No I will not "get off it"

Are those people serving in the military the only people earning their money?

They do a hell of a lot more than 50 million Americans collecting food stamps.

There are those of us who work 40 hour a week jobs for low wages (because in the real world not everybody can be a millionaire),

Obviously their motto is since they aren't no one else should be hence the "fair share" garbage.

we work our butts off, we pay our taxes, pay our dues.

So do most millionaires contrary to popular dogma.

I pay taxes,

So do they more in fact

this goes back into the community

Yeah whatever

I earned the benefits that I paid into, so please get off it.

No you don't neither does anyone else you earned 6% then someone else(the employer) matched that and the difference is made up by the rest of us.

Tell me to get off it really?

Not even on it yet.

Right. Because you're only a hard working American if you serve in the army?? Every single one of those 50 million Americans struggling are lazy? Communist? You've just decided to make this big generalization to suit your argument? Do you actually pay attention to what you're saying here?

And regardless of whether we're talking about soldiers taking advantage of government funded healthcare, support, in the end it's still government funded help and support, it doesn't change the nature of that support.

Obviously huh? Who said that everybody should be equal? I haven't seen one person argue this.

So do most millionaires

Oh really? All millionaires do this? After the trillion dollar Bush tax cuts that favored the wealthy, the multi-billion dollar tax cuts during the Reagan administration that again favored wealthy, after what? More than 30 years of this illusion we've been living in that more tax cuts favored to the wealthy will create more "jobs" and better income per capita, how's that been going Neo?? The average family income has been lagging in comparison to the top 5% have more than doubled their share of the wealth in this country, how's the trickle down free market system working huh?

Yeah whatever

Yea, whatever indeed. People like you are actually pushing the Republican party and the conservative movement toward the fringe. Keep it up buddy, keep on showing your ugly side for the people of this country to see.

Who has been fighting a war the last decade?

That person collecting welfare watching Jersey shore?

And regardless of whether we're talking about soldiers taking advantage of government funded healthcare, support, in the end it's still government funded help and support, it doesn't change the nature of that support

Considering they are getting shot at and limbs blown off they are "entitled" unlike those who were sitting on the sofa watching Jersey shore.

Oh really? All millionaires do this? After the trillion dollar Bush tax cuts that favored the wealthy,

I do love that talking point since the current guy and his party were fighting to Keep those Bush tax cuts when they said they only "benefited" the wealthy.

Yeah with over 200 million Americans getting some form of government check and no way in hell to pay for it is rather ugly and to keep defending the status quo.

Current social engineering spending is 2.2 trillion dollars that is not including defense.

This was 2 years ago and a trillion dollars later

n 2010 alone, government at all levels oversaw a transfer of over $2.2 trillion in money, goods and services. The burden of these entitlements came to slightly more than $7,200 for every person in America. Scaled against a notional family of four, the average entitlements burden for that year alone approached $29,000.

online.wsj.com...

Seems to me after spending trillions to the tune of a 16 trillion hole and by 2016 it is going to be over 21 trillion the people would be rolling in the dough.

But they aren't and the solution is what?

Spend more cash we do not have that is the ugly side of the current state of the union take any potshots you want at the right but they did not create the federal reserve, social security, medicare, medicaid all things that have destroyed this country beyond recognition.

Well, I wouldn't really call it capitalism. At least not the good kind.

What we have is plutocratic rule via corporatism / mercantilism where the wealthiest corporations buy political favor directly and use that influence to lobby for (or in many cases -- "author") legislation preventing competition in their niche.

Ironically enough -- this trend achieved escape velocity with the election of President Reagan, who granted unprecedented access to the executive and legislative branches of the federal government to his corporate sponsors. Particularly those on Wall Street, such as Donald Regan, Reagan's Secretary of the Treasury (who had worked for Merril Lynch from 1946 to 1980 when he was appointed to the job by Reagan).

Reagan lecturing on socialism is especially rich, given how much his appointees did to move the US towards crony corporatism and away from "free markets."

Does this argument make sense to you? This idea that unless you're somebody willing to join the army to be sent off into some unjust war like Iraq to get one of your limbs blasted away, you're just a lazy American collecting food stamps? Why are people like you so eager to divide this country between soldiers, civilians, rich and poor? How can you sit here and attack every single American out there who is not serving in the military and is struggling?? You're just not making any sense, just more Fox noise and that's it.

