Why people eat it? We eat it because it's delicious.......Just talking about pork makes me hungry......Favorite sandwich is from Slows Bar BQ, The Triple Threat - Applewood Bacon, Pulled Pork and Ham stacked high.....yummmmm

Um those are the old testament. You do understand why one is called and the other is called new don't you? Lame...

Because with the advent of something called Science we figured out as to why Pork was considered bad for us....

The whole notion that pork was forbidden because it was too potentially dangerous to eat is absurd. It's no more inherently dangerous than any other food if it's properly prepared, and here you have an entire book full of food preparation rules to follow.

It really has more to do with some backward tribe's foolish and superstitious notion of what is "clean" and what is "unclean." That's why people in India are perfectly okay with eating pork, while they avoid cattle. People are stupid and ignorant. That's the primary reason.

To understand the OP's reason, one must understand the evolution and progress of the human race.

In our ancient past, our ancestors were only babies, with no concept of dietry habits to ensure good health, and thus divine dietry laws were made to help our ancestors, which today we realize the truth of it, and had saved many human lives, thanks to such laws which was written down and accepted by the 3 great religions on Earth - jews, christians, muslims.

As babies can only be fed with baby food, but when we grow up, we will need more sustenance than baby food alone, so long as we do not take it in excess, just like wine. Our advancement and progression in science had proven that both white and red meat is necessary to our well being and health, and never to be excessive.

The resource of Earth, with both animals and plants, are meant as sustenance for human life. Thus, as growing up children, we eat such resources, but not in excess, and are thankful for its sustenance for us all.

Rules are meant as guidance, and must always be taken in context of the time it was meant for, and never to be rigidly held forever, espacially dietry and other sub category civilisational laws, for mankind must advance and progress to fulfill our divine manifest destiny - to the stars.

Here is the quoted word of Jesus and the Law of Moses:

"Love the Lord your God with all of your heart and with all of your soul and with all of your mind." this is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: "Love your neighbor as yourself." All the Law and the prophets hang on these two commandments. Matthew 22:37-40

Jesus did not end the law, but fulfilled it. This is why Christ-followers and those who walk in faith with God get grace.

The Christian Holy Bible has the Old Testimate-pre Jesus which you are quoting from, also Christian has Jesus story new testimates, his walk through crucifiction. The Christians of the protestant link doninately follow new testimate, occasionally teach some old testimate. As for eating swine I don't recall it being written in the new estimates, therefore the Christians have a sorta wiggle area to do as they please. I was raised protestant side Southern Baptist from 3days old through 23 years old, then I saw differently. Know I pray to God and if it is Gods will I shall find a new faith. The only thing we need do is seek within, and as our consciousness raises we refine as if silver and gold our ability to harm. For some that will mean giving up red meat or all flesh of living creatures but that was never required either, being cruelty free as much as possible was.

I'm 0+ and love pork and bacon. But have been opting for chicken and fish (oh, you mean the oceans are radiated beyond measure and now I have only their toxic chicken). Well if it comes down to feeding my family, the pork will have to do at times even though its heavily laced with toxins and diseases from what I've been told as well.

Nice try...but you do not get grace from loving this god you think you are worshipping..

No mention of clean and unclean animals here.

The Council’s Letter to Gentile Believers

And yes there is mention of both clean and unclean animals in the ark so this encompasses everything.

It seems a lot of folks quote from Acts chapter 10 about Peter's vision, as well as Paul's explanations about what is allowed and not.

But don't forget later on in Acts, Chapter 15, the believers got together to decide what to have the Non-Jewish Christians follow because of a heated discussion on whether new believers ought to be circumcised. The eventual decision came down to the point that with all the laws given by Moses, even the Jews had a hard time following it (sounds like the US's tax code). And anyways, those who follow Jesus Christ fulfill the laws innately in their desire to follow Him anyways.

So, it "boiled" down to Acts chapter 15 verses 22-29 (initially stated by James) (KJV)

"22. Then pleased it the apostles and elders with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas and Silas, chief men among the brethren:

23. And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia.

24. Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

25. It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,

26. Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

27. We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.

28. For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

29. That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well."


This is more of where it was decided that the Non-Jews would follow a more "abridged" version of the Mosaic laws, or a more straight-forward compilation of things to follow.
