They did not do it.

Would have been easy with all Dems right there in majority positions on committees.

They failed us.

In 2008 Republicans publicly unveiled their "no wins for Obama" strategy and they've stuck to it, tossing the middle class of America under the bus while doing it. As it stands Obama can't get Republican votes that will let him use the bathroom, let alone govern the country.

While I'm at this ..... Never in the History of America has a party abandoned the American voter as the Republicans have. You people keep voting them in, and special interests keep 'buying' them.

As a result you're now supporting a party of millionaires that would rather cut Social Security benefits, kill Medicare and food stamps and bail out banks than to put the tax bracket that millionaires were in during the Clinton administration, back into the tax code, and who also refuse to enforce trade regulations, and to stop subsidies for outsourcing American jobs, or assisting American companies . And people like you cheer them on while they're doing this.

That was the worst State of the Union speech i have ever seen.

Hillary Clinton couldn't wait to get out of there!

well I believe president obama is one of the best speech giver's ever. For a min. there he almost convinced me that things are changing and that things will change. After all that is the message he ran on before,"change". He had some very good points though. i liked what he said about education cost and how we need to help people basicly be able to get a more affordable education. Education should not be free, but at least it should cost a reasonable amount as to not break the backs who do want to further there education. I think he had a very stronge view on iran and the nuke situation. Which might come back to bite him. He also mentioned syria, and other nation's over there.All in all the speech was superb. I also think in alot of issues he was taking this oppertunity to tell people what they wanted to hear, because a lot of people wanted to here about taxing the rich the same as the middle class. We wanted to hear about giving company's rewards for "keeping it american", and rewarding those company's who create jobs here.
I just wish for ounce that he was allowed to put those idea's into action. There is to much red tape. That is a fact. I'm not saying not to check and clear it through congress and stuff, come on people< we all know that some of those great idea's he had will be shot down because of that fact that he is from the other party. A whole unit dedicated to "Trade Enforcement"

Internet piracy falls under this...

They do not need to pass a law through the house for this they can just do it...

ICC and FBI I believe fall under DoHS....
The Treausry is also under Presidents authority...

The unit does not need new law to act... they will enforce via this Trade enforcement unit...

SOPA and associated in effect without having to fight in congress...

In that case every president should only serve one term because, they all can not follow through with there promises. The president who ever they are do not have that kinda power. It is the government as a whole that is the problem. I'm not saying obama is the savior of the world or anything like that. I am just saying it was not all his fault. All the president's have not come through with some kinda promise that that told the nation they were going to do.

I just got finished watching Obama's State of the Union Address. I agree with another poster, not sure if it was in this thread or another on the same topic, that said the whole speech has nothing to do with the state of the Union. It's all about what he wants to do moving forward.

The whole speech actually reminds me of Obama's campaign run in 2008. A lot of ideas that sound good, but absolutely no indication of HOW he would actually do these things.
