2012 End of World?

Hope the World does not end in 2012 but guys you gotta remember their has been thousands of prophicies about the End of the World and us but has it happened yet,no.
Like Millenium 2000 everyone thought that was surly the date we would all die.

It truly is the most exciting time to be alive.

I've read articles and books that predict that The internet is going to become A.I. over time as it grows and evolves. Eventually it will surpass us. that could be what the mayans meant about our tools rising up against us. its like terminator or the matrix.

Then theres always the old standbys of a nuke war with china or north korea. Or even just good old global warming. Ecological disaster is on its way and its going to get worse every year from here on out.

some say were going into the 4th dimension. by 2011 they intend to have a hyperdrive ship bult which creates a strong gravity field pulling the ship into another dimension unbound by the speed of light. the 4th dimension?

or perhapse outside of time. Time travel would certainly cause a new age.

I was not quite sure we'd all die, in fact I spent the year or so before Y2K trying to explain to my friends who were worrying that nothing was going to happen.
So not everyone was sure about that one.
As for 2012, rather than being a couple of years old, like the Y2K prediction, the ancient predictions about this one have been around thousands of years, and describe the state of humanity today very accurately.
Still, I am not worried, why worry?, as Mad magazines used to say.

And if the world ends on the 12th, I'll admit I was wrong.

now heres the situation as far as i can gather. i am pretty much convinces of the destruction of the majoirty if not the entirety of life on earth. however as it has been said earlier in the thread there are 2 possibilities. we evolve and become what we cannot even comprehend where there is no time because we have risen mentally above this lowly dimension(as well as direction and such) or as i believe it was nostradamus that said in 2013 the world will become ingulfed in flames and the dead will walk the earth. and this frightens me a tad based on the apparent mayan theory of the portal to the underworld opening. however based on medidtation and dreams i believe the later will happen. there may be a select few however some call "guardiens" who, when the portal opens, will awaken their chakras and spiritual awareness to attempt to protect the planet. however perhaps both could occur. maybe we as a general race will move onto the next plane an the dead will in turn inherit the earth.
that fits into most religions pretty well.
but one thing is for certain in the year 2013 a great change will be occoring with us. i frankly look forward to any of the following events. the human race is wasting itself too much for karma to continue to put up with us.

People did not think the world would in Y2K did they? I thought that all the computers would have a problem because their calenders couldn't go into year 2000 so that their calenders would be messed up and so would everything that had a computer involved with it such as large banks store chains and so on. If I am wrong please inform me on what people thought would happen.

Ok this is my subject w00t. Ok, here is what I think and no one EVER takes this in to consideration, THe maya said alot about a serpent. Straight up, do some research on the 13th constellation. The maya were sky watchers. I believe they predicted a mutation (for the good) here on earth. I personally believe that we will enter a point in our galaxy where times will be hard but huge changes will be occuring. I believe we are hidding behind a illusion. I mean there are so many things to look at, The poles, north and south moved a tiny bit but enough to see from space when the tsunami hit. Also, sun spots increasing, yes it is a cycle but the maya calculated cycles THOUSANDS of years ago. I believe the magnetic field will drop the poles will shift and a huge change will come to earth. THe maya talked about the serpent and the tree of life an awful lot. Think about it. Here is a good example for you to think about.. We are in a dimension called 1d (we are actually 3d but im making an example) But what if a person in 3d put his hand in 1d? 1d wouldnt have a clue what the hell is going on and would not comprehend, Now put this in our situation I am 3d and someone from 5d puts his hand in, the first words are, what in the? My point is the MAYA knew something we did not.

Both of these examples were in the book I read. This was, oh, I'd say ten years ago. My uncle had tons of these wacky things around and that was just one of a myriad of odd tomes he possessed.

Still, you could consider a nuclear war a case of technology going bad, but the book clearly stated that their technology acted on its own accord...as if it was alive.

If you've seen the Animatrix it's quite the scary thought. I know we're not yet to that point in technology but it is quite interesting.

Cotterell later states how the mathematical and physics wizard, Bruce Cathie was dissatisfied with Einstein’s premise that the speed of light travels at 984,251,968.5 feet per second (or 300,000,000 meters per second) after a life altering UFO encounter. Accordingly, Bruce Cathie decided to disprove the figures and postulated Einstein’s errors were due to various oversights- he used gravitational anomalies never thought of by Einstein. With the use of modern subatomic, mathematical, et al. theories he calculated the arc to be 144,000 minutes of arc per second. Once again the same number used by the Ancients. He further demonstrates how the Viracocha treasures have clearly shown the cycles of copulation and menstruation as related to solar maximum cycles. The evidence is extremely uncanny for such an ancient culture to have such a great understanding of human microbiology.

