Watching these girls return home today I was overcome by my own emotions.

As a parent I can't imagine the horror of waking up everyday not knowing if your child is dead or alive.

Those three girls, now women, are a testament to all that humans can endure. I salute their courage and their will to survive.

In a world gone to hell I'm glad we got to see some good news for once.

Being from Cleveland and having seen their parents on the news year after year, holding out hope, pleading for the public's help, I'm so glad this had a happy ending.

Welcome home ladies!

I haven't read the rest of the quotes, but as a Militant and extremely non apologetic women's rights advocate, I'd like to Correct a few uh, Pornified misogynist MYTHS if I may,

Calling sexual kinks myths just totally destroyed your credibility, and your vitriolic attitude doesn't help at all. Every type of sexual pleasure has it's uber-freaks, and the mental states of some can venture to the point of sadistic or psychopathic. That is not to say what gets one off is the cause of the extremes, nor is it the manifestation of sickness in every participant. I know people very in to BDSM. Either gender is the submissive, just as either is the dominant. None of them are weak little wiminz catering to teh menz, it's a level of excitement based off carefully constructed levels of control for them. They get off on being the dominant one week, and the submissive the next. Calling the women who find an extreme amount of pleasure in BDSM "patriarchal stupid women" and "bimbos" is not only patently false, but it's also highly insulting. Not everyone is a Puritan in the bedroom, others like different things for pleasure. It's not up to you to decide what consenting ADULTS enjoy for their thrills. If you don't like it, by all means, don't do it. But so long as it's legal, and the participants are consenting adults, just shut up. BDSM and other kinks aren't my thing at all, but I'm not going to berate my BDSM friends about it. Shame on you, you're not feminist, you're just banging a drum to be focused on, and it's not even meaningful noise from you. Fact of the matter is, you're latching on to a sexual kink branch, and using it as a way to justify lashing out as a sexuality bigot. Consensual BDSM as a culture, & sexual slavery - - which encompasses ALL ages, creeds, cultures, and both genders - - aren't remotely the same thing. Kind of like how a real feminist, and someone as unapologetically disrespectful as yourself, are not the same thing.

Just watched the news conference. I am in utter shock/disbelief that only Ariel is being charged in this. On top of that I didn't hear any questions from the media about that either. What the heck?

They say his brothers didn't know what was going on? Really? I find that a little difficult to believe, but they may have been just as in the dark about it as everyone else was.

I'm not too clear on why the other brothers were taken in in the first place. Does anyone recall why?

I'm shocked too about the two brothers. They didn't say there wasn't enough evidence, they basically cleared them. If they are innocent, how horrible this must be from them.

As for the lack of counts, you would think there would be physical assault charges, child abuse and murder for the miscarriages. It's very difficult to add on charges.

In watching the news tonight, I'm wondering why they roped off the yellow house next door and spent all day with a large forensic team there. In leaving the neighboring house late in the day...the team took a lot of items with them.

Did the brother also rent the house next door? Was there an underground tunnel between the 2 homes. I can't wrap my mind around this new addition to the investigation....

Love how the police, after entering the house one of the women escaped from, reports "we found them".

Yeah, 10 years and you, the police, didn't actually find them. You didn't even want to believe the 911 call and some of tips. Thank goodness an average citizen was willing to help.

I agree with you on that one. I find it very hard to believe, that for 10 years, the 2 brothers did not know what all was going on inside of that house. Are we expected to believe that they did not hear anything going on, even raising up any concern for the noise that may have been coming from the persons room?

While it is plausible that such may have occured, but in all likelyhood, it is improbable, unless the 2 other brothers are hard of hearing. After all from what I can understand, and have seen, babies are not quiet, did they not think it was strang that the middle brother suddenly had an infant there in the house, that would cry, or that when he went shopping that there was any indication of such?

Something does not add up, and ultimately, I suspect that he is taking the fall for the other 2.

You want a conspiracy twist on this one in a great while actual good news story...
Chew on this, These girls were found yesterday, the story is front page nationwide all while a lil hearing is starting today into Bengazi...coincedence or convienience, Also Mr Obumma made a special trip for Travonn Martin, Why No word from him regarding these three girls?

