I don't know why anyone would be surprised. Europe has knotted itself up in unhealthy, anti-sovereignty relationships. The Eurozone might not be as negative a relationship as the Treaty of Versailles. But when other people's start coming into your country and claim the legitimacy of telling you how to run things - THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN.

People are going to become nationalistic and they're going to become self destructive. Especially democracies that have obviously proven as completely irresponsible as Greece. Debt is an existential issue for a nation. Its time we start treating it that way.

Anyone have a link to their party platform? The word "Nazi", just like fascism, is used in such a broad scale today that it really doesn't mean anything, other than that the user wants to paint the party in a negative color. If these "Nazis" want to stick it to international finance and stop "trash" immigration of people who offer nothing to the already devastated job market and Greek economy, then good for them. It's just sad that it takes economic collapse to make people vote who they want instead of who is considered acceptable by the MSM or the parties already in power.

the greeks have been pushing into a starving corner, now in desperation they are voting for any anti euro rip off party they can.

The Golden Dawn Party is not a National Socialist Party. I have been following them for a while now, hoping they would come out of this election with at least two dozen seats in the Greek Parliament. Golden Dawn is a deeply nationalistic and uniquely Greek Fascist (not National Socialist) political party. There is no reason to fear it, its members, or its rise to power, unless, as the GD leader said, you are a traitor to the nation of Greece. Then, I say to GD ‘do what you so desire with traitors’.

Golden Dawn’s political ideology is the continuation of Ioannis Metaxes, The party, as did his party during the 1930s, believes in a Monarchy, or a transitional phase under the guidance of a Dictator, the purity of the Greek race within their own nation, anti-capitalist/socialist economics which favors corporatism (unity of all industries/trades and classes in society) along with protectionism in trade, and rightfully hates parliamentarianism and communism. I have yet to find any point of disagreement with them, save their often idolization of Adolf Hitler who I dislike for being a mentally unstable populist rather than any type of savior.

regarding the golden dawn party. i read that one of their policies is to place landmines on the turkish side of the border to deter illegals from entering the country. i read that on the bbc text. seems quite a brutal intention if true.
i would rather proximity sensors than the probable threat of humans losing limbs for a better life.

other than the above, i haven't read anything else on them

Regarding the landmins. As i know first hand regarding that particular region and its landmines from both sides i can safely say that illegals are frequently used to cross into Greece from Turkey so a map of tracks can be worked out. Mutilated bodies are a constant event every month and no, it isn't reported on the news as its become a common occurance.
