How fascinatingly ignorant ... and that is saying something in this world of TeaBags. So, thought and philosophy should be treason? And you pretend to know the original intent of the Constitution. Wow. Just wow. people like you shouldn't be allowed to vote ever again.

Even a tyrant may occasionally speak the truth.

That's a bunch of bull... You may work 50-70hrs per week, but the CEO of your company is out golfing and networking... while the dude working construction is making $20/hr working as many hours as the guy working in a call centre making $25/hr... it's not equal or fair... Sure you could say your skills are "worth" more, but you don't necessarily work harder then the next guy... Being part of a socialist society doesn't necessarily mean giving the fruits of your labour away. One thing i know... is that your capitalist country makes it so that the farmers in my country have to sell a 1 ton of corn / $0.79 because we MUST compete with other countries to sell a certain quota to the USA due to NAFTA provisions which means that our farmers can't even sell most of their corn locally!! Nope they have to practically give it to the USA so that you guys can make a profit, while our farmers who probably work harder then You are barely getting by.

You can keep your capitalist country. I only wish my country was a little less like the US and a little more socialist.

Speaking as a US citizen, I partially agree with OP. It should not be treason, it just should not be allowed in the US. For other countries its fine and they can do what they want. But the constitution should protect us from government officials trying to reshape us into socialism every time a president happens to get elected with a vastly different belief system than ours. Even though now they are trying to punch holes in the constitution, I guess it can't be helped when everyone including officials and judges have this mindset.

We are just different, the original people here fled those countries for that reason. We should not become them, then what was the point of creating the US if we end up becoming Europe anyway?

Well, I live in a country that has a capitalist economy and a highly socialist government...... it's really opened my eyes to the idea of separating government and business

Can you imagine that? a country in which the government is for the people, of the people, and corporations are of themselves, for themselves? Everyone can choose to live in as much individualism or collectivism as they wish, according to how social or self centered they personally tend to be?

Compassion is what I do for others by PERSONAL CHOICE. Slavery is where a gun is pointed at my head and the fruits of my labor are forcefully taken. See the difference?

So how do you feel about "social" security? Food banks? Medicare/Aid? Ever need food stamps? I know damn good people in the States that wouldn't survive without these programs. Repressed areas without the means of support. What do we do? Let them and their kids starve? That said, I'm Canadian and see the value of social programs.

I tend to agree with all you said. But, the socialist, communist political platform is predicated upon the (State) as the supreme authority over it's population. Our constitutional premise under the wording of ("we the people") was to give the people the authority over a limited government. Only from that context, can freedom and personal liberties continue to exist.
The encroachment of any other political system, contrary to that original document , has the effect of nullifying those specified liberties and freedoms.
Corporatism, as an exaggerated or bastardized form of capitalism, has the same nullifying effect on freedom and liberty, albeit the effect is economic.
Slavery, be it political or economic, is still slavery.
Perhaps I am an idealist. But my sense is that (our) U.S. constitution, if adhered to, in the spirit and wisdom, of it's signers, is the single most protectorate document for freedom and liberty ever created.
It seems that almost from the beginning, special interest groups, with nefarious agenda's, have continuously tried to
use, abuse, ignore or destroy the spirit of that document for personal or political gain.
I say we have the right and obligation (all of us) to protect and defend the constitution by all means necessary.
Is that not the oath all public servants must swear by. Those who actions violate that oath-----???

Quick question to the OP and others claiming that Socialism, Communism and Marxism are opposed to the founding principles of this nation and should be considered treason; have you ever actually read anything written by a Communist, Socialist or Marx?

I know, I know. You probably haven't, and don't think you need to because you totally know what the ideologies are all about without having to read anything about them...but just try sometime.

The funny thing you will find is that there are many philosophical parallels between the ideas of The Socialists you hate and the Founders you love...but, you have to throw away your preconceived notions of both.

Of course....I know from experience that asking this is asking too much, and that this thread will continue to spiral downhill into a mess of preconceived, and largely uninformed and biased, notions.

No, they really shouldnt. In fact, I"m going to counter that statement by saying Lenin would be a cool guy to chill with
(Seriously! The guy had an epic beard!)

But like the famous quote from Metro 2033 goes -

"Wicked phenomenon, yes? But, you know, it’s not any more "evil" than, say… fire. It all depends on your point of view. Try to get a better understanding of things before you make your judgement."

Well, its just how a Communist would say that Capitalism or Fascism is treason, and vice versa. All this crazy rambling had a point you know!

If the system still runs on FIAT than I guess it won't really matter what we do, things will be messed up. Without that there would be no debt, no social slavery, less crime and more of the good ol' happy feeling to go around (something that's extremely lacking these days). Here's what I think. If you abolish corporatist media outlets, advertising companies of all shapes and sizes, and force corporations to shape up "or else", then we can finally live in freedom and then we can decide what system is best to run it. All of your negative perceptions of any other system of rule are encouraged by the Fiat system and the way that it relies on debt and human suffering to continue itself. Just think about that before you post another response like that.
EDIT: Also, let's not forget that the system in place in the US is what caused the "post-industrial pockets" that are all over the US and they are growing. Inside these pockets, reside mostly adolescent "soldiers" who have been shown by society that the only way to survive is to segregate themselves and to kill eachother mercilessly. Everyone would have you believe that the disenfranchised black youths have made their own bed and "why can't they just get a job?", but few people realise that this is a problem that was created by corporatism and the Fiat currency system.

And why should those who openly advocate the overthrow of those Constitutional principals, not be charged and prosecuted as traitors. What greater threat to liberty than that from within. This should be interesting

Europe is so "funked up" right now because the corporatist banksters got their hands stuck in the cookie jar there, not because of any ideologies that are in place.

Okay good, that means we can all agree that no matter what "ideology" or "economic" system is in place the real failure will come because of the people that run it right? Right.

So now that we have established that fact, we can move on to the question of why would anyone want to give more power to a governing body that will always become corrupt?

No, it is not compassionate to steal from someone, skim off 80% and then hand it out to poor people.
