omg yes when you think about it, well one thing i always say is that, where there is evil, there is good also, the white hats are doing there best and i think Philip Schofield has stepped into the arena i so hope so, i am worried that this will disappear, they will find something else to take our minds off these heinous crimes. it is reptilian cos it sure ain't human!

I would welcome any person on that list to sue ITV, at least it would be some action. Currently there is a lot of trial by Twitter and the likes. We need real action by the Police to investigate these alleged paedophiles.

However, I feel there will be a whitewash in Whitehall and if this goes as deep as is suggested, there will be a lot of top cops covering for each other.

It's time to throw them all out, strip them of their priviledges and start again!!

Never should we have to read about such things again. Alas, I am realistic and know this will not happen, but if they get away with something like this, it proves that conspiracies reign supreme in Politics.

I think you may be right which is why we shouldn't shut up about it, tell anyone who'll listen do everything you can no matter how small to make this a national issue that wont go away! look at hillsborough that never went away and now they're finally starting to get justice through word of mouth and a solid effort by people who felt it was important.

This is much worse though perhaps we'll never see justice done but look how poorly people view our politician now, if people knew they would be spitting on they're local politician as they passed them on the street. Prahaps we can't lock em up and throw away the key but this may finally be the wake up call people need to see whats really infront of them.

Philip Schofield seems to be doing the right thing for the right reason at the right time but where are his fellow mps rallying behind him where is the media giving this story the attention it deserves. The prime minister flips and he flops on the issue like a fish out of water, either he already knew or he is putting the good of the conservative party ahead of the children

My thoughts exactly. The way he immediately started calling it a witch hunt on gays? Well, he knows a lot more than is being let on imo. He knows this could destroy British Politics, not just the Conservative Party. Shame on him!!!

I am going to get to those links after i get supper churned out for the troops (er, troop....only one kid at home nowadays). I am looking forward to being horrified I just wonder, what is really going to come of it? Are you going to accept the upper crust being protected by a wave of lower levels, and maybe a few mid levels falling on their swords?

Frankly i agree with Cameron. I thought it was disgusting by Philip Schofield, particularly the way the list was able to be read. A list based on nothing more than speculation and conjecture. Cameron was right, it is becoming a witch hunt.

These sorts of allegations need thoroughly investigating. What they do need is a knee jerk media based witch hunt. I honestly hope that both Philip Schofield and This Morning get sued to high heaven by those on the list - perhaps then they will learn about making public allegations that can destroy lives without the slightest shred of evidence.

I fully expect to get flamed very badly for this but you know what? I simply do not care. I am sick to death of the way our nation is going with trial by media and knee jerk reactions for every thing. And before any of you start, no i do not think paedophilia is ok and no i do not think anyone guilty should be let off - they should be prosecuted to the highest levels.

Frankly, you should all be careful of what you wish for. You get the society you deserve and ours is fast deteriorating.

By equating it with homosexuality Cameron is merely switching on the politically correct panopticon so that people will have to be careful with what they say. He's obfuscating. People will now think twice about discussing it in case they're labelled homophobic. Islamophobe. Racist. Homophobe. They're all designed to stop discussion.

And I say it's ok to have a witch hunt, if the people you're hunting really are witches (a witch in this case being a child killing paedophile).

Who would you like to investigate these allegations?, who can be trusted to carry out the kind of investigations? the government, who are implicated? Maybe the police who are also implicated? The judiciary? Again possible implicated. All these groups want to protect their own and have been successful in keeping this under wraps for decades. Why do you expect them to be any different today?

As I have said, this will all be covered up, because no one will dare take this conspiracy on.
This is not about Philip Schofield. This is about the abuse of children by powerful people that is being covered up. You say our society is deteriorating. You have to ask if ts any wonder with the corruption that exists with the very highest levels.