Otherwise That Neighbor is a hero and a true American

i find alot of it fishy, we should do some research, like who cries at the door let me out and doesn't throw the #($&&# table threw the window

Sorry if already posted...
But it will be interesting to see if they test for DNA results regarding the children.
We will then know who the responsible parties are which may or may not
include all 3 brothers or maybe even outsiders. It's all too crazy at the moment.

Cheers

Des, they are also searching a house 3 doors down from his. This whole thing will get a lot weirder before all is said and done.

It isn't the best neighborhood, quite a few vacant houses in the area is why. As to the brothers, if they aren't being charged in this at all they likely didn't know anything about what was going on. Or at the very least didn't give the police any reason to think they did. Cleveland prosecutors are the kind that charge you with everything they think they can no matter how remote the chance you will be found guilty.

This may be a little off-topic and I would like to express my relief that these women made it alive!

But... WOW!!

VERRRY goood post indeed! I didn't expect the likes around here - if you know WHAT I mean.
You tried not even to be political correct in any way if I got you right - what I appreciate very much.

I applaud you for that friend!

I lived in Cleveland for 3 years for college. I moved back to Columbus mid 2010. Cleveland is such a dirty run down crime infested city. Worst than Detroit.

I remember when living there seeing pictures of the girls from time to time. I actually lived pretty close to where they were found..

I've lived in Cleveland my whole life, minus the 4 years I spent in the military. I've been all over this country, and yes Cleveland has some rundown areas, most cities do.

You would be hard pressed though to find a city with nicer, more charitable citizens. When a disaster strikes, no matter where in the world it occurs, the people of this city, a city I'm proud to call home, are among the first to stand up and donate whatever they can.

I love how you say, " and yes Cleveland has some run down areas, most cities do."

Some.bad areas?!?!? Dude the whole east side of Cleveland is literally a war zone. One of the only places in America that you WILL be pulled over just for being white. The amount of abandon houses is ASTONISHING to say the least! A good portion of the streets in the east have more abandon houses than occupied ones. The people there are disgusting. I lived with a roomate from Detroit and another from NYC. We all agreed how rude the general population of Cleveland was. We still joke about how horrible that city is. My car was broken into TWICE!

Hard pressed to find a city with nicer (stated above), more charitable (Cleveland is broke and unemployed) citizens. Hmmm...

Move to Columbus... Seriously. If Ohio was the Championship Chicago Bulls team, Columbus would be Jordan. Cleveland would be Rodman.

I wondered the same thing but write it off as she was in a panic, desperate, and did the first thing that came to mind when she saw people outside.

The weirdest thing about this whole story, for me, is what Amanda said to the 911 operator: gave her full name, exactly how long she's been missing, and said it all as though the operator knew exactly who she was and what she was talking about. Locked in a house for a decade does one not lose since of time? I was unemployed for three months and quickly forgot what day of the week it was. And if she really knew she'd been 'missing' for ten years then I'd expect her to declare that she is alive, assuming that her family must have figured she was dead by now. I don't care what the family says now, that they never gave up hope (her mom did), why would Berry immediately assume the world thought she was still alive?

Yes she could have been allowed to watch the news so she knew the current date, and yes maybe in her panic she just assumed the 911 operator had been waiting for a call from one missing girl for a decade and would know exactly who Amanda Berry is upon announcement...but it doesn't sit right for me. And she never mentions the other girls in the call or her daughter, just herself. Only herself. Maybe in that moment she only had thoughts of herself (trauma brings down all the facades, doesn't it?) or figured she would explain more when the police got there?

Oh and why did Castro kill all the babies except hers?

Yeah, I just jumped into this thread without reading all the pages. Sorry if I'm repeating something already addressed

So he plans to plead NOT GUILTY. A truely twisted person that has no remorse.

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest and I'm glad really because if he is found guilty, his lack of remorse and acknowledgment will only make his sentencing more appropriate and tough. These kind of guys cannot see what they have done because they absolutely cannot acknowledge the monster within them without total self destruction.
