Exactly the same as misinterpretations on homosexuality.

lol...yes, I believe we have said the same thing.

As I said, we have all seen the results of applying misinterpretations.

But Bible passages and their interpretations aside, there are those who are repelled by homosexuality on a personal level. While I freely admit it does not appeal to me and I am no advocate, I do not campaign against it.

Each is entitled to the one they love.

You asked for a reason to make bigamy illegal. I didn't say it had anything to with me.

So basically that question was just a set up to bash me.

I'm a serial polygamist, rather than a parallel polygamist. Getting them all in the same room at the same time is just not something a sane man will do!

Not if he intends to sleep at night with both eyes closed....

The men referred to in that statement - - - means "white male property owners".

You know though, we'd better stop joking around before somebody too serious gets uppity and decides to have these posts removed for being off topic.

And I read it as the men referred to being all of mankind. There's that pesky interpretation again.

Perhaps we should just agree to disagree. Although I'm not at all sure what it is we seem to be disagreeing about.

I enjoy a good debate, but I will engage in no arguments with anyone.

Then you are making my point. Curse of Ham was used to justify slavery - - just as the bible is used today against homosexuals.

there are those who are repelled by homosexuality on a personal level.

And the #1 reason is the bible.

No one has to like or agree with homosexuality to support EQUAL RIGHTS.

Thank you, thread, for an interesting conversation.

Since this has turned away from being a free and easy exchange of ideals, I will bid you all good-bye.

See you on the boards

I agree. At least in modern times.

It is difficult to actually know what was in Jefferson's mind at the time.

Blacks and Native Americans were considered a sub-species. Exactly how Liberal was Jefferson?
