Ancient Aliens -- A Love Story Writing Contest [AAC] [WINNERS!]

Good afternoon fellow writers!

Having taken suggestions and feedback from members in this thread, I've decided to put a little twist on this month's writing contest.

The theme will be a mixture of two of the most popular suggested in the thread linked above.

A love story, with an ancient alien twist.

I'm leaving the details vague in order to encourage a lot of creativity. This can take place between humans, aliens or whatever else you want.

Contest will run from August 7th 2013 to September 5th 2013 at Midnight.

Rules:

All entries must include [AAC] in the title and be posted in the Short stories forum.

You must link to your story within this thread as well.

No Min/Max character count.

All T&C's apply. (this means no sex stuff please)

Maximum of 3 entries per writer.

Any form of writing is acceptable, including poetry for example.

Judging and winners will be done a bit differently. In order to encourage more participation among non writers, this new format will be followed.

There will be 3 winners among members who already have "Writer" status. They will be judged separately from all other entries based on stars and flags received.

1st Place -- 5 Applause & next contest theme choice.**
2nd Place -- 3 Applause
3rd Place -- 1 Applause

There will be another 2 winners from members who do not yet have "Writer" status. These will also be determined by stars and flags and I would highly encourage all members, writer or non writer to really read the stories and vote accordingly. Both winners will receive writer status & 2 applause.

Each winner will appear in the showcase of champions.

There will also be 1 honorable mention selected by me and a few other members I will ask to send me their favorites. That member will receive 2 applause, as well as writer status.

**You'll notice in the prizes listed above, something new and shiny. 1st place winners will have the choice to select the theme for the following month's contest. The only way this does not happen is if the non writer threads garner more stars and flags, the story with the most stars/falgs will be determined the winner for this prize, regardless of status.

So, some changes to the format, hopefully for the best.

I guess watching all of those ancient alien shows on H2 may be useful for something besides crazy hairdo's after all!

I don't know that I am a writer, but I think I am going to give it a try.

Unfortunately this might be a HUGE challange for me as Love Stories are really not my thing.

I'm in, might actually do it with a disco theme.

After all the conditioning of television and movies. Where we always see the best and the worst on television or at the cinema. And yet yearn for it to be in our lives and we always come crashing down to Earth. Realizing that "true love" must only be in the movies.

I just wonder how unbelievable a true romantic tale will be. One that includes 2 astronauts.

Hi...!!!! Long time no see.... I am back, and I am in on this one!

I like this one, since this is a topic I have not watched many movies/ read many books on - therefore something I am certain to be able to write about in original form!
