There are a few things I think I can add to this thread. I know I haven't introduced myself, but I don't care and honestly never post anything anyways. I just read through a lot of different threads and take my own opinion on things and also enjoy reading through different threads and hearing everyones insight on things. I just feel that since I have experienced the submarine life first hand, I should add my thoughts. First of all, I spent almost 5 years on a submarine. I was an Electronics Technician (Communications division) also known as a Radioman. I had a TS clearance and was also read into some SCI (Sensitive Compartmented Information) programs. In all my time, which includes 2 deployments, a surge deployment, and countless other underways. I never heard of any underwater submarine bases. If one or more exists, then the people that know about them would most likely never talk about them, because I'm sure they don't wanna go to jail for the rest of their life lol. There wasn't much of anything that a radioman doesn't know while on the submarine, because all information comes in and goes out from us.

The first thing I need to address is that there is a 99.9% chance that your friend lied about his clearance, because I have never met a Cullinary Specialist (cook) that had a Top Secret clearance. There is no need for a cook to have such a high clearance, they all have Secret clearances. The signal he would have gotten if he was docked would have been an announcement over the 1MC (intercom circuit) "The ship is moored". The depth gauge saying that it was at 400 feet could have just been an a gauge out of calibration, I've seen it many times. Regarding the mysterious personnel, they could have been the personnel that work closely with the Radioman. I can't say much about them, because basically everything about them is classified. Even the fact that they are on the Submarine is classified, but I will say that it has nothing to do with Underwater bases. The only plausible explanation that makes it possible that their is any truth behind this story is if he served on the USS Parche. The USS Parche was like the black ops submarine. They were assigned all of the highly classified missions. I believe all the personnel have TS clearances, required to take polygraph tests, have a rigorous screening process, etc. etc. In my honest opinion, I highly doubt that we have underwater military bases and if we do, you would only know about them if you were on one of the spec ops submarines. If anyone has any more questions about submarines or feels like I didn't address something just ask. I would be more than happy to, as long as its not classified of course.

They don't. It's already been proven in this thread. Is the Executive Chef at a 5 star restaurant the "cook"? No. Cook is not a position on a sub.

Oh, ok, sure...you're right. I A G R E E with you...Mr I'MALWAYSRIGHT...

OccamsRazor04
I already conceded it's possible he called himself that, and detailed a slew of problems with your post that make it completely unbelievable. Funny how you didn't touch those.

Oh, you mean, like I could care less whether you continue to consume oxygen or not? Yeah, I ignored the other statements. Go on, spout off as you like. See if I care, or respond for that matter

Great post mate I never know what I can put in these forums with ref to submarines but all I can say is submarine life has its good points and its bad points like months away from family and friends. I have missed most my kids growing up. But if you want to spin some yarns send me a message we can talk nautical stuff lol

A good portion of the DOD budget is black budget and heavily classified. That means few people within congress get to read and sign the appropriation bills and even fewer know the details of each program.

I have heard of all kinds of rumors of both military and alien bases, both below ground and below water.

I have seen "shooting stars", watched ufo documentaries about dulce nm and northeast india. I have read about hollow earth and hollow moon. I have heard testimony about reverse engineering ufo craft at s-4 nevada.

I think one needs to be a fool to discount all this stuff. Something very fish has been going on for a long, long, long time.

I have also seen many episodes of "ancient aliens" on history channel which attempts to write history correctly even if they dont have all the information yet. Great series and brave people digging up stuff!

star and flag. nice thread.

Just remember, someone here thinks you're a FOOL for not listening to THEM as THEY know ALL the ANSWERS!!!!

Thanks for your input...

Apparently you've never heard of "paraphrasing"...."a statement that says something that another person has said or written in a different way.".....I myself am not military, nor have I ever been on a submarine in any particular fashion. Had I have been, I still might have gotten some of the nomenclature wrong, just because I tend to gloss over things I don't feel are particularly important (but yet I can memorize phone numbers and CC#'s without hardly any effort at all...go figure).

I appreciate that *you* have never encountered this. However, I think I can fairly say that *you* were most likely privy to *everything* the US Navy, or the US Military / US Gov't does.

Perhaps you should take that into consideration before you make such a grand statement?

TextText NavyI'm using the text Navy in this text cause its appropriate. Don't all you guys throw the baby out with the bath water. What SN is relaying has quite some merit to it. Firstly if we as a people want to live on other plants with an alien enviorment what better place to start then by living in our closest alien enviorment under the sea. Think about it.... it makes alot sense. IMhO reply to post by SadistNocturne

I couldn't agree with you more on the "PROBABILITY" that his is something we would do to practice for deep space exploration....

All I am trying to say is that based on my experience. The likeliness of underwater military bases are slim to none. I wasn't trying to offend anyone, just putting in my 2 cents.

Okay this is very interesting and very timely - one of my friends is doing research on underGROUND bases in the mainland United States. She got wind of the idea that submarines were actually being used in those inland bases.

Underground bases, like real ones, are often actually built in cave systems. Now, not all cave systems and tunnels are filled with air - some are filled with water. There are more than likely entrances to cave systems under the U.S. that are beneath the ocean's surface. The cave systems also more than likely are interconnected -

So a submarine would be a decent choice for transporting people and goods to underground bases, I could even see some underground bases with only naval entrances.

And this is the kind of garbage that gets to the front page of ATS these days?

Wow, this is sad.

Brotherman
"Anyone have anything they can add to this "

Ever heard that you can insert and extract members in certain "fields" of work on a submarine? SEALS do it.

Yepp, heard of that time and time again.

One thing I can extrapolate from the conversation in general though, is whereas he did mention SEALS being inserted into the Middle East via submarine, he did not state that the missing Navy staff were seals.

- SN

I never said they were SEALS either I was alluding to that particular group to show that this practice is used that was all I was trying to do.

I believe that if the government had built underwater bases that long ago that it would've eventually gotten out and become public knowledge. Take Area 51 for example. They lied about the existence of that base for years, despite the fact that people had pictures of it. Eventually they knew they couldn't lie about it anymore without damaging their credibility with the public. Also there would be more individuals coming forward with this info. Who knows, the military could have underwater installations NOW, but I think that it's highly improbable they had them back then.

I always wondered what they used to pick up the missile fragments. I wonder if they used a robotic arm or divers...

I know that Navy divers have those hard suits and can go down deeper than most SCUBA divers can. You have to be a strong swimmer to be a Navy diver!

Underwater military facilities? Uh...DUH!! The minute the first submarine successfully traversed the sea and returned to base, they probably started looking into the possibility of mobile subaquatic command centers. The Iraqis hide in the mountains, we hide in the sea. How hard would it be?
