? the data of this object is not fully accurate and the time period of the comet has been updated to a difference of hundreds of thousands of years just the last few days, now tell me how much you can really believe about the object if it was not even discovered by NASA if it is to put on this show like we have never witnessed on earth, really there is nothing else to compare.

Orbit Determination Parameters
# obs. used (total) 6505
data-arc span 784 days (2.15 yr)

Source

Their math is based off of 6,505 separate observations over the course of 784 days. What's not to trust?

Thank you for your article! It is very well done!

Since my focus of education leaves me clueless as to who is telling the truth, finding and assessing credibility becomes a hazardous and confusing conundrum. Firstly, do YOU subscribe to NASA's "dirty snowball" theory OR McCanney's electromagnetic model? It would seem that you and McCanney are in agreement in that he seems to indicate ISON is not a threat to Earth, right? (or WRONG?) Lastly, regardless of the answers to the first TWO questions, it still DOES seem that those supposed experts who dismiss ISON as a threat, still DO believe there is some other(s) significant space related hazard likely in the future (whether that be sun related, Planet X, comets, or whatever)?

I doubt that anyone starts out wanting to be deceived, but there IS more than enough material "out there" to send almost anyone spinning into fantasy-land (at least for awhile). IS there a realistic space based hazard in the next year or not? What about 2 and 5 years? Thanks!

Have you seen what ISON apparently did upon its passing of Mars.
(I did say.. .apparently..)

And what did it do, exactly?

If you mean the supposed 'tail' it grew when ISON passed... let's see a non youtube source for it.

I seriously think this post is funny, it is like you are trying to convince yourselves that everything is normal because you can prove that this comet will not hit Earth.

I seriously doubt it will hit earth.

However, I think Earth and its inhabitants could do with a good shake up, and i think this is probably it.

From user "hadituptohere"... I found this tidbit quoted, but couldn't find the post it came from.

I'm sorry.. that is just creepy.

"Oh yes, I'll find you" ... wow.

You, along with the rest of the doomers, will see that ISON will pass without incident, just like Elenin did.

PS... Please don't find me.

The ISON debris field is the issue, the path that earth passes through after ISON's slingshot exit from the sun, no one can even predict, even NASA

The path that noone can predict???

By your other postings, you seem coincerned that the orbit of comet ISON isnt known well enough:

phinubian
The size and period of this comet are in question and are being constantly updated

The actual size and period of the comet have been constantly updated and put into question

phinubian
Our math is not as good as you may think... NASA has been changing within the last 3 days the actual period or time of the orbit

Well, doom boy, the problem you have here is that for the matter of the doomsday debris cloud you're scared of, the comet has already passed that point on November 2nd.
No predictions are needed. No estimates are needed. No theoretical orbit calculations are needed.
It has already happened.
The comet has already gone through that point in space.
We saw it happen, we observed it, photographed it, recorded its position.
We saw how much debris it was leaving.
No predictions are needed.

Edit - when I say "we" observed it, of course I mean amateur and professional astronomers actually outside using telescopes.
People sitting at home watching doomsday youtube videos on their computer didnt do a gogdam thing.

How long would you say we have been tracking comets, alfa1? Just for credibility sake for those that think the math isn't trustworthy.

And, thank you for the clarification on the debris field factor.

I am not trying to convince myself of anything. The point was, to help others that have been sucked into the various youtube ISON doom videos out there, that there is nothing to fear. If I can help any of them realize this, maybe it will help quell the spread of the fear mongering that's been going around.

I seriously doubt it will hit earth.

What would make you think that this 'is probably it'? Its not coming anywhere near us and poses no danger.

Depends what you mean by "tracking".
Halley worked out enough of the basics in 1705 to calculate the orbit of the comet that bears his name, and link it back to observations made hundreds of years earlier.
In more modern times, that same comet has been linked back to observations going back even further, to the year 240 BCE. So it could be said that, even if they didnt know it at the time, "astronomers" were tracking Halleys comet for the last 2253 years.

And because orbital calculations are so well tested, nobody has to take anybody's word for it. It is possible for any amateur astronomer to do their own observations with their own telescope and their own eyes, and calculate the orbit for themselves.

Its one of those things that ATS users often shout "we cant trust NASA"... but nobody has to do that. At all.

Actually I'm surprised at the amount of data that is availible. I have been tracking this thing all day on the SOHO satelite and for anyone interested the SDO (Solar Dynamics Observatory) spacecraft will be poiting especially off-center from the sun so we can watch ISON in almost real time pass the sun...

Peace

Oh and about it's predicted trajectory...

It's dead-on.

I applaud your effort, but bringing sane logical thought to the latest Doom will hardly dissuade the die-hards.
2012 wasn't enough to stop it - nothing will. It's simply easier to believe it's all going to end soon than to believe what you have got right now (in your life) is all that you have. The need to believe in "secret knowledge", to put faith in it, is easier than to believe this life we have is all there is - especially if your not doing well compared to your peers. It's an easy out for those that are failing at this life thing. Reality is a real biatch, why not pretend...

Maybe you are right about the die-hard doom porn lovers. I had to step away from ATS for a while because of all the 2012 threads. It was ridiculous.

I just wish that people would stop taking the word of these Youtubers as gospel, and start thinking for themselves, finding information themselves, and verifying information that they are given. Not doing so, is willful ignorance.

One should consider many sources, many angles and all available information before deciding what to believe.

Would there be enough matter in ISON to change the dynamic of the sun if it was to hit. And if it did would the change in fuel being burnt change the suns colour, and how much effect would that have on earth..?

No chance
it would be like an ice-cube being thrown into a big bonfire....
Or similar to that effect

Yes, very interesting observation (ditto by the way) that as soon as someone posts a youtube video it must be "believed". Even better if it is copied and re-linked several times than its MUST be the truth........oh dear, how sad.

I'm going to start making video responses to some of these youtube doomers.

Maybe I can be credible, too, then... since youtube is apparently what it takes for so many these days
