This here is the problem. The G.O.P. is no worse than the Democrats. They're 2 sides of the same corrupt coin. Under Bush, black unemployment was 9.4% and under Obama it has went as high as 16% while corporate profits are at historic highs.
The point is blacks need to go to the G.O.P. and work with them in places they agree and give them some votes. It's just silly and puts blacks in a powerless position when our community is just slaves to the Democrat Party.
When the Gays threatened to take support from Obama, he came out for Gay Marriage. When Hispanics threatened to take away support, Obama was on so many Spanish programs, I thought he was going to start speaking Spanish.
If blacks get a little wrestles, the Democrats just send out Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson to black Churches to round up the Negroes and this needs to stop.
You are my hero! You get it! All the politicians use the black vote by spewing empty promises. The black community has been abused this way so long that their culture reflects it. Negatively. There is only a difference in basic philosophy between the parties. Republicans believe in Constitutional government. Democrats ( Left leaning anyway) believe in big government to control everything. Republicans would actually be better for the black community because they desperately want their votes. If you research it, the Republicans have given more to the black community than Democrats in the last 25 years. I have black Republican friends that are doing quite well. Better than me actually.
BINGO!!
Both parties understand a NO VOTE. So if Blacks were to go to the G.O.P. in places they agree and give them votes, the G.O.P. would bend over backwards for votes and the Democrats couldn't take blacks for granted.
It's just basic common sense because both parties are 2 sides of the same corrupt coin.
George W. Bush is laying a claim to be the President who did the best job creating jobs for blacks. Currently, black unemployment is 9.4%, which is significantly lower than the 10% it averaged in the Clinton years. The current rate is also much lower than the average black unemployment rate over the past 30 years, which is 12.4%.
Some on the left have complained that even if the black unemployment rate is dropping, there is still too great a gap between the unemployment rate for blacks and for whites.
If this complaint were sincere, those who made it should be pleased to learn the gap between black and white unemployment, which stands today at 4.9 points, is smaller than the 5.5-point average gap of the Clinton years and the 6.9-point average gap of the past 30 years.

Then I ask you, What can a President do to make our country better? What type of policy can they, without the backing of Congress pass?

Why would Democrats actually try and help blacks? Makes no sense.. blacks vote 95%+ for Democrats. That means they don't need to think about blacks, help blacks, support black programs or create black job assistance .. nothing. Because they know blacks will vote for them no matter what. Hispanics on the other hand are up for grabs, and whites are split down the middle, even Asians are divided between the two parties. Blacks are Democrats, hook line and sinker.

Oh to get to the bottome of this, perhaps we first need to agree on WHAT can make this country begin to recover.
Such things as employers beginning to hire AND pay a wage you can take care of your family with.

Obama inherited debt but he also added debt and misery with his horrible policies.
So yes you can blame Obama just like I blamed Bush for his out of control borrowing and spending. For some reason people act like Obama doesn't have to take responsibility for anything.

I know I'm the only one on the North American continent that does not care.
Guaranteed I am the only one on ATS today that does not care.
The Majority of Black America, that represent black people in our political system, voted for Barrack Obama...
Also Jamie Fox, and Chris Rock, whether you can understand it or not are Black leaders.....
I am guessing your not American...

Misery?
Seriously? We are not going through misery in the united states. Come on.
Congolese people in a civil war are going through misery.
Rwanda?
Venezuelans under chavez?
Chinese,Filipino,Sudanese(religious purges),north koreans(loony tunes government) are going through "misery".
It doesn't look like President Obama will be able to shed his reputation as the food stamp president any time soon. According to new data from the USDA, the number of people on food stamps has hit another all time high of 47,710,324 which is up by 600,000 from August. To be fair, this number is a bit distorted due to disaster relief from Hurricane Sandy.