Considering they are getting shot at and limbs blown off they are "entitled"

Where did I say they weren't entitled Neo? What I said was that the nature of those benefits they are receiving, the kind of benefits, would by your definition be socialist. Whether they are soldiers or civilians doesn't the change the fact that they are receiving entitlements, the very thing people like you are raging against, and it's hypocritical.

I do love that talking point since the current guy and his party were fighting to Keep those Bush tax cuts

Exactly, Obama and many of the Democrats are continuing much of the same trickle down policy that were held by previous Republicans presidents. I'm glad we can agree on something (whether you choose to admit it or not). Meanwhile people like you continue to rail against this president for being socialist, yet in another breath you admit right here that he's continuing the same tax policy. Unbelievable

Yeah with over 200 million Americans getting some form of government check

Really? 200 million? Where's your source that 200 million Americans are getting "some form of government check"?

Why the hell not?

Worked so well for the current administration for 2 elections now suddenly people have a problem with it.

Can't help it if some people don't like the taste of their own medicine.

The difference is that key word earn they actually do something to earn them.

Really hate doing the work that others should be doing themselves it does not take a lot of effort to look those figures up.

50 million on SS www.ssa.gov...
50 million om Medicare anyone receiving SS gets medicare
50 million on welfare money.cnn.com...
50 million om Medicaid.money.cnn.com...

Those are low ball estimates.

All those programs are welfare tho none ever want to call them that.

Welfare is in the eye of the beholder. I prefer the term "profit-sharing." Since corporations are people and countries should be run like corporations are run.

So in your world neo, theres no CIA selling coc aine or drones smaller then the O on your keyboard or a secret space program? That would be a nice place to live ,but we dont. There is always a price to pay for these things. Why would u care if the top 4% have to pay more in taxes if they scale back entitlement services?

Why should I care?

Because this nation is being ran in to the ground on empty promises and giving a group of people in this country whatever the hell they want, and never being told no.

Less than 5 million millionaires exist in this country 400 billionaires exist if they were an endangered species those same people would be screaming save them but they aren't they are screaming destroy them.

Take their property who cares as long as it isn't them people want those programs they need to start paying for them themselves.

Missed the fact that social engineering is currently spending 2.2 trillion on those programs alone that is just for 3 that doesn't include 1 trillion in student loan debt nor that free housing they love so much.

What is the score how many millionaires has those programs created?

None they keep them exactly where they are always waiting on that government check, and selling their votes to people who couldnt give a crap about them, but only what keeps them in office.

It doesn't matter whether by your definition they "earned" those "socialist" benefits, they're still dependent on socialism one way or another. It does not make a difference.

Really hate doing the work that others should be doing themselves it does not take a lot of effort to look those figures up.

50 million on SS www.ssa.gov...
50 million om Medicare anyone receiving SS gets medicare
50 million on welfare money.cnn.com...

Firstly, it's your responsibility to provide a source to back up your claims, not mine. If you want to trounce around that 200 million number as if it's fact, it's your responsibility to back it up.

Secondly, the numbers stack up to 49.1% of the population, around 155 million people, who are receiving some kind of benefit. While this number is still high, it's no where close to the 200 million figure you decided to pull out and argue here. The truth is, you just made up that number:
blogs.wsj.com...

"Those are low ball estimates" alright... Please note as well that's it's fairly obvious you weren't adding those figures of yours up correctly, as you will need to note that many folks who will be dependent more than one benefit, it does happen. It's not "one benefit" for each person.

What are we talking about when we are discussing government benefits by the way? Social security is not a benefit all by itself, it's a federal program that includes welfare, medicare, medicaid, food stamps and so forth:
www.aflcio.org...
www.socialsecurity.gov...

Like it or not, these kinds of benefits, which you view as socialist, are an inevitable part of civilization. There is not one modern high income country that does not have a socialist program of a similar nature in place, not one. There never has been in modern times.

It still astounds me how you attack those people struggling with no clue of their circumstances, how you divide the population according to military, civilian, rich and poor. How far has this attitude of yours gotten you Neo? Considering the state of the Republican party and various conservative groups have not been fairing well since the 2006 midterms. Not that the Democrats are all that great, but this attitude of yours is certainly not shared by the majority of people in this country. I just don't understand how you can continue on like this?
