Suppose for the sake of argument, ISON is a chunk of coal with a DIAMOND at it's center, at perihelion when the coal breaks away and the center diamond is revealed - what would be the expected outcome if ol' Sol tossed a X class CME at the hypothetical diamond and it's optical interference with the diamond..? (pure speculation on my part)
There is no such thing as an X class CME but what "optical interference" are you talking about?

I've been keeping up with these ISON doom porn threads for a while now and, at times, I've wanted to hurl my iPad into a wall out of sheer frustration. The ignorance and blind conviction of some people on here is staggering.
Why bother clicking the doom porn threads if it bothers you that much?
Based on constraints from observations of ISON and other comets, scientists say ISON should be dense enough to survive the tidal effects of the solar flyby.
Amplifying light signals? Are you talking about light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation? A laser? What does heat have to do with it?
A diamond under intense heat creates an extremely large spectrum amplifying its light signals.
What interference?
What would the exacting interference cause...plasma discharge or a radial discharge.
No. What did it do?
Have you seen what ISON apparently did upon its passing of Mars.
I did.
can you offer a feasible explanation to this ?

What would those ramifications do to our solar system.

None. It's nonsense.
daryllynSo, there you have it, folks. ISON is just a comet

Now I have a hypothetical question for Mr. Phage -
How can anyone be sure of what ISON will exactly do when we know NOTHING about it's inner core makeup..?
