and this thread is a doo-doo bomb. ats could be a huge marketing, government, gimmick/scam, the fact is this site generates news of all sorts hours to days before the msm do, and as long as it keeps doing that, thier alright in my book.

I totally agree about this, I found the site as almost every conspiracy related topic I searched for on google had an ATS thread in the top place.

This ties together with my post in the board business forum - no mods on here seem to delete threads with identical or very similar info or even attempt to merge threads together. Intentional or not, it increases google search results to have multiple topics regarding the same subject.

I do love the content on here, but would appreciate some house-keeping!

this website is owned by The Above Network LLC (TAN) Simon posted that bit you quoted in 2004. The site has changed quite a bit since then. We've evolved as the site has grown.

Is it a business? Yes. We need to make money to be able to offer the site you see. It costs quite a bit of money to have the site run this fast, this smooth, so that you can come here and piss and moan like a 6 year old who just found out he isn't getting a second cookie.

If you don't like the free service we provide, and the means in which we provide it, I apologize. There's little else we can do to change that beyond a monthly user fee and we don't plan on doing that. It wouldn't be fair to the other 3 million or so people who come here each month and enjoy all that this site has to offer, again, for free.

Gotta go and post a new thread about this ATS Cookie Conspiracy...I KNEW IT!!!

They make money from advertising... then they turn around and redistribute some of that money back into "The Above Network, LLC" and bring us things such as .. oh I don't know, "ATS Live" radio broadcasts on Saturday nights for example.
Everyone posts here on their own free will, and Google picks up keywords to bring back search results.
