If the white house counts its supporters by counting its mailing list, then that is a fact right? That cannot be an opinion. So if you know this fact, all you need to do is show us where you learned it from. Your word is most certainly not good enough as this is something you should be able to check.

To answer your question, here is what the WH replies to my emails to them say:

Every email received as a response to my objections to their actions, have the same response, namely that they appreciate my support.

Now if you cannot understand the word support, then I cannot help you.
Look, it is obvious school is out, and all the kids that didn't try to get jobs are on ATS, trolling those of us that paid taxes all these years. It's rather obvious when the chief troller just joined 5/19/2012.
I guess it's time for my vacation from the trollers.. See the rest of you in September, when the kiddies are back in school.

But... this is one reason I do NOT sign up for White House related media. I don't subscribe to their newsletters. I don't friend them on Facebook. I don't make accounts on their site to sign petitions, etc., I simply do not trust them.

Yeah I follow the same rules with Viagra but I still get spammed constantly with crap for it. I am sure it is Obama's fault. What forum should my thread about it go in? Political Madness is it?

I see many saying "So what! Add them to your ad-blocker or spam list." but this misses the point. Does the Government reside above the law in regards to respecting this manner? We can make formal complaints to a company that "spams" us, even after the expressed desire that they stop and the Government will step in. But what about this?

Prof has a valid argument here. Does the Government not have to follow their own laws and regulations in regards to such emailings? Are they complying with CAN-SPAM regulations that businesses have to comply with?

Though it expressly states that business are the primary target, one would wonder if a message is coming from the "white house" is it business and/or commercial? Also when one revokes the previous consent, a business must comply with it and remove them from any list.

If the White House is engaging in an email campaign and a user expresses their desire to no longer receive such communique, they should fall under the purview of this law.

I am thinking you should read the law more carefully. It specifically applies to commerce for a reason. I get that you are all mad that the whitehouse can still spam you but I hate that all kinds of crap still spams me. I do not write threads whining about it or suggesting laws that do not have anything to do with it should.

No he does not. The commerce law is about commerce. If he wants to stop all spam, he needs to get another law passed. What is valid about arguing that a law that does not cover something...is not covering something.
That is like complaining that a noise ordinance that begins at 11pm does not take care of noise at 7pm. It is not supposed to.

So it isn't a valid argument to wonder why you cannot unsubscribe from a government system, but business are forced to under law and penalty? That doesn't strike you as odd? That government would exclude themselves from the purview of law?