According to W. Strauss and N. Howe in their book The Fourth Turning: What the Cycles of History Tells Us About America’s Next Rendezvous with Destiny, they state that, “The Fourth Turning is a Crisis- a decisive era of secular upheaval, and when the values regime propels the replacement of the old civic order with a new one.” They postulated the following occurred during the second half of the Twentieth Century: the First Turning occurred 1946-1964- the American High, the Second Turning occurred 1964-1984-Conciousness Revolution, the Third Turning occurred 1984-2005—Culture Wars, and they predict the Fourth Turning is at hand---THE MILLENNIAL CRISIS--

The glitterati-types of main stream media and publishing do not label them conspiracy theorists nor paranoid survivalist but let it suffice to say I am sure a few of the Fifth Avenue and Rodeo Drive “sophistos” had a minor breakdown after reading it. from the ones that were here before them. the ones that were cast out of "heaven." millions of them. they had the knowledge. the knowledge of Astronomy, constellations metalurgy and minerals, cosmetics, jewelry, dyes, sexual secrets and weapons and enchantments and root-cuttings, botany, herbery, drugs, geomancy; signs of the earth... they came from a place where structures that were built were pyramids. they not only built places on this planet before mankind, like cities, but passed that knowledge to man when he was created. i can get the scripture in the bible that tells about this but its gonna have to be tommorrow. need sleep.

All the knowledge and wisdom that has come down through the ages, seems to have started with the sumerians,and progressed to the egyptians, mayans, chinese,hebrews, etc, we have the pyramids as proof,and many other relics through out the world,. this information is too advanced for the common people at the time it was produced to have known this info,they just logged the info they was told. Which to me seems the info is not of this world ,but came to this world.It seems strange that man lives for around 70 years and yet this info was placed around 7000 years ago for the benefit of the people living in THESE times NOW.what ever subject that is discussed there are the yea,s and the nay,s and the others that cannot decide one way or the other.
There are lots of guesses of beings from outer space the heavens,from the old writings,why cannot it be true? maybe Nibiru is true, maybe the plenty of ufo sightings are confirming it.If the mayans are correct about the calender finishing in 2012, christ was talking about the end times, which we are closely approaching. If the earth is going to be destroyed why bother 7000 years ago to start creating future generations and educating if its all going to finish, were we just an experiment?
I think there is a lot more info that has been held back by the church,governments, secret societies and the scholars who deciphered this valuable info, did they want it for themselves only ,were they conserned about panic, whatever the reason people have the right to know, and soon. The churches governments control the people ,it should be the other way around,they should serve us we pay them. It has also been predicted that the world will end in 2012 by many other sources. Edgar Cayce (died in 1945) predicted the end of our world in the 21st century, as well as details such as which and how countries would go underwater or split up, including the united states.

He said (although this could purely be jus nature and speculation) that Nature would give us warnings of this disaster: the first stage of warnings are from 1975-1998. this same man also predicted the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami



Odlly enough, in the past few decades, there has been substantial increase in natural disasters. tornados have supposedly incread by 500% ...other things have occured in nature as well*.


Gordon Michale Scallion (although a lesser credible source) has also predicted the end of the world will occur anywhere from 1998-2012

For those of you who still want to know, the calender does just end, and it is widely believed that this creates the beginning of a new cycle. The proof behind this belief of theirs was in the fact that their previous calender had ended just before the great flood. The only other shred of archaeological evidence provides that they believed the world had gone through a previous cycle in which it had been destroyed by fire...i.e...meteors and whatnot. Dinosaurs sound familiar? The accepted theory is that the calender ends because of yet another cataclysmic event that is due to happen around that date, verified by astrological calculations. Their beliefs, as was mentioned before, were that the world recycles itself through destruction. "Through suffering and heartache, all things are made new." Very interesting concept, especially when one considers that every culture has a story about a great flood, and a planet wide consumation of fire millennia before that. It is just another paver in the road. Everyone has something similar.

Does anybody think that something might happen on or around the 18/19th September this year. I reckon something might cos I worked out that if the mayan long count calender ends on the the 21/12/2012 then around that time their calender will read...0.0.6.6.6...that's kind of spooky...right?

We dont know exactly what the Mayans thought because the spanish killed them and burned their books, all of their books. We have only 4 codexes left from hundreds of thousands, if not millions.
We do know that the world does not end on 2012, but the end of one cycle of the universe. Mayans dated their culture from the planet Venus, but astronomical dates extend hundreds of thousands of years.
The tree of life, is the universe. Mayans did not view time as linear, but cyclical, and the universe as the tree from which all life springs.

Ancient cultures were not "given" special knowledge. they worked very hard and many generations to develop the knowledge base. It is somewhat demeaning to rob them of accomplishments. no small feat to to insure people thousands of years after them can read and learn of their wonderfull Cultures, and scientific discoveries.