What is needed is a fully independent inquiry examining all the evidence including all the evidence that has been redacted from all those earlier so called inquiries. In an ideal world this would happen, unfortunately we dont live in an ideal world, we all know the excuses that will be used, too much time has passed, and witness statements are unreliable and so on, they even went as far as using the official secrets act to hide evidence about the Dunblane shooting so I am not holding my breath for any meaningful outcome.

I simply refuse to support any action that is a form of vigilantism, which this list undoubtedly is. Whatever happened to "innocent until proven guilty"? I have said it before and i stand by it - you cannot cherry pick what crimes this covers, it is either all or none.

I am not having a go at for you for your beliefs or anything like that. To me, i simply see this has descended into a witch hunt and i do not wish to join in with the crowing. I aim to try and avoid these threads from now until we have something concrete to discuss rather than bandying random names about and allegations about, not for something this serious.

No I don't believe they are all corrupt, but when it comes to turning in their own, let's say they are more than reluctant. The problem is these young kids have come forward to the police and were laughed at, not believed or silenced. So why do you expect it to change now?

I'm not saying all Catholics or Muslims are paedophiles, but groups have been getting away with it in their communities and cliques in very much the same way the highest members in the establishment in our society have.

I just don't trust those at the highest levels to investigate themselves over this.

By the way, I'm not advocating vigilantism. I've never been a fan of this. I just can't see the highest levels of the establishment investigating themselves. So we just accept the inevitable cover up. We all get to play a part in that cover up too for fear of rocking the boat.

I get your position and actually agree that it is dangerous to follow rumour however on the first of the lists there is a compilation of individuals whom are or have been involved with the political scene who appear to have so many convctions against them that it beggars belief.................!

I'm guessing those convictions are TRUE and not just speculation, in which case why do we allow and permit those 'criminals' to affect our laws and govern us....?

I totally understand where you are coming from, i simply do not agree with the way this whole thing is going. All i can say regarding the Authorities is that, for example, we have a much a different Police Force now than the one i remember in the 70's and early 80's. I can firmly believe that back in the 70's and 80's things were covered up and brushed away if they got too close to someone with real power. However, i have to say, i simply refuse to believe that is the case today (unless the entire establishment is involved, again something i simply refuse to believe).

I understand your point about the crimes some of these have allegedly committed. If true, it is a question we need to be asking ourselves as a society: Do we allow people to be elected to represent if they have been convicted of a heinous crime in a previous part of their life? If people knew the prospective MP had been a paedo (for example) i am fairly confident they wouldn't win the vote! That said, it crosses into more unwelcome territory for me - that someone who has served a sentence is entitled to continue their lives (the slate is wiped clean). If rehabilitation can be proven then i fundamentally believe in this. It is certainly something to be considered.

I remember this all coming to light when John Major was PM, I was in college in Wrexham and I don't live to far from Wrexham either, so it was all pretty close to home. they had an ivestigation of sorts but the top figures were protected, a person I went to college with at the time had a relative who was high up in North Wales police, and he had the same lawyer as John major, the person in question had been accused by the victims of not taking the allegations seriously, and covering up the allegations of child abuse, using his position to pervert the cause of Justice. It went on for years, I think there was another investigation that went no-where with the following government under Blair. It was handled really badly, and I do believe there was a cover especially because of the MP that was allegedly involved, the Police and the Then Clwyd County Council are at the heart of this, and everyone that was a councilor, senior Police officer and Social worker who was employed back then needs to be investigated thoroughly.

I think Cameron possibly recognised name/s of people on the list who are gay, but not out, and that worried him - fair play to him for that as there have been cases over here of muppets assaulting gays because they think gay means being a paedohile, so if the names had been put on the list by someone who didn't know the difference, it could cause a lot of heartache for them.
That said, I was so proud of Philip for doing what he did, I never realised what big cajones he had, he has gone way up my respect chart. He must not lose his job over this, he has done the victims a great service in showing that there are those in the media who will not let this go, and that there are still those in the media who we can trust.

And this is why the media witch hunt is entirely wrong........
