You can call it government subsidized medicine all you want, that would be accurate. Calling it Socialism is just simply ignorant.

Hardly if a person is not paying for their own care and government forced subsization the only means of funding that care is exactly what "socialism' is.

Then I guess anyone in the military is living in a socialist bubble?

It's ironic too, because I've got friends in uniform who are staunch Republicans that treat "socialism" like a four letter word.

I wish I had that picture of Jackie Chan throwing his hands up going "WTH?"

Socialism doesn't mean government subsidized. Government subsidized means government subsidized. Individual Doctors determining cost of medical visits and treatments, technicians determining cost of tests... would be Socialist Medicine.

I love it when someone brings up the military the difference is they actually earn their money they actually do something that benefits the entires nations population unlike those social engineering programs.

Social Engineering such as Koch funded legislation for 'school choice' in which public schools are forced to teach children creationism and climate change denial?

Can someone tells me what happens in America if you are diagnosed with cancer but have no health insurance?

In this country you get cancer treatment for free regardless of health insurance.

Is it the same in America?

Also what happens when you are a pensioner and disabled but do not have money for a private home?

In the UK a health care worker comes to your house and visits you up to 3 times a day if you like, to clean, prepare meals help you with medication and carry out regular medical checks, there are also services available for helpers to do your shopping for you.

Is it the same in America?

Words and terms have correct definitions and application. Using them incorrectly to emotionally manipulate people isn't very honest.

Government does not decide what doctors get paid, they don't decide what gets covered?

Whose is being wilfully ignorant here eh?

You're the one that brought up Social Engineering.

So what? what do people think socialism is never mind they call it everything but what it actually is.

Words and terms have correct definitions and application. Using them incorrectly to emotionally manipulate people isn't very honest.

Can't get any more honest than the military earns their cash, and in that action every single person in this country benefits unlike the cradle to grave nanny state.

No government doesn't determine how much doctors make please prove otherwise. Socialism had an original definition, you can research it if you have the integrity to.

Soldiers earn their cash and deserve a raise.

And it's Capitalism that can't exist without a Nanny.

Medicare covers 80% those doctors take a 20% loss every time look it up.

What?

Here is my integrity anyone trying to make it the topic needs look at their own.

1 : any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

Covers money, education, healthcare,,free homes, etc;. the distributon of goods.

a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property

the current admin has got that one covered agian as in 2nd amendment, and money "fair share".

: a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

Covered on that people are only allowed a certain amount of money they rest is owed to the government or the majority.

System of social organization in which private property and the distribution of income are subject to social control; also, the political movements aimed at putting that system into practice. Because “social control” may be interpreted in widely diverging ways, socialism ranges from statist to libertarian, from Marxist to liberal. Th

Is that original definition?
Nope.

Medicare covers 80% those doctors take a 20% loss every time look it up.

And who is making them accept Medicare/Medicaid? Insurance companies, not the government. Who lobbies for more people to be covered by medicare/medicaid? Who lobbies for more health issues/treatments/medicines/tests to be covered by medicare/medicaid?

It isn't socialists, it isn't the people, it isn't the government lobbying itself... it's the private owners of health insurance companies, who like many other Capitalists refuse to let demand dictate cost and instead go crying to the government to subsidize so they can keep their prices high and going higher.

And propaganda like this is why there is a whole demographic unable to engage in political discourse, the sad thing is; That demographic crosses both generations and national borders.

Socialism is not a dirty word, tho many fail to acknowledge this.

Reagan should have sticked to acting. In no socialist country is a doctor obligated to accept any patient. He can choose to not accept people whom have a compulsory insurance and can accept people whom only have a private insurance or pay rightout. If he is good enough that people are willing to pony up the cash that is.

If there is a better deal out there than a compulsory health insurance people in Europe are free to forego it and accept the coverage of a competitor.

However private health insurers in Europe do not even try to compete with compulsory insurances. Everybody gets a cold now and then so that would be bad buisness for them. What they do instead is offer services on top of the compulsory ones.

Are those people serving in the military the only people earning their money? There are those of us who work 40 hour a week jobs for low wages (because in the real world not everybody can be a millionaire), we work our butts off, we pay our taxes, pay our dues. I pay taxes, this goes back into the community, goes into social security, medicare, safety net. I earned the benefits that I paid into, so please get off it.

He never stopped acting. He played the longest acting gig of his life, being president of the United States.
