I have noticed lately that ATS Mods are lacking and slacking on monitoring this site IMO, sorry ATS but I am kinda with the recent thread to leave and start or praise a new site that is more precise in what ATS lacks in. I have been on the search, does anyone have a idea of any out there already?

Modding a site of this size, magnitude, and breadth of subject is a monumental task, and we depend on the members to alert us to things requiring our attention. If you have noticed areas that lack attention, then by all means use the complaint feature to bring those things to our attention.

Was it this avatar or my other angel one?

I think it was this one, unless the other one also has the shiny swords? I like the dark shading, and the contrast of the glare on the swords. I also like the size of the wings. I'm pretty sure it was this one.

An avatar is just a picture. It just sits on your screen, doesn't jump off it to attack you, and can't hurt anyone.

You need to sort your head out.

Na this is the only swords/angel one.
The other one is the angel tied up and blindfolded (Giggity) with wings.

I prefer the wings in that one but the overall feel of this one.

I'll swap it quickly

I like it the way it is. How else would we be able to spot members who are compensating for something, or trying to prove a point by posing with guns in their avatar? How else would members be easily identified as potential future terrorists if they can't pose with their firearms?

Perhaps you should read the Bill of Rights, specifically the Second Amendment. Perhaps someday you will understand that those "people with a gun" may be the only thing standing between you and a government that takes control of every aspect of your life. The free militias are the only force keeping the crooked politicians away from such a move, IMHO.

I think avatars with guns in them are just fine. ATS does have limits on what is allowed in avatars though.

The T&C limitations on avatars are fine as is, in my opinion.

Do you feel threatened by an avatar with a gun? Do you think it is going to come alive and shoot you or something?

It's a picture. An image.

Honestly you remind me of a news story I heard a few years ago. A mom complained to an art museum curator, because her son saw a statue of a nude woman, claiming it was porn.

Well, the museum curator laughed in her face because there is a huge difference between art and porn.

Same thing goes for avatars. Just because a person has a gun in their avatar it does not mean they are violent or even like violence.

I once had an avatar with a gun in it when I first joined and I am one of the biggest hippies you will ever meet.

There are all kinds of reasons people might have a gun in their avatar, none that I have seen have ever come across as threatening or dangerous.

My reason for having a gun avatar in the past? Sarcasm.

So, don't judge and just assume that a gun avatar represents violence or anger. You are right, we are not facebook. We are adults, intelligent, civil, well spoken and more than capable of thinking. Gun avatars are just pictures. Pictures chosen for many different reasons and there is no real reason to censor them any more than there is a reason to censor an avatar with skulls in them, now is there?

Don't shoot the messenger

Why don't you look at it as someone will to step in to protect you and stop violence rather than promote it? It is because of this anti-gun attitude that when several people are shot by one person, I always ask, "Why was he allowed to even get off the second shot?" It is because people want to disarm legal gun owners.

I'm not one to buy into the 2012 end of the world thing.

But seeing this post just changed my mind. 2012 is the end of life as we know it.

The sad thing is there are millions of other bubble-boys and social misfits that would agree with this garbage.

Hence the Nanny-State, Big Brother, Constant Surveillence is inevitable because the people like the OP had a poopy in his pants over a picture.

Will not show them fullscreen .. for obvious reasons

Remember him ?

Kimveer Gill from Montreal

and so many other showed violent patern in their pictures
thats the problem in this world .. some people have way to much freedom
they think they are invicible and they like when people fear them boosting their selfish ego
lets not give that chance to such people and remove their propaganda ego machine
there is so many terrible stuff on the net let not it be some people may like and accept
but like i say .. it can wrongly influence a youngster and scare them of coming here again
or it would be +18-21 yrs old to register
in a perfect freedom we still follow common sens rules ..

NOT my decision to take ... but my opinion ..
freedom of opinion is way more important then a public avatar

Do any of you read any comments posted before posting? If I read "well I think they should ban skulls in avatars as well" once more....I may well scream.

Personally I would go one step further Ban all guns or make bullets 10k a pop

The weapon displayed in my current avatar should be banned as well.

It's far more dangerous than you can imagine.

The right to bear arms is part of the constitution of the United States (2nd amendment). I don't think any other country has such an irresponsible legal inclusion as part of its foundation documents.

Perhaps we should just but an IP block on the US? We could call it SOPA and tell them it is for their own good too, so they'd like it.

We should ban people who want to ban everything. I like the way the rules are on ATS. Ill never understand why some people enjoy being controlled.
